"What am I going to do? What should I do?"
Having received the news, Wen Yonglin had hurried back and paced back and forth in his study room.
This was the Wen Family’s only grandson—if anything were to happen to Wen Zicong, if the old man were to bury his own grandson, how would he live with that?
Wen Xiangyong, on the other hand, was sowhat calr than the elder, remaining silent at the side, though his face looked very grim.
Wen Xiaowei was confined to her room by Wen Yonglin, who also assigned soone to keep watch over her, fearing that in her anxiety, she might rush out alone to find Wen Zicong and end up in danger herself.
As ti ticked away, the Wen Family mobilized all of their connections to search, nearly turning Zao City upside down, but Wen Zicong was nowhere to be found.
This plunged the Wen Family into an unprecedented state of panic.
"No, I can’t just sit here waiting, I have to go to the school and see!"
Wang Hao stood up and said.
Since the previous victims had all jumped from room 414 of the old dormitory building, and if the person behind this was really from Xing Hua, then he would probably make Wen Zicong jump from the old dormitory building as well.
Uncle Shen hastily grabbed Wang Hao, shaking his head while speaking.
"The old man has already asked people from The Church to look into this matter. They say that place is now filled with malevolent energy, too dangerous, you’d better not go and take that risk yourself!"
"What nonsense from The Church, I think it’s just a charlatan’s trick, watch how I’ll expose their true colors!"
Wang Hao could only shrug in frustration, thinking that Uncle Shen had weathered many storms in his life, so how could he be so foolish as to believe those charlatan’s tricks?
However, it didn’t take long for Wang Hao to revise his view and realize that he had misunderstood The Church.
Wang Hao, alone, went to the school. With the Wen Family’s influence, he easily gained entry.
In order not to startle the snake by hitting the grass, Wang Hao only allowed an old gatekeeper to accompany him to the school’s old dormitory building.
"Young man, you’re still so young, I advise you not to ddle blindly!"
The old gatekeeper suddenly said.
"..."
Struck speechless by the old man’s words, Wang Hao could only joke in response.
"A famous person once said, ’Life is short. How can we know our own worth if we don’t stir things up a bit? Now, while I’m still young, I’d better ddle as much as I can!"
"Who is that famous person? I’ve never heard that saying,"
The old man was taken aback.
"His na is Wang Hao. You must rember this na!"
Wang Hao said with a mysterious air.
"Wang Hao? Which dynasty is he from? I’ve never heard of such a famous person,"
The old man thought hard but couldn’t recall any famous person nad Wang Hao.
"This person, well, he’s not very famous yet, but I believe his na will echo throughout the land soday!"
Wang Hao said confidently.
"Then how do you know him?"
The old gatekeeper was completely led by the nose by Wang Hao.
"I forgot to introduce myself: my na is Wang Hao!"
Wang Hao said with all seriousness.
"You..."
The old man was montarily lost for words, having seen shaless people before, but never soone as brazen as Wang Hao.
When the two arrived at the old dormitory building of the school, the building was now cordoned off by a wall. It was a six-story building, and the main door was in ruins, its locks rusted through.
The old man had used considerable effort to pry open the gate, and upon entering, he saw that the space inside was rather large, but pitch-dark, looking quite frightening.
After the gate was opened, the old man refused to walk any further and turned to leave.
However, Wang Hao always felt that there was sothing odd about the old man, as if he was very reluctant to let Wang Hao enter the old dormitory building, but what did Wang Hao’s checking it out have to do with him?
Stepping through the gate, Wang Hao beca extrely alert, because soone had just died here, and it was impossible not to care.
If soone suddenly popped up now, it would indeed be quite a shock.
The gate faced a path that was pitch-black and lacked streetlights, leading all the way to the dormitory building.
There were so bushes and flowers on both sides of the path, but they had gone untended for years, now overgrown with weeds. When the wind blew, they rustled ominously, making one feel as though sothing monstrous was hiding within.
Fortunately, up until now, Wang Hao hadn’t noticed anything in the bushes staring at him.
Making up his mind, Wang Hao strode toward the dormitory building.
"ow—"
The mont he lifted his foot, a shrill cat’s cry ca from the bushes, followed by a shadow flashing across the path.
The sudden cat’s cry truly startled Wang Hao; he hastily halted to calm his nerves.
In the eerie darkness of the old dormitory building, even the sound of a dropped needle could be heard exceptionally clearly, let alone a cat’s cry.
Wang Hao was quite frightened, but after realizing it was just a cat, his mind eased considerably.
Thanks to the dim moonlight, he could barely make out the direction of the dormitory building and the path. Since the path was unnervingly strange, Wang Hao decided to quicken his pace.
Now the only sound in the entire courtyard was the pat-pat of Wang Hao’s quick footsteps, because it was so quiet here, and even that quietness was sowhat abnormal.
"Whoosh!"
Just as Wang Hao reached the bottom of the building, he suddenly saw a figure flit by a window on the first floor, and his hair stood on end.
In the dead of night, with no lights, how could there be anyone there?
This place was indeed creepy, and Wang Hao even thought about turning back.
But considering that Wen Zicong might have jumped off this building, he mustered up the courage to look inside.
At that mont, the entire dormitory building was deathly quiet, without a single sound.
However, the gate had been locked before he ca in, so if the shadow upstairs was indeed a person, how had that person gotten in? And if it wasn’t a person, what was it?
Wang Hao didn’t dare to think further, because in such a scene, thinking about these things unavoidably made one’s back feel chilly.
Wang Hao walked around the old dormitory building and found that one of the burglar proof nets on the first floor was damaged. The nearby plants clearly had traces of being trampled on, suggesting soone had climbed through here.
So Wang Hao followed suit and climbed through the damaged burglar proof net.
The inside of the corridor was still pitch black.
Thankfully, with the nourishnt of the Heart of the Dragon energy, Wang Hao’s hearing and eyesight were exceptionally sharp.
Even in an environnt where he couldn’t see his hand in front of his face, he could see more clearly than the average person.
Upon entering the first floor, Wang Hao looked toward the place where he had spotted the shadow, because the figure had flashed again.
Wang Hao hurriedly gave chase, wanting to get a clear view of whether the shadow was human or ghost, but as he charged forward, the shadow instantly vanished.
The entire corridor was empty, suddenly and utterly silent, so quiet that he could clearly hear his own breathing and heartbeat.
"Isn’t this a bit too quiet? Could there not even be a mouse or insect?"
The strange atmosphere of the entire building made Wang Hao feel extrely oppressed.
"Tap, tap, tap!"
Suddenly, a sequence of footsteps ca from above...
