The boar was at least three tis as big as both n combined. It had great strength, extraordinary vitality, and an enormous size. It wasn't sothing a single one of them could handle despite it being at the eighth transformation.
If the boar were at the ninth transformation, the two of them wouldn't be able to kill it. They would need two more n to have a chance at killing it before their fight draws too much attention.
