Chapter 381: Chapter 317: Things Are Getting More Interesting (Request for Monthly Ticket)

Outside the Heavenly Fragrance Building, the cold wind was bone-chilling, and the snow was harsh.
Inside, warmth was welcoming, with the faint sound of strings and woodwinds.
On the thirty-second floor, inside an empty central layer, a huge round stone platform hung from four flying locks in the massive skywell. Several pillars stood around the platform, beautifully engraved with cloud patterns and painted with flying celestial figures.
At this mont, the platform was filled with exotic singers dressed in dazzling Ni Chang, singing and dancing gracefully. Their movents were supple and smooth, gliding through the air, their skirts fluttering, resembling flying goddesses, eliciting continuous cheers from those leaning on the railings.
On the thirtieth floor, a local colonel clad in red Feiyu Clothes led a group of soldiers to a room’s entrance, inviting them in with laughter, seeing their eyes following the Western Regions Dancers on the skywell’s stone platform, even Vice General Hu, couldn’t help but pause his gaze montarily and smiled.
“How about it, Vice General Hu?”
“These Western Regions Dancers of Heavenly Fragrance Building are second to none. I wasn’t wrong, was I?”
With those words, Vice General Hu, dressed in red armor, about twenty-seven or twenty-eight years old, with thin lips and a hint of coolness between his brows, nodded his head,
“Who would’ve thought that in this desolate place, one could find such a tender land. These Hu People’s Flying Sky Dance is sowhat different from that of the Capital, quite intriguing indeed. However, this place falls far short of the flourishing splendor of the Imperial Capital, inhabited mostly by those not versed in elegance.”
While speaking, his eyes slanted slightly, his tone carried condescension and a subtle arrogance.
The Red Dress Colonel hurriedly agreed, laughing along:
“Vice General Hu’s words are natural. How can this place compare to the bustling Imperial Capital? The General has traveled thousands of miles from the Imperial Capital, naturally having broader vision. However, Tianxiong Pass connects to the Western Regions, and many Hu People co here for trade, adding a more intense local flavor. I have arranged the best musicians and dancers and a banquet in the building to comfort you all.”
“Please!”
With that, he gestured an invitation.
Vice General Hu, seeing the colonel’s decent attitude, nodded, strode into the room with pride.
One by one, the rest followed.
As this line of soldiers entered the room and the door shut behind them, whispers imdiately filled the corners outside, echoing in the corridors.
“Hmph, such arrogance, deaning our entire hall as lacking in elegance, he’s just a Tao Seed, what’s there to be pompous about.”
“He’s from the Imperial Capital, acting all high and mighty here. Relying on the skin he’s wearing, make him take it off, and you’ll see, with all the heroes inside the border, a man as arrogant as him won’t live to see tomorrow.”
“Hush! Mind your words. These are the Vanguard Army personally dispatched by the Demon Suppression Envoy. It’s rumored that the newly appointed Demon Suppression Envoy is arriving soon with a large force. Who knows if it won’t be like when Hell King Chen first took office, setting off three fires. You don’t want to provoke soone you shouldn’t.”
“Ah, speaking of Hell King Chen, I get goosebumps all over. His experiences can only be described as legendary. I thought the Demon Suppression Envoy position would be taken up by this tough character. It’s said that this lord broke through in the Martial Vault on the Demon Battlefield, sealing a crucial victory, and with a renowned reputation, now sits in Jingguan City holding considerable power. I’m afraid the handover won’t be smooth!”
“That’s true. The Court’s thinking is a mystery. If it were , I wouldn’t be pleased either. Isn’t this just dampening the spirits of our Shu Soldiers? Our Shu people were the ones who died.”
“That’s for sure. But others don’t care about that. There’s likely to be quite a show. Haven’t you seen? That Red Feiyu Clothes, a Local Sky Patrol Departnt Colonel, isn’t he now mixing with the troops of the new Demon Suppression Envoy?”
“……….”
Among these murmurs, many Shu people felt this was unfair.
Although Hell King Chen had a notorious reputation, and his suppression of rebellions led to countless beheadings which could silence a crying child at Tianxiong Pass, he had indeed made substantial achievents for Shu and was widely spoken of in legends. Many naturally presud that this resolute and sudden ergence of the Colonel would beco the next Demon Suppression Envoy for Shu, only to receive this news.
However, many from other places watched this with indifference or schadenfreude, ready for the drama.
Now within Tianxiong Pass, heroes abound, dragons and tigers lie hidden, with various plans in mind. Apart from the rumors of ‘Luck’ swirling fervently over Shu’s unusual July snowfall which lasted more than ten days, all eyes were eagerly watching for the arrival of the new Demon Supression Envoy with his troops and the potential clash with that legendary Shu Colonel.
The arrival of the Vanguard Army of the Demon Suppression Envoy inside the Heavenly Fragrance Building had now stoked these discussions.
While diverse opinions buzzed within the building, at the top level of Heavenly Fragrance Building, a window was quietly closed. An exotic woman with her face covered by a golden veil, revealing only her eyes, with a dot of golden powder on her forehead, wearing a bra-top glittering with golden sequins that exposed her navel, gingerly approached another stunningly beautiful woman.
“Miss, that group of soldiers has entered room C on the thirtieth floor!”
The woman addressed as “Miss,” clad in a large purple embroidered dress, her black curly hair cascading to her waist like a waterfall, eyes deep and mysterious like dark blue lakes, a tall nose, arched brows like crescent moons, her skin like snow, and a golden bird mark on her forehead.
She was none other than the owner of Heavenly Fragrance Building, the forr Princess of Loulan, An Ge!
