There are many words to describe those on the path of energy refining. These words include cold, calculating, obsessed, and logical. They are not emotional beings like those on the path of body refining.
He learned about these things from his mother after reaching the ninth transformation. So he understands why she behaves how she does sotis.
He can complain about it, but he can't complain too much because it is sowhat of a good thing that his mother is on the path of body refining.
It is because she is on that path that she wanted him to do well only for her to give up on him when it looked like he didn't stand a chance. Then she ca around and beca dedicated to helping him beco stronger.
If she were on the path of energy refining, she wouldn't have cared about him at all. When she learned about his growth spurt, instead of worrying about his safety and doing everything she could to keep it a secret, she would have investigated the source of his unreasonable power and tried to take it from him.
No, it is still not an option for her to try to try and steal his source of power. She will if she finds out that his source of power is not his bloodline and is instead his actions of giving charity.
This is why he hasn't ntioned to her that he gained a three-tis boost to his power recently. He has maintained his power at a two-tis boost when he spars with her.
In fact, he suspects that the reason she is sparing with him is to test him and see if there are any changes in him. So her presence is not exactly welco.
But his relationship with his mother, despite being fraught with a lot of danger and pain, has taught him a lot of lessons. At the very least, he knows with utmost certainty that he mustn't tell anyone about the Mountain Sitting Dao.
After all, if he can't trust his mother, who can he trust? The correct answer is that he can't trust anyone but himself and the power of his fist.
After arguing with his mother for a long while about the price of the giant sword and its replacent, they eventually settled on her buying him a new one.
He wasn't exactly satisfied with that decision because he has a suspicion that she is buying it for cheap sowhere. That would explain why she is comfortable shattering it like that.
He wants her to spend a lot of money on the replacent in hopes that maybe it will prevent her from destroying it in the future. He can only hope, though. After all, she can be unreasonable sotis.
He returned to his seat and poured himself another glass of wine since his mother had taken his previous one.
Then he asked her, "What are you here for, to be exact?"
She scoffed and said, "Can't I just co here to see my son?"
He scoffed in return. "Not with a tone like that. I don't believe that you ca all the way here from the Dyson family to see only for you to break my weapon as soon as you arrived and behave as if I forced you here. You can be unreasonable sotis, but you are too smart and scheming to behave like that."
She nodded in agreent and said, "You're right. I didn't co here for you."
He smiled and said smugly, "I knew it."
She rolled her eyes at him. "Guessing that I didn't co for you isn't that great of an achievent."
"Anyway. I ca here in order to hunt."
He looked at her strangely when he heard that. Then he said, "You hunt? Why?"
"Not thay it is any of your business. But I've been keeping an eye on a certain python. I want its scales to make it into a special dress. Unfortunately, carcasses at the second mortal coil are very expensive. The cheapest one can go for 1,000 gold coins, and it can reach up to 10,000 gold coins."
"Plus, at my stage, mortal money begins to lose its effect. Other cultivators want blood pills, weapons, or spirit stones. I am severely lacking in those since I'm still weak in the second mortal coil, and I just recently beca one. I also lack influence. The title of mistress is worth nothing in the second mortal coil. So I had the idea to hunt the beast myself."
He nodded in agreent and said, "It is a good idea. That way you won't be so lazy anymore and put on weight."
She threw her glass cup at his head in anger.
He flicked the cup away and watched it shatter on the ground in the distance. anwhile, she picked up the whole bottle of wine and began drinking from it directly.
From the way she was drinking, he was willing to bet that she would finish the whole bottle soon. It would be a bad thing because he only has a little wine left in his cup.
As he was watching her guzzle the wine, he sighed and said, "I guess I deserve that."
She smacked her lips after a while and said, "Good wine. I hope it won't make fat."
He groaned because he had confird from her that she would finish the wine. She intends to finish it. The only thing she is worried about is not gaining weight after.
She continued, "I want to hunt. But I don't dare enter the green forest without so plan and assurance. Beasts at the second mortal coil are fiercely territorial. It ans that as long as I don't enter their territory, they won't bother with . But as soon as I enter their territory, they will surely co after ."
"This rule is easy to understand. It ans that what I will fight in the green forest is not dependent on what I am looking for. It is dependent on whose territory I enter first. If the python is nowhere around, I would have to fight sothing else. I don't like that."
