Spike, the gem person who used to be a gem king before his body was destroyed by the previous Snow King, is one of the gem people who survived the massacre of his people. He survived because of his current weak state.

He managed to slip past the three patriarchs because of his non-threatening power level, while other gem kings were killed. Despite surviving because of luck, he was still going about causing trouble for the Blood Skull army.

He is the one who the first Sun King is in contact with. They are communicating with small leystones, which also survived the purge of the three patriarchs.

The Sun King was in the safety of the South Pole, hovering above a leystone, while Spike was sowhere far underground, standing in front of a small leystone.

The face of the other person could be seen on their respective leystones. The face of Spike was that of a polished blue gem, while the face of the Sun King was a round, bright face of red burning flas.

The Sun King said anxiously, "They have co for my life. You have to help ."

Spike said to him, "There is nothing I can do. Unless we gather all the small leystones and combine them into one large one, which we connect to the keystone network of our howorld, there is no way to receive any reinforcents."

The Sun King raised his voice as he urged him, "What are you waiting for? Do you want to die before you gather the small leystones? Go and gather them now. Then combine them as soon as possible."

The Sun King’s tone made Spike angry. So he replied with an irritated voice, "Do you think a fool? Can’t I think of sothing so common sense by myself? Do I need you to tell what to do and when I should do it?"

He continued angrily without waiting for the Sun King to reply, "Of course, I know what to do, and I realize that the situation is very urgent. But I can’t gather the small leystones without exposing myself. Once I’m exposed, I’ll die."

"Secondly, even if we manage to gather the small leystone and combine them, there is no way that those invaders won’t sense the massive energy fluctuations of the large leystone. So it will be as if I built a beacon drawing them to my position."

"And even if I run away after the large leystone is built in order to preserve my life, that won’t stop them from finding the leystone and destroying it like they did to the previous one. So that way won’t work."

"To top things off, reinforcent will take ti. It will take at least four weeks. Do you think you can last for four more weeks?"

After ranting about his reasons for a few seconds, he cald down and turned to the Sun King for his response.

What he said made the Sun King feel despair. He sighed and said, "They killed those powerful five gem kings with power at the peak of the world, so they will surely be able to kill . There is no way I can survive for four more weeks at this rate."

The Sun King sighed again and said, "Is this the end? But I don’t want to die."

Spike also sighed and said, "You are our ally, and we shouldn’t neglect you. If you die, this world will be lost to us completely. So we have to try our best in order to help you."

"In light of this, I will contact the Ivory Gem Emperor and suggest sothing that would usually put my life at risk. I will suggest that we negotiate with the invaders and share the world with them. That way, we won’t have to keep fighting, and your life will be spared."

There are two things that gem people like a lot. They are sleep and precious materials. To rob a gem person of one of these things is enough to want to kill you.

Gem people care a lot about precious materials and don’t want to give them up at any cost, which is why suggesting sharing a large mining world like Aries with an enemy is considered treason.

Of course, gem people can reason and won’t let greed blind them. They know that half a loaf of bread is better than none. So they know that it will be a smart thing to suggest cooperating with the invaders if the alternative is to lose the world of Aries completely.

But this suggestion will only be considered a smart one if Spike’s superior, the Ivory gem emperor, believes that there is nothing else that can be done. His suggestion might get him killed if the Ivory gem emperor believes that the situation can still be salvaged.

This is one of the reasons why Spike hasn’t dared to make the suggestion. But with the life of the last support they have in Aries at risk, he decided that it was ti to make the suggestion.

The Sun King brightened visibly when he heard that there was another way to save his life. But after thinking about this option, his hope dwindled and wilted.

His brightness dimd as he said, "Even if the gem emperor accepts your suggestion and implents it, I don’t think the invaders will accept it because they don’t have any reason to. They have all the power and are about to win completely. Why would they choose to cooperate with you?"

Spike said, "Good question. You have stumbled onto the second reason why I haven’t made the suggestion yet."

"We don’t have anything to threaten the invaders currently, so it is unlikely that they will accept the offer to cooperate. But I won’t let this stop from making the suggestion to the Ivory Gem Emperor."

"I will let the Ivory Gem Emperor decide if my suggestion is a good idea or not. I am sure that they are wise enough to find a solution."
