After a long while.
Wang Hao helped Xia Xue up, "All right, rest for a bit, I’ll clean you up."
"Mm." Xia Xue nodded her head.
After washing her, Wang Hao carried Xia Xue to the bed, then he took a towel and began to wipe her body.
As Xia Xue lay in bed, a blissful smile hung on her face.
Although Wang Hao had put her through the wringer not long before, it did nothing to diminish Xia Xue’s infatuation with him.
Xia Xue felt her heart was intoxicated.
She never imagined she would have today with Wang Hao.
Wang Hao carefully wiped down Xia Xue’s body, and perhaps because she was too tired, she fell asleep while he was doing so.
Having gone through a day of troubles, Wang Hao was also tired, and he snuggled up with Xia Xue and slept soundly.
The next morning, the two of them hired a caregiver for Xia Youquan and, after arranging everything, they left with peace of mind to return to the village.
As soon as they walked through the door, they saw Huang Yufen curiously looking at a docunt bag. Seeing Wang Hao return, she imdiately ca forward and said,
"Haozi, you’re finally back. Soone ca early this morning to deliver a docunt for you, insisting that I hand it directly to you."
After saying that, she handed the docunt bag to Wang Hao.
Wang Hao opened the docunt bag and smiled happily, it seed Zhao Gang was quite efficient at his work.
Inside was the soil testing report he had sent, which was very detailed. Not only did it test for all trace elents, but it also included detailed recomndations on which crops were suitable to plant, as well as the thods and techniques for planting.
"Let see."
Xia Xue was also taken aback after reading the report.
As an agriculture university graduate, she had seen countless test reports, but never one so detailed.
Before they finished looking at the report, Wang Hao’s phone rang.
"Vice Director Wang, you’re pretty good at acting, fooling by saying you’re just an ordinary researcher. You really put through the wringer. You’ve got to make it up to later."
Seeing the call was from Wang Ming, Wang Hao answered and gave him an earful.
"No problem, no problem, I did it for the sake of facilitating work."
Wang Ming explained repeatedly on the other end and added, "Did you really lend your mbership card to Zhao Gang?"
"He’s already gone to the lab to get the dicine?"
Wang Hao said in surprise, not expecting Zhao Gang to be so quick; he had just left, and Zhao Gang had already gone to the laboratory with his mbership card.
But on reflection, it was understandable, since he was worried about his father’s health, getting the dicine sooner would an his father could get treated earlier.
"Yes, I told him to return it to you as soon as possible after he was done using it. If you haven’t received it by tomorrow, tell , and I’ll get it back for you."
Wang Ming reminded him kindly.
"Okay, thank you. I’ll let you know once I receive it."
"Alright."
The two chatted idly back and forth, but Wang Hao knew that with Wang Ming usually being so busy, today’s proactive call must be about more than just small talk.
Moreover, Wang Ming was so eager and took the initiative to ntion getting the mbership card back for him; it probably ant he had sothing he wanted Wang Hao’s help with.
"Director Wang, you didn’t call today just to chat with , did you? If there’s anything else, just tell ."
Wang Hao got straight to the point.
"Er..."
There was silence on the other end of the phone for a while, with Wang Ming sounding sowhat embarrassed as he spoke.
"Do you rember the four Red Giant Centipedes I bought from you before?"
"Of course, what about them?"
Wang Hao asked in return.
"They all died!"
Wang Ming said with a sigh, his tone full of regret.
"Isn’t it normal for your laboratory to slice and dice for experints, killing a few centipedes is pretty standard, right?"
Wang Hao said, sowhat puzzled.
"No, we treated those four Red Giant Centipedes like treasures, with three people taking turns to care for them every day. How could we bear to dissect them? Last ti I even made an effort to imitate the most suitable environnt for them in the test on the soil, but they still died!"
Wang Hao didn’t know what to say after hearing that.
Wang Ming sighed twice and said hesitantly,
"So... you see... is it possible..."
Wang Ming was really embarrassed to ask.
"You want to go back to the mountains and catch a couple more for you?"
Wang Hao seed to catch his drift and ventured a guess.
"..."
There was silence on the other end of the phone for a few seconds before Wang Ming sighed and said,
"I know how hard it is to find these Red Giant Centipedes, but I really have no other options, and I thought I could ask you to try and help catch a couple more. We can talk about the price."
"If that’s the case, then I can only say I’ll do my best to help you look for them, because you ntioned they are close to extinction and hard to find."
Wang Hao didn’t promise outright, aware that the presence of Red Giant Centipedes was closely related to the Blood Ganoderma. If all the Red Giant Centipedes were caught, what would happen to the Blood Ganoderma? He couldn’t be blinded by imdiate profits.
"I understand, just try your best to catch one for , and if you do, give a call. The lab is willing to pay four hundred thousand for one of yours."
When Wang Ming heard Wang Hao was willing to help him find centipedes, he instantly felt elated and promptly gave a generous offer to purchase the rare centipedes.
"Okay, I’ll get ready and check it out tonight."
Knowing he probably couldn’t do it alone, Wang Hao decided to seek out Su Zhenping.
After hanging up the phone, he said goodbye to Xia Xue and went out to Su Zhenping’s house.
"What? You’re going to catch Red Giant Centipedes again? I don’t agree..."
