Raul POV.

Boredom is killing .

Seriously, theology class ans nothing when you already know everything.

But the reason I’m even here isn’t to learn theology; it’s to watch Professor Kynar Voss’s every move.

The guy’s a good teacher, but his soul has started to darken slightly.

He’s planning sothing, and I’m the only one who knows.

Because in the ga, this guy was a mid-boss.

Right after Andras, in the next major event, he was there.

Yeah, and the bastard’s motive was completely ridiculous from the start.

The dude wanted to summon the Whore of Babylon he read about in the Bible.

Pure madness, but this world is partly dark fantasy anyway.

For God’s sake, the Whore of Babylon is strong.

Even in the ga, the only reason Lara beat her was the "power of friendship" bullshit.

But I have a feeling this event will let find out who betrayed .

There are still two months until that event happens.

Safe for now.

After that, Lara will go to the dungeons.

Yes, dungeons...

How else do you plan to grow strong enough to oppose a demon god in an oto ga?

But there’s one thing about the dungeons nobody knows.

They are gates to other worlds.

Yeah, multiverse type shit.

There’s a very detailed explanation for it in the story, but I don’t care.

I want to enter a dungeon too, but one I never saw in the ga.

I gave Lara a subtle power that will unconsciously lead her to the hidden piece that will make her stronger.

That way, she’ll be able to find them instinctively.

Academy students are free to roam the city, but entering dungeons requires permission.

I’m carefully observing Professor Kynar Voss.

The guy stopped ssing with , and right after this class, I have to go to the director’s office.

Artemis was dozing off beside , and Professor Kynar didn’t care.

His philosophy was "if you sleep in my class, you’re the one who loses."

But the real thing was Saint Maria staring at like a madwoman.

I haven’t seen her since the cetery.

I’ve been a little busy torturing Andras’s soul.

I wanted to turn his soul into a tarot card, but it’s better not to.

Gathering three major souls first and dealing with this later is smarter.

Soul farming is still ongoing, but I’m not putting much effort into it.

I’m just looking for potential candidates inside the academy whose souls might be worth taking.

The class ended without noticing; I stuffed all my books into my bag.

I lightly poked Artemis. "Hey Art, class is over, let’s go."

"Hmm... five more minutes... zzz..." Damn, you think I won’t hit a woman?

I delivered the sweet fist of justice to Artemis’s forehead. "Ow, what was that for?!"

"Co on, you’ll be late for class," I said.

Artemis’s eyes widened, and she ran off.

She was going to be late for the archery lesson.

But almost everyone had left the classroom; only Saintess Maria remained.

I ignored her and headed for the door.

I would’ve kept going if she hadn’t called out. "Which angel did you make a contract with?"

"What nonsense are you talking about?" This woman is overstepping.

She slowly walked toward . "You can’t hide it from . I’m God’s chosen saintess."

She stood there, full of pride.

"None of your business, saintess." I tried to walk away.

But she grabbed my arm.

My eyes widened; I pushed her hand off. "Saintess, if you don’t want to kill you, stop."

"Are you sure you want to talk to like that? Should I call the inquisition? Or should I destroy you right here?" She stood proudly.

I chuckled. "Idiot, if it weren’t for , you’d be dead. Super dead."

"You’re so rude."

"They all say that."

I walked away because I don’t want to be seen with Saintess Maria.

I’m just preparing for the upcoming event.

Arcadia Academy, Director’s Office.

I stand in front of Director Stella.

She’s smoking.

An incredibly beautiful woman, but she trembles every ti she looks at .

"I left you alone for a week, but you have to give an explanation," she said.

She looked exhausted.

I narrowed my eyes. "Why?"

She slamd the desk; she looks crazier than I right now.

"They want to know why so many people died when a 6th-tier was present. What am I supposed to tell them? And the only thing you left of Andras was a skeleton!" She was grinding her teeth.

Wow, this woman is pretty brave, even though she knows who I am.

I chuckled. "There are things even I struggle to interfere with."

"First, sit down. This will be a long conversation."

I slowly sat in the chair.

I’m sure Stella has lost it.

Whatever.

"Ahem, so what is this thing you struggle to interfere with?" Stella asked.

She used a spell; a cup of tea slowly appeared in front of .

I took a small sip. "Fate."

"Fate?" Stella looked highly skeptical.

I slowly looked into the director’s trembling eyes; she knows what I’m talking about.

