Holding an apple in her hand, she found a fruit knife and began peeling it.
She didn’t leave imdiately but stood there quietly watching.
"So of these dishes you can’t eat right now; you can wait and make them later. The child is still small, and you need to avoid certain foods."
At this point, Zhang Minyi’s eyes dimd slightly, "Oh dear, I’m so silly, being the mother of two children now, how could I not know these things!"
No one ever told these things before; I always had to learn on the spot when the situation arose.
Ye Xinluo thought to herself.
"Enough about that, let’s talk about sothing else. In a few days when you return, no one will bother you, and you can finally have so peace."
Upon hearing this, Ye Xinluo was montarily distracted and accidentally cut her hand. Instinctively, she retracted, and with a clang, the fruit knife fell to the floor.
Zhang Minyi turned around, saw the blood droplet erging from her finger, and though it wasn’t a big deal, she acted as if sothing terrible had happened. She imdiately put down her knife, walked over to her, grabbed Ye Xinluo’s arm without explanation, and led her to the sink to wash it.
Ye Xinluo was slightly dazed, the cool touch on her finger, and the warmth from the hand holding her wrist, made her montarily unresponsive.
Instinctively wanting to pull back her hand, Zhang Minyi held even tighter, her tone anxious, "How could you be so careless, luckily it’s just a small cut, didn’t hurt anywhere else; you must be more careful in the future."
"I’m... okay."
Ye Xinluo stared blankly at her profile, which bore a resemblance to her own features, her face reflecting genuine concern rather than a pretense.
With lips tightly pressed, she lowered her eyes slightly, unsure of what to say.
After rinsing for a while, Zhang Minyi found a band-aid and helped her put it on before speaking, "Go wait outside first; it won’t be long before we eat. I have sothing to do this afternoon, won’t be able to co over for dinner tonight."
"Why?"
It was an unintended question, yet she patiently explained, "I’m going to visit soone."
Ever since returning, she hadn’t had the chance to visit her mother’s grave, wanting to take this opportunity to see her before leaving.
Her gaze towards Ye Xinluo sank, "I want to visit... Haoyu’s grandmother, would you like to join?"
Ye Xinluo lowered her eyes, was it the woman in her dream who brought her back to Z city?
When she was young, she loved being with her grandmother, but now she was separated by life and death...
"Okay."
Surprisingly, she agreed.
Zhang Minyi was also taken aback, but then she smiled, "Good, that’s good..."
...
In the afternoon, at the suburban cetery, Ye Xinluo held Ling Ge and quietly followed behind.
Beichen Rui heard her talking about visiting her grandmother and rushed back from the company to accompany her.
In front of a tombstone, a group of people stopped, Ye Xinluo glanced around; this seed to be the best spot in the whole cetery, the Ling family seed quite attentive.
Ling Haoyu placed the flowers he held in front of the tombstone, squatted down, visibly in a good mood, "Grandmother, look who’s co to see you, can you still recognize us? Grandma, I found Linlin, the whole family has co to visit you, no wait, there’s a little one who hasn’t co, at school right now, will bring them over later when there’s a chance."
Ye Xinluo quietly observed, the familiar yet unfamiliar image of the woman on the black and white photo on the tombstone...
