Chapter 45: Chapter 45: Have you turned my farm into a daycare? Chapter 45: Chapter 45: Have you turned my farm into a daycare? The dawn was just breaking.

Xu Yang got up early today, and the first thing he did was to check on the chicken and duck houses.

The little ones were all in their rooms, safe and sound.

Being alive is what matters.

Every evening, the chickens and ducks would be herded into the rooms and the doors shut to ensure their safety.

In the morning, the doors would be opened to let them move around the yard.

Li Shan was also up and busy working.

Xu Yang paid him well, and he worked very hard. Li Shan was very grateful to Xu Yang, feeling a sense of “loyalty to those who appreciate him.”

Little Black followed Xu Yang around as they inspected the farm.

The little guy was clever, almost like having the air of a sword-wielding bodyguard.

Just then, Xu Yang saw from a distance a big bus arriving, carrying so people who were inspecting sothing on the open ground.

He took out his binoculars and looked on curiously.

Just then Li Shan ca over, and he asked:

“What’s going on there? Do you know?”

Upon hearing this, Li Shan replied:

“Brother Yang, my mom told that the Agricultural University has leased this land to create experintal fields. They arrived last month.”

“I also inquired about it, they say there are many sophomores and juniors, each responsible for a plot of land, studying farming and such.”

Xu Yang nodded.

“I see.”

“The university itself doesn’t have enough land for farming, so they have contracted land here too.”

“But that makes sense, they have a lot of people.”

Xu Yang felt quite emotional.

So people study hard so they don’t have to farm, while others study hard precisely for farming.

Agricultural universities everywhere are similar; starting in their second year, students have to go down to the fields every day to farm.

In essence, it’s doing farm work every day and then recording all kinds of data about the crops they grow.

The older generation still holds on to the notion that those who farm are unsuccessful, while the young people refresh the previous generation’s perceptions with their own thods.

Those who farm are top students.

The land contracted by the Agricultural University is about two kiloters away from here, making them neighbors.

Seeing this situation, Xu Yang also contacted the land resource departnt to increase the lease area.

He fenced off a piece of land outside the farm, expanding its total area from 50 to 110 acres.

He might not need it now, but it’s good to lease it first.

After finishing these tasks and so more farm work, half the day had passed.

In the afternoon, the cunning little foxes ran over to play on the farm again.

After getting close to Xu Yang, they seed to expect sothing.

It was clear that they harbored no wariness.

Xu Yang could tell they were looking for food.

“You three, do you think my farm is a daycare?”

Xu Yang couldn’t help but laugh as he said it.

Fortunately, he rembered that there were still two pieces of sugar cake left from the morning, so he went to the kitchen, got the sugar cakes, found a chair to sit on, and called the little foxes over.

The three little guys were sowhat anxious.

Foxes are very cute; their back fur is reddish, their belly fur white, and all four legs black.

Moreover, they belong to the species that are friendly to humans.

They even like humans a lot.

“Co on, co here for the cakes,”

Xu Yang tore off a piece of sugar cake, the white sugar inside had cooled off, glistening and generally tasting sweet, which suited the little foxes’ dietary habits.

The three little ones looked at the sugar cake in Xu Yang’s hand but didn’t dare to co forward.

Xu Yang just held it out to them, not understanding.

“Co on, eat the cake!”

He called out again.

Finally, one of the little foxes couldn’t resist the temptation of the delicious food and tentatively walked toward Xu Yang.

It kept low to the ground as if ready to run away at any mont.

When it got close, it quickly grabbed the sugar cake and imdiately ran a couple of steps backward.

Seeing its reaction, Xu Yang laughed too.

He tore off another piece and reached out.

“You two, want so?”

The other two Little Foxes, seeing this, grew bolder and also ran over, grabbing the sugar cakes and scurrying away.

The three little rascals began to chew on the sweet sugar cakes.

They were quite excited, even making soft yipping sounds that seed like they were communicating sothing.

They really liked Xu Yang’s farm.

Spacious, bustling, safe, and with delicious food.

The most important thing was the tasty food.

They would have to co often in the future.

“Here, have so more,” said Brother Yang.

Xu Yang tore off another piece of sugar cake.

This ti the foxes were much braver; they ran straight over, grabbed the sugar cakes, and started eating right there without running away.

Xu Yang sat in his chair, watching them with a smile.

He was very fond of these wild creatures.

Cute and genuine.

The sugar cake was quickly devoured; Little Black snacked on a few pieces as well.

After finishing the sugar cakes, the Little Foxes, seeing Xu Yang’s hands empty, started to frolic by his side.

Two of the Little Foxes lay in the grass, playfighting.

The other quietly sat by Xu Yang’s side, curiously sizing him up.

For so reason, Xu Yang could tell at a glance that this quiet Little Fox was a girl.

With more encounters, he was able to roughly distinguish an animal’s gender.

Xu Yang reached out his hand to her, “Co here.”

The Little Fox looked at Xu Yang and then slowly approached.

Xu Yang imdiately stroked its head.

The Little Fox yipped happily, seeming especially content.

This Little Fox seed the most obedient and the cutest, while the other two were far rowdier, constantly tumbling and playing in the bushes.

Xu Yang had not expected that, after initially suspecting these three little ones of stealing chickens, they would now beco friends of the farm.

The Little Fox was overjoyed, continuously making yipping sounds, its eyes crescenting into joyful curves.

No wonder King Zhou was so chard by these creatures.

They were just too adorable.

Xu Yang didn’t plan to do much; he simply sat in the shade for the entire afternoon.

Every now and then, he would play with his phone, have an ice cream, and tease the Little Foxes.

When they saw him eating an ice cream, the Little Foxes imdiately stopped their play and gathered around.

They were evidently fond of the farm’s fare.

Occasionally, Xu Yang would stand up and glance outside the farm.

The students from Agricultural University had begun to allocate plots of land for cultivation.

Each student had a piece of land where they would grow crops as part of their end-of-term assignnt.

One of the farms had several houses converted into their cafeteria and resting area.

When Xu Yang had free ti, he could also watch the university students farm.

It felt quite interesting.

The day drifted by leisurely.

That’s the benefit of running a farm; when you’re not busy, you’re really not busy, and there’s no boss to get uneasy over your free ti and force work upon you.

The Treasure Compass could be used twice in total.

For now, Xu Yang had no plans to head into the mountains.

He needed to strategize about what to do for tomorrow’s live broadcast.

He still needed to accumulate popularity value.

Xu Yang thought about taking the ducklings to the riverside for so fun, but the ducklings were too small now and couldn’t be herded too far away.

It would be better to wait another two months.

So, he decided to go by himself.

He’d stroll to the riverbank and pick so wild ferns.

Wild ferns are a kind of wild vegetable with a delightful taste.

July was just the right season for them to mature.

When you live near the mountains, you utilize them – aside from the mountain runner who enters the mountain in search of valuable goods, many villagers would also go into the mountains.

But rather than seeking out valuable items, they’d look for plentiful, ubiquitous wild vegetables.

They weren’t worth much, but they were delicious.

These were things you couldn’t buy elsewhere.

As he had the ti, he planned to gather so to eat when he returned.
