He squatted down in front of Jingxi, looking at the child’s swollen eyes, feeling a bit of heartache.

After wiping the child’s tears, he reached out to lift him up. Slipping his hands under the child’s armpits, he easily pulled him into his arms.
Beichen Rui watched this scene, almost bug-eyed with surprise.
Why didn’t this turn out as he had imagined? His frosty gaze fixed on Housekeeper Lin, as if it could bore a hole through him.
Housekeeper Lin could feel a chilling gaze from behind, even his palms were breaking out in cold sweat.
Without even thinking, he knew that a certain soone was displeased, so he looked at the little one in his arms and said, "Jingxi, how about letting Dad... Uncle hold you?"
Originally, he intended to say let Daddy hold you, but then he rembered Jingxi called the Young Master uncle, so he changed it.
Jingxi poked his little head out from Housekeeper Lin’s embrace and glanced in Beichen Rui’s direction.
Beichen Rui heard Housekeeper Lin’s suggestion too, feeling a bit tense. In the past few days, apart from helping the little one bathe, there was no proper opportunity to hold him.
He was thinking about the right way to hold a child.
However, what Jingxi said next left Beichen Rui dumbfounded.

With a cold snort, he strode over to the other side of the sofa, sat down, and picked up a magazine to flip through absentmindedly.
Although he held the magazine, he didn’t really read the content, occasionally glancing over at Jingxi.
