"Let’s go," I said to Mira as I finished my lunch.
She nodded, and we walked out of the inn. I am taking her to market; she wanted to co, and since there is a replacent for her in the inn, I agreed.
"We don’t have to take the carriage, the market isn’t far," she said as I hailed the carriage. "It will be comfortable," I replied, and a few seconds later, we were in the carriage.
If I had been alone, I wouldn’t have done that, but she hadn’t even gone through the awakening.
It would be tiring for her.
I would have given a boost so she would have had more energy than any Primary-I, but I decided against it.
"You could have managed working in the clinic and inn. Why did your mother hire the help?" I asked. Her cheeks reddened, and she looked down.
I didn’t press her for an answer, and ti passed before she looked at . Her cheeks are still red, but her eyes are firm. "I want to be a healer," she replied softly.
"Do you want to teach you?" I asked, and her cheeks reddened further. "Yes," she replied. "Mom, says she would pay for the lessons. Though it won’t be much," she added in a small voice.
I didn’t say anything, other than smiling, before looking out of the window.
It is afternoon, and the city is not as busy as it is during the night, but as we approach the market district, we begin to see more people.
Soon, we reached the market district, and the carriage stopped.
"We do not have many things to shop for, but still, we will have to visit a lot of stores to get the best quality of the things," I said to her, and entered a large store by the standards of this city.
It is a four-story building with large, thick wooden gates.
"Healer Ross, welco back," said the middle-aged human man with a mustache. "Mr. Kade," I replied. He is one of the salespeople who served last ti.
"What do you need, Healer Ross?" he asked. "A new stock arrived yesterday with a lot of good things, like talin’s grass," he inford.
Hearing Grass’s na, Mira’s eyes lit up. It’s a dicine that helps veins mature.
"It is a good dicine, but one shouldn’t push the maturity of veins too hard. Any mistake that will happen here, you will have to bear it with the rest of your life," I cautioned her.
The man opened his mouth, but closed it.
"I will need these things, and give the best quality of them. If you don’t want to repeat what happened the past two tis." I said to the man.
"Our store always provides the best quality, Healer Ross," replied the man, before swiping away the list and giving it to the clerk standing behind.
He said sothing, activating his privacy ring before turning to .
"I hear your clinic is doing well, Healer Ross," said the man. "It’s doing fine," I replied, without showing too much enthusiasm. I am pretty happy with the clinic.
It is not the number of people, but the satisfaction and peace I am getting while healing them.
I had missed it a lot.
"Good, we wish your clinic does well," he said. "So, I could co to your store to buy things," I replied, and the man grinned.
We talked while Mira listened without any words. A few minutes later, the store clerk returned, holding a large tray filled with a lot of things.
Seeing them, Mira’s eyes lit up. The stuff is expensive, and despite not awakened, she could feel the power from them.
"Look at these, all of them are of the best quality," he said. "I will be the judge of that," I replied, before turning to the staff in front of .
At first glance, they all look perfect and of the highest quality, but appearances can be deceiving.
Take this jordas fruit, I took it in my hand. It is brilliant yellow, but if one looks closely, one will see veins under it, and that is not a good thing.
It is still a good quality fruit, but not the quality I need. So, I shook my head.
"It’s a perfect quality fruit," said the man. "Is it?" I asked back, before putting it down and taking another thing, which of the required qualities, and I placed it to my right.
One by one, I checked everything by look, touch, sll, and energy.
He didn’t say anything; he just watched . He is an experienced seller; he knows when to intervene and when to watch silently.
A few minutes later, I finished. "I will take these," I said, looking to my right.
"These resources are of good quality, too," he said, and I smiled. "Don’t worry, I will return to the store. If I didn’t find better quality in other stores," I replied.
"We are the best store in the city, you will not get better quality than us," he said proudly, and once more, I only smiled.
Soon, he presented the bill, and I paid it with so haggling. I do not need to, but there is no fun in shopping without a little bit of haggling.
"I will be waiting for you, Healer Ross," he said, while I just waved at him.
"All of the resources look good; they had marking of the best quality," spoke Mira finally. "The books you have didn’t not tell you everything." I replied.
"Their quality was good, but we need the best to make the best dicine." I added.
She didn’t anything, other than nodded.
Soon, we walked out of the door, when I saw soone familiar. An older half elf and he is looking at and he does not looked pleased.
Well, if I had been in his place, I wouldn’t have looked pleased either. Every week there had been an invitation, but I didn’t attend even single eting.