Currently, An Ge was not in her usual Western Regions attire but donned in a large embroidered robe, hiding her increasingly voluptuous and beautiful figure, her willow-like eyebrows slightly furrowed, sitting in an armchair with a faint coldness on her beautiful face.
In front of her were several Hu People kneeling on the ground, and a Hu elder, who was humiliated earlier at the entrance of Heavenly Fragrance Building, was now having his hands treated and bandaged by a maid.
“Mi Ayi, go and find out what this group of soldiers and that Colonel Xu Xiangdong from Sky Patrol Departnt are discussing and what their intentions are.”
“Make sure to figure it out!”
“””
“I have a bad feeling.”
An Ge’s voice was a bit cold, and sowhat tense.
She had an ominous premonition!
Or maybe it was just nerves.
The Court had newly dispatched a Demon Suppression Envoy, heading this way with a large army, and their vanguard had already taken command of Tianxiong Pass. Her own man was currently stationed in Jingguan City. She knew Chen Yuan’s “ambitions”; this news was very disadvantageous for Chen Yuan. The signal released by the Court, as well as the inevitability of the current situation suggested that a Colonel, who everyone thought would be the next Demon Suppression Envoy with power in hand, now faced a newcor Envoy. What would the new Envoy choose to do?
The obvious answer: to suppress!
She had seen too many such maneuvers in her early years as a Princess.
“Yes!” A Western Regions beauty shrouded in golden gauze nodded. After Chen Yuan had killed the Beiliang Guest Xiahou Yuan at the Heavenly Fragrance Building, he had interrogated this woman who had fled from Xiahou Yuan’s side, and finding trouble, she had lied. Afterward, frightened out of her wits by Chen Yuan’s Marriage Dream, she implicated her own “mistress”.
Mi Ayi complied and left.
“You may leave as well,” An Ge said to the several kneeling Hu People, then turned her gaze to the elderly Hu man with a calm expression, saying gently, “Bo Wa, go rest well. I will seek justice for you.”
But the weathered face of the elderly Hu man wrinkled further, and he coughed in his stooped fra, kneeling down, “Princess, it’s not worth starting trouble with these soldiers for an old wreck like . I’ve survived all these years. Once accustod, it’s fine.”
“Princess must carefully plan for the nation’s restoration and take revenge as soon as possible.”
These words pierced An Ge’s heart like a thorn, causing a montary lapse in her focus. She had harbored thoughts of backing down because of the new life within her, but she knew she could not. Despite knowing that hope was slim, she still needed to persevere, for behind her were the lives of thousands of her tribesn and the hatred for her nation.
“Rest assured, I know my limits!” Taking a deep breath, she felt suppressed, her heartbeat quickening as if sothing was about to happen.
Soon, her subordinates left, and the room fell quiet.
At this ti, a certain sound in the room beca clear.
“Heh heh heh heh…”
It was as though a dog was panting.
Hearing this sound, An Ge felt slightly more settled, and her fair and delicate hand gently touched her stomach.
……
On the thirtieth floor, behind a vermilion door, a Hu servant led the way, followed by a group of fair-faced, eyebrow-marked Western Regions musicians and dancers carrying Huqin and Pipa instrunts, barefooted, delicately advancing with soft lotus steps and short, detailed strides, arriving in front of Sky Character Room C.
The Hu servant with a green hat shouted at the door, “My lord, the music you requested is here!”
“Co in!”
The voice of the local officer, Xu Xiangdong, resonated from inside, followed by the door opening.
anwhile, on the twenty-eighth floor, two figures were being led by the building’s servant to a room.
These two figures, one robust, the other slim.
One was tall and stalwart, nine feet in height, draped in a half garnt with the other half exposing his body, his muscles like coiled dragons, filled with sheer strength. His face square, eyes like big copper bells, and a beard covered his face, with light golden eyebrows and hair, all exuding a wild and arrogant vitality.
The other was a petite woman with a lon-seed face and cherry lips, wearing a black dress with high slits, revealing large patches of snow-white skin on her thighs, draped in a shoulder cape, with a fiery figure. As she walked, her hips swayed endlessly alluringly, and her eyes shimred with a light purple hue, exuding exotic charm.
In theory, such a provocative and hot woman walking through the bustling Heavenly Fragrance Building would attract many people’s eyes, but it did not happen.
These two seed to co from an exotic realm, following the servant while scanning everything in the Heavenly Fragrance Building.
Suddenly, the black-dressed woman’s gaze towards the upper floor stalled, a strange light flickering within her faint purple pupils as if recalling sothing, then her body abruptly halted.
“What now?”
The muscular, golden-haired man beside her, his arms strong as racing horses, crossed before his chest, his voice buzzing impatiently – clearly the sa person from the alley earlier with a hoarse voice.
The black-dressed woman’s eyes curled into an intriguing smile, “Golden Lion, what a surprise. I never expected to see soone who should have died six years ago right here, things seem to be getting more and more interesting.”
Smiling, the woman with bewitching purple eyes looked towards the direction of the thirtieth floor’s Sky Character Room C, her gaze focusing on one of the dancers shrouded in a golden veil. She then watched as the woman entered the room.
The scene shifted to Sky Character Room C, where a group of musicians and dancers were entering.
The local Heavenly Patrol Military Officer, Xu Xiangdong, saw the leading dancer, his eyes slightly brightening with surprise, “I rember Miss Mi has retired from performing, unexpected to see you here too.”
“I heard you were frightened by the Nine Colonels and shut your doors to guests, disappointing many. So, how co you are here now?”
