"And what good do you see in keeping the engagent going, Mr Davis?" Senior Sterling asked sternly, as he looked at Mr Davis. On being on the receiving side of Mr Davis gulped as he found himself not being able to answer to his questions. "Moreover, what is needed for a successful marriage more than the wishes of the family is the consent of the girl and the boy. They should be having love and respect for each other in their hearts for each other. But here it seems that neither Dove nor Roan have that in them. Even if we keep this engagent, it would only lead to a very unsuccessful marriage. And being a parent, what do we want more than a happy life for our children."

And as Senior Sterling said that, no one had any say in it. Senior Sterling studied everyone's faces in the room, and then with authority in his tone, he said, "So, here we call off the engagent between Roan and Dove. And they are no longer involved with each other in any promised bond of marriage. As we all mutually deem it perfect for both of them as individuals and as family. And I am sure if Old Davis would have been here, he would also be taking the sa decision."

And what followed Senior Sterling's words were a pin drop silence, as he took a pause and then said again, "Also, it would be better if we don't add any condition to the annulnt of this engagent, as what we see is that there was a fault in both of our children. And no matter what, it logically stands to be a mutual case. Therefore, it would be better, if we end this here, without stretching it any longer and putting conditions to it. Let's maintain the bond between the families how it used to be, no matter how the engagent turned out. So, I just hope that our children find happiness in their lives." Senior Sterling said that with a smile. He wasn't born yesterday. He of course knew what these people had in their minds.

But no matter how he said that, he, the Sterling family and the Davis family, they all knew that the relationship between the families wouldn't remain the sa anymore.

There was a mont of silence, with black clouds hovering over everyone's heads, as nothing went according to what they had planned. The only happy one in the room was Dove, who was looking everyone with a cold smirk on her face.

After the mont of silence, Mr Davis finally said, "Then, we should go." It was Senior Sterling who nodded his head. And not wanting to lose any more face, he turned around and walked away towards the door. Cara Davis passed a glare at Dove, before she too huffed and went away. It wasn't that Dove minded it, and she just smirked. Then her eyes fell on Roan, who was just staring at her and she raised an eyebrow at him. He then averted his eyes, before he too turned back and walked away from there.

Nora, who was standing there quietly and was looking at all that was happening there, pressed her lips together. Because right now, she felt as an odd one out, and she cleared her throat and said, "Uhm... Then I think I should go too."

Dove was the one who answered it, and she said with a humour in her voice, "Of course, yes. Not like we needed you here anyway." At this point, Dove couldn't even bother to hide the new found dislike she had for Nora. Nora pressed her lips together, as she refrained from passing a glare at Dove in front of all this people and she walked away from there.
