Three divisions combine into one battalion, and each battalion is led by a golden core elder. These golden core elders are the battalion commanders and are 10 in number. They are the three-star troops.
The 10 three-star golden core elder battalion commanders are different from the 60 two-star golden core division commanders in that the battalion commanders are disciples of the Blood Skull sect, while the division commanders are the disciples of the three ancestors from upstream Ethera.
The disciples of the Blood Skull sect use the rank 7 cultivation techniques of the sect and also possess an armant. So not only is their cultivation technique of a higher quality, but they are also twice as strong as their pairs with the sa cultivation.
On the other hand, the disciples of the three unity realm ancestors only use a maximum of rank 6 cultivation techniques, and they don't possess armants. This is why, even though the disciples of the three ancestors are far more than the disciples of the Blood Skull sect, they are actually weaker than the true disciples of the Blood Skull sect.
This massive difference in power is also why the disciples of the Blood Skull sect get to be battalion commanders while the disciples of the three ancestors can only be division commanders. It is also why, even though Arthur is only at the fourth mortal coil, he is the only five-star troop in the army.
Above the three-star battalion commanders are the three nascent soul regint commanders. The three nascent soul regint commanders are four-star troops. Each one controls 3 battalions, which makes a total of nine battalions.
As for the last tenth battalion, this is directly under Arthur's control. This battalion is called the special battalion. This is because all of the 3,000 troops in the 3 divisions that make it up are all disciples of the Blood Skull sect and are at or near the peak of the third mortal coil.
