Things were looking up for the Owl Claw dojo. But then another dojo appeared close to the Owl Claw and was giving away the basic breathing technique for free.
This basic breathing technique is the main source of inco for the Owl Claw dojo. After all, Master Owl Claw doesn't teach anyone the advance copy.
Forget about the children of poor families. Even children of rich families are tempted to ditch the Owl Claw dojo and attend the Red Dojo.
It hasn't helped that the alliance of the dojo had co to inspect the red dojo and found no problem with it. Now that the Red Dojo hasn't been closed down yet, it ans that the breathing technique that was being taught is the real deal.
The Owl Dojo now has three choices. Either they start selling the advance copy of the breathing technique or start giving the basic copy away for free, or they put a stop to the red dojo's free teaching of the basic copy of the breathing technique.
They had to do sothing, or they would be put out of business. They couldn't sell the advanced copy because it was the lifeline of the dojo.
If they teach others, then those whom they teach can go and start their own dojo or even take over the Owl Claw dojo in the future. It is sothing that has happened before.
So even though the value of the advanced copy of the breathing technique is as high as 100 gold coins, it will be shortsighted foolishness to teach it. It would be best to teach the basic copy for a tuition of 10 silver coins every month.
As long as they don't teach it well, they can collect 2 years worth of tuition from a single student. If they teach 300 students per month, they will earn 30 gold coins each month.
30 gold coins is enough to pay for their mbership in the alliance of dojo and their rent. They will even still have 28 gold coins in profit.
These 28 gold coins are why they can't use the second option and teach the basic copy of the breathing technique for free. With this money, Skylar can buy grand blood pills and use one to train every day.
The appearance of the Red Dojo so close to them is making them begin to lose money. Sothing had to be done to prevent the loss of their livelihood.
Since they can't teach the basic breathing technique for free, that leaves the third option. They have to put an end to Red Dojo's influence on their inco.
Skylar, who now considers the Owl Claw dojo property, couldn't sit still. He had to show up to defeat the master of the Red Dojo and show everyone why the Owl Claw dojo asks for tuition.
Arthur didn't learn all of these from the booklet that he bought for 10 silver coins. But the information in the booklet was enough for him to paint the full picture and make all of these inferences.
When he was done understanding why Skylar had challenged him, he smiled.
"I might not be able to defeat the old master owl claw, but I can surely beat his adopted son. In fact, old master owl claw should fight . If he can defeat , let see if he can brag about it."
He is confident in himself after finding out the strength of his enemy. He is confident of defeating Skylar as long as he is not like Brooks.
Even though Brooks said he was at the seventh transformation, Arthur couldn't defeat him despite having an effective power of 8.4. So sothing must be fishy about Brooks.
His upper limit was at the twelfth transformation, and his control was at 70%. He should have been able to defeat Brooks even if the old cook had 100% control.
There is no way Brooks would be at the 100% control. If he was, then he would be at the tenth transformation and should have transcended the first mortal coil.
Even if he was, 100% of the seventh transformation is an effective Power of 7. Yet, Arthur couldn't be defeated. So Brooks must have been lying about his power.
When Arthur rembers that fight, he shakes his head in amusent.
"Brooks has to be at least at the eighth transformation. He is probably at the ninth since he is older than Old Master Owl Claw."
He wouldn't be surprised to find out that Brooks was lying about his power. After everything that he has experienced at the hands of his mother, he would be surprised to find out that she hadn't lied about Brooks power.
As for why she would lie and still make it a must for him to defeat Brooks before he could leave, it was clearly so that he wouldn't be able to defeat Brooks and feel that he was weaker than he actually is.
She didn't know that he could see his level of power and skill, so she didn't fool him. He refused to obediently stay at hike and continue to train.
Brooks also didn't want to force him. It was why the old man acted as if he was defeated.
But his mother decided to intervene in the fight herself. She even broke his ribs and made him bedridden for many days for reasons that he doesn't know but is sure must have been part of a plan to make him stay at ho.
So as long as Skylar is not like Brooks, who was hiding his cultivation, he should be able to defeat the successor of the Owl Claw dojo.
Even if Skylar is hiding his cultivation, Arthur doubts he will be as skilled as Brooks. As long as Skylar's control is not higher than 90% and his cultivation is not higher than the ninth transformation, Arthur is confident in defeating him.
So there is no way this challenge will end badly for him. There are only upsides to the challenge for him, so he is looking forward to it.
