"Dovey, I have just finished a shoot right now. And have cleared my schedule for an hour or so. Now I am heading over to your company, you need to have lunch with right now! We are celebrating your joining as the new CEO of Sterling Corporations." Lisa said.
Dove listened to her friend in surprise and said, "Now?"
"Yup! I will be there in twenty minutes to half an hour. et below your company’s building. We are going on a girly lunch date. I have booked a private room at a restaurant too. And if you want you are allowed to bring that little naughty one too." Lisa said in a teasing tone.
To which, Gavi who was sitting quietly beside Gavriel suddenly turned riled up and he jumped down the couch and ran to his mother’s desk near the phone and said, "Aunty Lisa, what was that what you said! I am momma’s little sunshine, alright! Not a naughty one! And what do you an she is allowed?!
Do you think it wouldn’t be sinful for you both to go and eat good food without taking ? Would you be so heartless?"
Dove looked at her son, with a smile, while Lisa on the other side of the phone pretended to be surprised and said, "Ou? You were there too? I didn’t know. So if you already listened then you are welco to co as well. I never said you aren’t allowed." She said as a matter of factly.
To which, Gavriel poured his lips and said, "But still I didn’t like that tone, humph!"
Dove’s gaze then fell on Dante who was on the couch and currently he was looking at Gavriel bickering with Lisa as usual, and she spoke from the side, "Lisa, and one more person will be going with us."
"Huh? One more person?" Lisa asked in surprise. And Dante looked looked up at Dove to see her look at him, before answering, "Yes."
"Oh? Who is it?" Lisa asked curiously.
To which Dove just answered, "You will know once we are there." After all, if she tried to explain Lisa over the call, she would first of all not understand at once, and even if she did she would have thousands of questions that Dove preferred to answer being in front of her.
"Uhm... Okay." Anyway, I already booked a room. There isn’t an issue with it." She said, "Alright, then. I am hanging up the call. Quicken up with your work. I will give you a call as I reach there. And see you there, Gavi!" And Lisa hung up the call.
Dove then looked over at Dante, who was already looking at her, and she asked, "You don’t have any issue coming with us, do you, Mr Lancaster?"
To which Dante smirked and said, "Maybe it would be an issue if I didn’t. It is my job, Miss Dove. Moreover, this question, I think I should be the one asking you. I hope you don’t feel uncomfortable."
And Dove just shook her head with a small smile. Anyway according to what Grandpa has said he needs to be around her whenever she goes.
So, she can not just stop him from doing his job on the first day itself.
After so ten to fifteen minutes had passed and Grace ca into the office to give her so reports about her work. And then left.
Dove was just preparing for a break when soone else entered the office.
It was Noah. He smiled at her as he stepped in the office and handed her so files. "These are the reports of the recent products that were launched last month. Have a look."
Dove was a little surprised to see him bring this in person, when he could have just sent soone and she nodded before keeping those files on the table, and said, "You did not have to trouble yourself to keep here and give them, Noah. You could have perhaps sent your assistant."
Noah’s smile widened a little more and his eyes soften a little and he said, "Well, i could. And I was about to do the sa, but then I wanted to tell you sothing."
Tell you sothing? Dante’s ears instantly perked and his eyes sharpened as be looked at the man, who he was almost sure was his rival in love.
"Hm?" Dove raised an eyebrow and nodded her head, telling, "Yes? What is it?"
And at this, Noah’s heart beat a little faster and he said, "It is almost lunch ti, so I was wondering if you and Gavi would join for lunch?"
And just as those words left his mouth, Done hadn’t yet answered, but Dante’s aura around him turned cold. This man! What was he trying to do?!!
Dante narrowed his eyes at him.
Even Dove froze for a mont when she heard Noah say that. And at that mont, she got the flashed from years ago, when she and her brother Noah would sit together having their lunch and gossip about the world around. But then this sa Noah had also avoided her like a plague, and now he was asking her the sa?
Dove felt a sting of pain in the corner of her eyes, and a part of her wanted to deny him on the face, as she rembered how hurt her younger self was, when the person she had known to be her brother had suddenly distanced himself from her. When he just started avoiding her, for reasons she did not even know.
But then she cald her emotions down and smiled at him apologetically.
And shook her head, "I am sorry, Noah. But I have already plans with Lisa today. In fact, she will be here any mont now."
I have moved on, from everything. It’s alright. People might have their own reasons to do whatever. But that doesn’t an, I will have to carry it over all my life. Dove reminded herself.
