The angry gem emperor continued to say, "He said we had nothing to worry about them. But now they've invaded Aurora."
"Does that sound like sothing soone who we shouldn't be worried about can do? If they had invaded our howorld now, not Aurora, we would have been caught completely off guard and unprepared."
The Ivory Gem Emperor had beco calm when he heard the news of the invasion of Aurora. He didn't think that he is to be blad for the invasion of Aurora, but instead of defending himself, he asked all of them a question about sothing that was confusing him.
He said to them, "Why did they choose to invade Aurora, though?"
His question also confused them, so a fourth gem emperor asked him, "What do you an? Why did they choose to invade Aurora? Is there any other reason other than the acquisition of resources?"
The Ivory Gem Emperor shook his head and said, "I don't an that. I ant, why did they pick Aurora out of the many options of worlds that we control to invade?"
"We have many worlds under our control, but they chose to invade Aurora even though it is one of the most fortified, if not the most fortified, worlds under our control. And they didn't choose to invade our howorld either."
"So I believe that either there is sothing very important in Aurora that they want to get, or Aurora is the only world under our control that they can invade. If it is the forr, we have very little to worry about. But if it's the latter, then we have to figure out why they picked Aurora."
A fifth gem emperor thought about what he said before saying, "It could be that Aurora is the only world that they could find, or it is the closest one to them that they could reach."
When the fourth gem emperor heard this, his eyes lit up, and he said, "If they are close to Aurora and considering the short ti since their last invasion, it will an that their original world is close to Aurora. That ans, if we look around Aurora, we might be able to find their ho world."
The prospect of finding the howorld of the enemy and invading it filled all of them with anticipation. Even the angry gem emperor had cald down sowhat and was willing to admit that things weren't so bad.
The angry Gen emperor was even willing to apologize to the Ivory Gem Emperor. But before he could, the Ivory Gem Emperor shook his head and doused their enthusiasm by saying, "I don't think things are so favorable."
Before they could ask him what he ant, he explained his thoughts to them, saying, "I think the reason they found Aurora is that we used it as a base to communicate with them. I believe that this is the case because that's how they found Aries, too."
"Soone from Aries had reached out to them, so they invaded Aries. Then we sent an envoy to negotiate with them from Aurora, and they also invaded Aurora. One ti can be by chance, but I refuse that the sa thing happening twice in a row is a coincidence."
What he said made the other gem emperors frown. It wasn't that they disagreed with what he said. What he said was reasonable. They just didn't like what he said and its implications.
The sixth gem emperor said as he frowned, "If you're right, then it must an that they must have an easy way to find a world through communication lines. This ans that we must sever all communication channels between Aurora in order to prevent them from finding our howorld."
A seventh gem emperor also weighed in and said, "What I am most concerned about is where their howorld is and how far it is from Aurora. If their howorld is very far from Aurora, then their void ship must be very fast for it to be able to go back ho and go to Aurora."
"Even if they went to Aurora directly from Aries, that void ship still has to be fast. This is because, from the information we have, it should only be six months since they subdued Aries and cut it off from us. So their void ship has to be very fast because the distance between Aries and Aurora spans the width of our star empire."
"And even if this void ship is different from the one that invaded Aries and it left their howorld after they learned of the location of Aurora, the void ship still has to be very fast to reach us in this short amount of ti."
"Any way I look at it, these enemies have technology that is at least on par with us or even better than us. Not only can they find worlds through communication channels, but they can also cut off an entire world from our leystone network, and they have a fast void ship that can traverse the void easily."
"So I believe that this enemy will be a terrifying enemy to deal with. And if they find our howorld, we will be in for a terrible war."
His words sank the mood of the gem emperors even further. But after they had weighed the situation, they decided to start planning for an invasion of their howorld.
As for Aurora, they chose to cut off reinforcent and Communication with it completely. This caught the gem people in Aurora off guard.
The peak-level gem king who had inford the gem emperors of the identity of the invaders had done so in order to petition for more support and troops. He had told them that information in order to make them realize that the enemy he was dealing with wouldn't be easy to beat, so they should send more help.
But the gem emperors had taken his warning too seriously and decided to treat the invaders with the utmost caution. Instead of risking exposure by maintaining contact with Aurora, they surrendered it completely to the enemy.
