Leaving Calia recovering in their room and Vel doing the best she could to clean up, Jason stepped out of the Chief’s tent.
’As I thought, they’re already here.’
It took less than a minute to find them.
"Chief!" Doro shouted at once, stood up, and bowed.
"What are you doing?" Narjis asked in a whisper.
"I... I don’t know..." He answered, but didn’t stop bowing.
Jason was quite glad to see that.
’Since I killed that one... Ena, the males have started acting differently as well.’ He nodded. ’They’re a bit more scared of , which is good. The females also respect more for killing soone that attacked .’
Thinking about it, Jason really was glad that an attempt on his life had been made in front of everyone.
"Take a seat." He gestured as he stepped towards the roughly made table and chairs at the center of the village.
Jason took the very seat on which he had found Vel earlier, while Doro sat to his left, and Narjis to his right.
"How did things go?" The Chief asked.
"It’s done." Narjis answered. "Everyone is set up in there." She added, turning towards the communal space they had built.
"Good. What about the last remaining hut?"
"We decided to leave it to the gals." Narjis crossed her arms and turned towards Doro.
"Yes," He nodded twice. "We thought it would be better. This way, only guys sleep in there. The girls have to split one hut, but it still seed like a better idea."
"Why is that?" The Chief asked, noticing what could be the birthplace of a coup against him.