"Director, if it weren’t for , everyone there—including the hero—would be gone."

"Still, they need proof of your involvent..."

Suddenly, ten corpses appeared. "Is this enough? These are the demon god worshippers I killed."

Stella looked like she was about to faint. "I can’t believe it. The famous Entity and the virgin moon goddess in my academy... Why do I have to see this in my lifeti?"

"You’ll see a lot more," I said and leaned back slightly.

The director put her hand to her chin. "Then the reason Goddess Artemis fell into a coma was that she interfered with fate."

"BINGO," I said and chuckled lightly.

Talking to smart won is easier.

She looked clearly scared as she spoke.

Because even though she’s strong, encountering beings like isn’t easy.

One in a billion.

One in a billion is still too high a probability.

"Do you know what’s important? You know Lucifer’s seal is slowly breaking, right?" I said and tilted my head slightly again.

She nodded. "Yes, all of the empires and powerhouses know this, and deaths across the continent from monster attacks are extrely high."

"Yes, today’s death toll is over 100k. At this rate, 40-60% of the world’s population will be wiped out before Lucifer is stopped," I said.

Stella’s teeth grinding got louder. "Isn’t there a way to kill him? You could do it even without the hero, right?"

"Give 1 million souls, and I’ll make sure Lucifer disappears myself."

No one can give that. It’s too big a sacrifice.

Being killed by monsters is better than being sacrificed to a god.

at least for most people.

"This is madness. Is fate that strong?"

Then Stella saw sothing; her head looked like it had exploded.

Then she was left gasping. "W-what just happened?"

Stella coughed up blood.

"Stella, that was a paradox that would’ve happened if killing you wasn’t in my fate, and it would be as if it never happened. What you just experienced was real and unreal at the sa ti. It was just a possibility." Stella’s cigarette slowly appeared in my hand.

I took a drag.

"This is terrifying..." she said, clearly shaking.

She was completely healthy, just with psychological damage.

The possibility of her head exploding in my hand, and nullifying that possibility without her noticing.

This wasn’t the power of the fate goddesses; it was one of my tarot cards’ powers.

The Fool—the card that represents new beginnings.

It’s hard to say exactly what that card does, but passively, it strengthens and allows a certain degree of fate manipulation.

That’s how I was able to kill Andras.

If I were fully used to this power, I would’ve dropped a nuke on Andras’s head the mont he appeared.

"This is truly terrifying... so our only hope is Lara..." Stella said, bowing her head.

Because she was scared.

Even the power centers of this world couldn’t do much against Lucifer.

"Don’t worry, Director. Lara will defeat Lucifer, and I’ll help."

"That’s reassuring." The director exhaled, as if a weight had been lifted from her chest.

"Director, did you really think I’d take your soul?" I said, my gaze turning to her heart.

We had a deal, but I won’t take her soul; it’s a deal where I help her. I can’t betray that.

The director looked at my face and covered her chest. "Pervert..." she whispered.

"Co on, even if you were my type, I wouldn’t touch you. I have enough won chasing already," I said.

This ti it was my turn to sigh.

"Oh, so while that many won are after you, you’re flirting with ? You’re quite shaless," Stella said.

Now it was her turn to tease .

"Co on, they’re still kids. Who am I supposed to be interested in? A goddess who took a virginity vow? Nah, I pass."

Stella stood up from her chair, walked behind , and placed her hands on my shoulders. "Co on, you could break that vow for her. So what does it matter?"

"I like to take important things slowly. I’m already dealing with a maniac like Seraphine," I said.

That woman really is following .

She probably stole sothing from the empire’s treasury, because even I sotis have trouble finding her.

It must be a divine artifact of so god.

Or sothing left by in the world by the divine thief.

There are places here where cultivation-type shit happens.

After all, beings like Pangu already existed, and the gods in Chinese and Japanese mythology are insanely strong.

That’s why there are 10 tiers; after the 9th tier cos ascension to godhood, but no one has seen that phenonon in a long ti.

It’s kind of like ascending to the immortal realm in cultivation novels, and it’s a shitty realm.

I haven’t gone, and I don’t plan to.

"Alright, go on then, big boy. Rest today. Graduate from the academy quickly and give the reward you promised," she said, straightening up and lightly patting my shoulder.

"Don’t worry, I keep my word."

Then Raul vanished from where he stood.
