Perhaps it was because the boss of nature had finally learned to understand his employees that, up until now, this mont in ti was an important turning point for Logan in this world.
Or perhaps it was because the disaster-plagued Ancient Forest of the New World had already, several tis in a row, been the landing site for Elder Dragons crossing the sea, and the forest’s ecology was no longer suitable, in a short period of ti, for enduring massive impacts.
Therefore, this Kirin rely passed by from the other side and did not choose to hold in the Ancient Forest the welcoming ceremony that an Elder Dragon crossing the sea ought to have upon its arrival.
Even when Logan suddenly dispersed the thunderstorm in the sky, the Kirin that was galloping along the treetops only cast a curious glance toward the direction where Logan was, and then silently galloped toward the deeper parts of the continent.
At the Great Ravine that separated the Coral Highlands and the Ancient Forest, the sleeping Rajang suddenly woke up; it seed to have sensed the presence of its nesis.
In the sky above the Ancient Tree, although Logan was venting that suffocating emotion in his heart in such a way, his attention was also always on the Ancient Tree.
At the very instant when Aki laid the dragon egg, he imdiately sensed a life aura separating from Aki.
Amid excited roars, he dove straight down.
The Grimalkynes and ancient Wyverians guarding the entrance of the nest were so frightened that they hurriedly dodged, but were still knocked to the ground by the gale that Logan brought out.
However, they had no complaints, because upon hearing Logan’s excited dragon roar, they also clearly understood that Lady Aki inside the nest had definitely given birth smoothly.
That is to say, the Ancient Tree would, in the near future, welco one, or even several, little masters!
That is right. In the hearts of the Fire Wyvern Grimalkynes, Logan was incomparably special, and naturally his offspring would be different from the offspring of other Fire Wyverns.
In their view, these would be their, or their descendants’, future little masters, and there was no such thing as letting them go out to fend for themselves once they reached a certain age.
Even if in the future Logan decided to follow the Fire Wyvern’s rearing thods, there would probably still be quite a few young Grimalkynes who chose to leave together with the little masters.
As for whether these “little masters” would be able to lead those Grimalkynes to survive in this cruel New World?
That simply was not a problem at all. The “little masters” who had inherited Logan’s bloodline—how could they possibly be weaklings?
The offspring of a “god” would, at worst, be a demigod.
The mont Logan entered the nest, he imdiately controlled his emotions.
With a flap of both wings he completely cald the air pressure brought by the high-speed dive, then stepped onto the ground and cautiously moved toward the depths of the nest.
When he ca beside the crystal nest, he saw at a glance the incomparably exhausted Aki, who was resting with her eyes closed, and, beside her, the two silver-white dragon eggs that were much larger than ordinary Fire Wyvern eggs.
The strange thing was that, besides being silver, one of them also had ice-blue patterns on it.
The other one, however, was purely silver.
Just as Logan was planning to move a bit closer and carefully examine these two dragon eggs, he suddenly reacted.
In his perception, aside from Aki, only that patterned dragon egg had a life aura, while the other one was completely motionless and was obviously a dead egg.
This made Logan’s slightly opened mouth suddenly freeze. He had always thought that he was special, and Aki had been pregnant for so long and her energy was extrely abundant; even if she gave birth to fewer, there should not have been a situation where there was a dead egg.
Yet he had not expected that such a thing would still happen.
With a soft hum, Aki slowly opened her eyes.
She first looked at Logan warily, then shifted her gaze to the two dragon eggs that she had painstakingly laid.
“Roar...”
Logan let out a low growl; he was hesitating over whether to tell Aki that one of them was a dead egg.
After all, this was a “child” that she had painstakingly carried for many years; before they had even tried to hatch them, he was sentencing one of them to death.
For a mont Logan also did not know why; even though he had already completely rged into the identity of a monster, the education he had received in his previous life and his forr views on life and values all made him feel very uncomfortable at this mont.
“Aki—”
After pondering for quite a while, Logan still planned to tell her truthfully. Although this was his first ti being a father, the behavior of the other Rathians in the group back during the wyvern egg crisis was still vivid in his mind.
Long-term pain was worse than short-term pain; it would be better to let Aki directly give up that unrealistic fantasy.
He had just made up his mind and opened his mouth when he suddenly saw Aki using the clearly larger spines on her lower jaw to poke again and again at that egg without patterns.
Very quickly, accompanied by a cracking sound, the ring of eggshell at the top of that dragon egg was completely knocked open by Aki, and not a single drop of egg fluid spilled out.
In the next second, Aki opened her large mouth, stuck out her tongue, and ate it one mouthful at a ti.
Hearing Logan’s voice, Aki lifted her head, curled her tongue, and slurped all the egg fluid stuck to the spines into her mouth.
With confusion, she tilted her head and looked at Logan, who was frozen in place.
Noticing that Logan’s gaze was fixed on this egg, Aki thought for a mont and responded in a low voice.
“Roar~~” (Stop looking. It is not tasty at all.)
After she finished speaking, she ignored Logan’s conflicted gaze, sped up her swallowing, and in just a few quick bites ate all the egg fluid from that dragon egg clean.
Once she was done, Aki’s previously weakened state visibly improved by a great deal.
When Aki’s gaze fell onto the other dragon egg with patterns, Logan’s heart trembled; he thought that Aki found one insufficient and was planning to eat the other one as well.
Just as he was about to stop her, he saw Aki lovingly pull that dragon egg under her body, and even inside the Fla Sac there was faintly a release of searing flas, raising her own body temperature to keep this dragon egg within a suitable environntal temperature.
Logan’s eyelid twitched. So Aki knew that one was a dead egg, and everything he had just felt was just him putting on a performance for himself?
He had been a dragon performing a one-dragon show over there.
This was a bit embarrassing!
“Roar!!”
At this mont Aki suddenly let out a low roar. Logan, who had co back to his senses, thought that sothing had gone wrong with the egg again.
But under Aki’s slightly annoyed gaze, he then realized and imdiately let out a roar toward the outside of the nest.
Very quickly, the cats who had long since prepared were pushing carts, bringing in cart after cart of carefully handled ingredients and specially made cat food.
Aki protected the dragon egg with one side of her body while swallowing large mouthfuls.
Logan wanted to move over to take a closer look at his future child, but what greeted him was an extrely displeased angry roar from Aki.
Fine then!
Logan compromised and stepped back to the side. A newly delivered Rathian was at the most explosive stage of her temper, and aside from herself, even Logan was not allowed to get too close to the dragon egg.
In that instant Logan felt his position in the family was under severe threat. His originally expectant mood quickly changed, his good mood vanished instantly, and he stared fixedly at that dragon egg, beginning to plan sothing in his heart.
