Chapter 114: Chapter 114: Don’t Want Uncle, Want Mommy (3)

Everyone knew that Housekeeper Lin had a grandson. It was believed that he should have insights when it ca to keeping little children happy.

Thus, Beichen Rui stood by to learn how to calm a child so that if the little rascal cried again, he’d be able to handle it.

Housekeeper Lin found himself in a bit of a dilemma; he could calm children, but Jingxi was no ordinary child.

When he cried, he was hard to soothe.

After standing there for a while without moving, Beichen Rui impatiently muttered, "Why aren’t you moving yet? Do you need

to ask you?"

Couldn’t he see how much Jingxi was crying? Why stand there doing nothing?

Under Beichen Rui’s prodding, Housekeeper Lin had no choice but to step forward reluctantly.

There was no choice; the Young Master had commanded it, and he dared not disobey!

He squatted down in front of Jingxi, looking at the child’s swollen eyes, feeling a bit of heartache.

He took a tissue and reached out, trying to wipe away Jingxi’s tears.

Beichen Rui watched from the side.

He snorted internally, sure that the little guy would bat away Housekeeper Lin’s hand.

However, the next second, Jingxi’s reaction left Beichen Rui utterly shocked, finding it hard to believe his eyes.

Jingxi did not push away Housekeeper Lin this ti; he allowed him to wipe his tears.

Jingxi didn’t dislike Housekeeper Lin; instead, he relied on him.

Housekeeper Lin hadn’t expected the little guy wouldn’t refuse him; he thought he would ignore him.

After wiping the child’s tears, he reached out to lift him up. Slipping his hands under the child’s armpits, he easily pulled him into his arms.

Beichen Rui watched this scene, almost bug-eyed with surprise.

Why didn’t this turn out as he had imagined? His frosty gaze fixed on Housekeeper Lin, as if it could bore a hole through him.

Housekeeper Lin could feel a chilling gaze from behind, even his palms were breaking out in cold sweat.

Without even thinking, he knew that a certain soone was displeased, so he looked at the little one in his arms and said, "Jingxi, how about letting Dad... Uncle hold you?"

Originally, he intended to say let Daddy hold you, but then he rembered Jingxi called the Young Master uncle, so he changed it.

Jingxi poked his little head out from Housekeeper Lin’s embrace and glanced in Beichen Rui’s direction.

Beichen Rui heard Housekeeper Lin’s suggestion too, feeling a bit tense. In the past few days, apart from helping the little one bathe, there was no proper opportunity to hold him.

He was thinking about the right way to hold a child.

However, what Jingxi said next left Beichen Rui dumbfounded.

Looking at Beichen Rui, Jingxi said disdainfully, "No."

The air suddenly froze.

...

Beichen Rui stood there, stunned and rooted to the spot.

Had he just been rejected?

He felt unbalanced; usually, people would always prioritize him, yet this ti a housekeeper had outdone him?

If word got out, it would be quite disgraceful.

He wanted to snatch the little one over but feared he would cry again, so he reluctantly gave up.

Stinky brat, how dare you reject your old man, just wait...

With a cold snort, he strode over to the other side of the sofa, sat down, and picked up a magazine to flip through absentmindedly.

Although he held the magazine, he didn’t really read the content, occasionally glancing over at Jingxi.

It was only when Beichen Rui sat down that Housekeeper Lin finally breathed a sigh of relief, his heart that was suspended in mid-air finally settling down.

After Jingxi said those words, Housekeeper Lin was truly sweating bullets; throughout the entire Beichen Family, even across the whole city of Z, no one had ever dared to reject the Young Master like that.
