The ssages bombarded Yvlena the mont the dark cloud had disappeared from Bloom Haven’s sky. She looked up seeing no trace of the Miasma, she nodded to her summons and dismissed them, allowing them to rest after the battle.

She could feel a wave of exhaustion wash over her as the invisible status made her legs quiver under the weight of how tired she was.

“I need to sit down.” she whispered to herself.

People around her pointed at the sky, murmuring to each other. They ca from the Smithing Quarters, walking and running towards the old warehouse. It was a miracle the structure was still standing, the bricks slanted to the side but stood firm, and to Yvlena, that was basically a success.

She felt bad for the bat but it had morphed into sothing else, it was no longer the warehouse’s lovable pet. It must have been so confusing for the creature to go from sothing small and harmless to a monster.

“It’s gone!” One of the blacksmiths yelled. “The creature plaguing the warehouse is gone!”

Cheers erupted from the crowd, and soon the NPCs surrounding the area were screaming and jumping for joy at the purged warehouse.

“Yvlena!” A feminine voice called from the crowd. The elven girl turned around to find Risel sighing in relief. The blonde elf ran to her, grabbing her shoulders and shaking her.

“Nice to see you again, Risel.” Yvlena laughed.

[Risel is awed by your bravery]

[Affinity with Risel increased 10]

“You got rid of the thing hindering production.” Risel whispered.

“Hindering production?” Yvlena asked if the Miasmic Entity really stalled so much progress.

Risel explained succinctly that without the warehouse, they were unable to store up materials for repairs and surplus goods for trading.

She guessed that would make sense. If they couldn’t store up timber and ore, there would be no way they could trade much with other towns or make repairs to the other districts within the town. Maybe this would even help the Bloom Festival.

“Oh, I get it.” Yvlena said, rubbing her head. “I’m glad I could help, but really I wanted to make my weapon stronger so I could finally fulfill both your quests.”

Risel’s ears twitched, giving away her surprise. Her face grew red at Yvlena’s kind words, and soon she had covered her face with her hands to hide her embarrassnt.

“Oh, Yvlena! You’re so sweet to think I was ever mad at you after helping the town so much.” Risel said.

“And with every Miasmic entity I slay, the weaker the wall in the Verdant Woods becos,” Yvlena said, puffing out her chest in pride. “We’ll be able to get to your brother soon!”

The sounds of cheers had begun quieting, and soon it was only a group of blacksmiths left, discussing how they would repair the warehouse and restore the Smithing Quarters to its original glory

“Yvlena!” She heard Soren call for her. The elven girl waved, leading Soren’s large fra towards her with a smile.

“I got the Rose Ore, but I also wanted to ask you about this,” Yvlena said, handing him the nto.

As soon as Soren’s hands touched the photograph, pictures began filling Yvlena’s mind.

lvin and a young boy stood within the warehouse’s ground floor, talking. lvin, after casting a long look at the warehouse, turned to the young boy and began speaking.

“Soday, Soren, when you’re older, you’ll be in charge of looking after this warehouse just like your old man.” lvin said, jabbing his thumb into his chest and grinning down at the young boy.

A young Soren jumped for joy, running around in a circle from the excitent of his father's announcent. When it was his turn to look after the warehouse, he would make sure it was bigger and better than ever!

They could trade more with Verdant Vale and even ship more ore off to big cities like Rosenheim and never have to worry about the town losing money.

“I can’t wait!” Soren said, grinning widely.

A knock on the side of the door interrupted the father and son pair. The first thing Soren noticed about him was the startling green eyes the man possessed, followed by the antlers protruding from his forehead, adorned with beads that shimred iridescently in the sunlight.

His hair was the color of a fawn pelt, a soft brown speckled with dots of white. He dressed in all green, starting with green robes and an equally green undershirt.

Sohow, Soren knew this person was deeply important.

“I hope I’m not interrupting anything important.” A Serene voice said, striding forward towards lvin with the grace of a deer moving through a forest.

“Not at all, Rael. How can I help? It’s so rare to see you in this part of town! Did your axe break again?” lvin said with boisterous laughter. Rael joined in, laughing just as vibrantly.

The three of them were alerted to a squeaking coming from Rael’s shoulder. The Harvest Guardian lifted the small creature and presented it to lvin.

It was a tiny bat the size of Rael’s fist. The bat unfurled its wings, gazing up at lvin with its ears pulled back and focusing its large amber eyes on them,

Soren’s heart lted at the sight, instantly cooing at the adorable bundle Rael had presented.

“I was wondering if you could help look after my friend here. I found him on my journey to Rosenheim. he was hurt, but I will soon be on my way to the Verdant Vale and as such won’t be able to take care of him.” Rael said.

Soren’s eyes bulged in excitent, and he began looking to his father, pleading for him to consider the request.

“Please, Dad! Please, please, please.” The boy whined, jumping up and down and tugging at the sleeves of his father’s work attire.

lvin scratched his head unsurely, but between the request from the Harvest Guardian and his own son, he had no choice but to acquiesce. He flashed his son a big smile.

“You know, it won’t hurt to have soone keeping an eye on things when we aren’t around,” lvin said, stroking the bat’s chin with his gloved finger.

“What are we going to na him?” Soren asked.

“What about Kazat?” Rael suggested.

“Why that?” lvin asked. The tiny bat was already scurrying up to Soren’s shoulder, causing the boy to giggle. Rael shrugged.

“I think it’s the Gliresean word for...mory.”
