Before the entrance gate of the Winston Family’s exquisite mansion, a crimson-haired girl stood with determination while staring into the residence where alarms bellowed. The yards and gardens of the expansive villa were desolate, yet she could feel a multitude of people gathering from within.
"Smart... I suppose they had already anticipated the consequences of not accepting Master’s letter. It makes wonder how they could be so confident." Hecate sauntered inside the outer gardens, walking through the walkway leading to the doors of the mansion.
As she entered the residence of the Winston Family, an arching hallway confronted her where dozens of guards directed their laser-pointed rifles towards her. Without any hesitation or delay, they pulled the trigger and fired a rain of bullets at the crimson-haired girl.
Gunfire roared as flashes of light flickered in and out of the stained windows of the exquisite mansion. The guards emptied their magazines into the intruder, but unfortunately for them, it was already too late.
Appearing beside a guard, Hecate smiled at the middle-aged man and punched his head off his body. The headless corpse limped forward, landing on the ground with a thud. Most of the guards were frozen to the core, unable to comprehend what had occurred.
They could rely see the corpse of their colleague lying on the ground amidst a puddle of crimson blood. What followed was a massacre. Screams and cries echoed through the halls of the mansion alongside the endless roar of guns blazing until their barrels beca amber-colored.
Sadly for the guards, Hecate was much faster and stronger than anyone they had t. She was better than a re dhampir, and these lower-ranking vampires alone could mow through platoons of soldiers with ease.
The dozens of guards that had confronted the intruder were annihilated in three minutes after first contact. What was left behind were battered corpses, so missing heads, limbs, and even entire halves of their bodies. It was a horrific sight.
"That took longer than expected," Hecate muttered to herself, her fists and legs stained with crimson blood. The reason it took quite so ti was that the guards withdrew after their numbers were halved by the crimson-haired girl.
They sprinted and hid across several rooms, prompting her to hunt them one by one, which wasted ti. In any case, the infiltration into the residence failed. Their reconnaissance abilities were far stronger than expected.
They weren’t stupid and expected repercussions for defying the seventh Paragon of Block 7. In simpler terms, Hecate’s adversary was ready.
’Winston Family... Your annihilation is inevitable.’ She thought to herself, recalling the mont her Master had saved her from an army of vampires. Those bastards had hunted her across the entirety of Central Arica. In re monts, the source of her anguish was vanquished by her idol.
Even if she couldn’t complete the mission, the criminal syndicate would be eliminated, regardless. It was rely a matter of ti for them. After all, they lost their future the mont they defied the seventh Paragon.
Sowhere in the hallways of the exquisite mansion was a group of rcenaries hired by the Winston Family. Each of them was a capable tahuman, unregistered by the SIGIL and the FNA.
"Sounds like all of the humans died." A cloaked man remarked while staring in the direction of the chaos. Beside him was a bald man who remarked. "To be expected... Against vampires and tahumans, those humans are no different from ants."
"Hey, hey, calm yourselves down. We shouldn’t be so disdainful of the ones different from us." A gentle voice escaped from a young man. Despite his gracious tone, a tinge of arrogance emanated from him.
It felt as though the humans he was talking about were re pets to him. Arrogance was a significant trait of unregistered tahumans. They tended to be people who would bow to the strong and bully the weak.
The reason these tahumans didn’t register themselves with the higher authorities was simple. They feared their only cards getting seen by those who stood at the summit of influence and power.
It was an understandable reason, but the actual reason was probably the fact that these tahumans would be restricted by the SIGIL and FNA. They wouldn’t be able to throw their weight around.
At any rate, the bald man clicked his tongue in annoyance and wanted to finish the job, returning to where he ca from. "How about we handle the intruder instead of conversing like friends? Who knows..."
The edges of his lips curled up into a smirk. "Maybe so of us wouldn’t be able to leave this mansion alive. It makes wonder which of us would stay as a corpse-" His body stiffened as he felt a pale hand impaling his chest.
As blood dripped from the hole in his chest, a soft voice echoed through his muffled ears. "You will be the first one of the many who will fall in this place as lifeless bodies."
Her velvet eyes glead with a cold glint as she gazed upon the rcenaries before her. What she disliked the most was being underestimated. She didn’t care if it was due to ignorance or arrogance. She would make them pay for it.
The bald man collapsed to the floor with a resounding thud, forcing nearby rcenaries to take a step back. Their Brands promptly activated, materializing vines, icycles, and augnted bodies.
"All of you are too weak," Hecate remarked with an indifferent expression, pointing at them with her bloodied fingers and narrowing her gaze. "Far weaker than the Jaegers of SIGIL. Your Brands are underdeveloped."
Without any delay, the crimson-haired girl attacked the rcenaries. Icycles and vines propelled towards her, but she dodged them with ease and threw a roundhouse towards the cloaked man. He barely dodged her bloodied legs with his augnted body as sweat dripped from his forehead.
Despite the bloodied limbs of the intruder, the rcenaries noticed that she wasn’t injured in any way, shape, or form. It ant that those bloodstains across her pale skin belonged to the massacred guards who were the vanguard.
The blond young man conjured an ice wall and pushed it towards the crimson-haired girl. She clenched her fist and punched the wall of ice, causing it to shatter into tiny pieces. Afterward, she charged towards the rcenaries and attacked the vine tahuman.
Throwing a punch, she pulled his face to the ground, breaking apart whatever bones that dared to stand in the way of her fist. The floor fractured as the vine tahuman lost his consciousness, blacking out amidst the battle.
There was no hesitation on her part as she stomped on the head of the man, crushing it into a mush of brain matter. Blood splattered across the floor, compelling the remaining tahumans to back away.
"Where was that confidence of yours? Is this all that is?" She questioned the group of rcenaries who could barely use their abilities. All of the surviving tahumans furrowed their eyebrows, anger seething in their veins.
"Support ." The cloaked man uttered while sprinting towards the crimson-haired girl. The blond man nodded in agreent and conjured several icicles alongside ice chains.
Hecate raised her eyebrows as the cloaked rcenary threw a left hook. She dodged, shifting her posture, and was about to counter. However, an ice chain strapped her standing leg, aiming to disrupt her balance.
She smirked and switched her techniques. Catching one of the piercing icicles, she threw it towards the blond man while also employing a roundhouse to the nearby rcenary fighting her in hand-to-hand combat.
The blond man gritted his teeth and conjured an ice wall to protect himself. The icicle shattered into pieces, making him sigh in relief. But out of nowhere, the crimson-haired girl erged from the wall and struck his stomach with an uppercut.
"W-what!" He couldn’t help but feel dumbfounded as he barely blocked the knuckles of Hecate by utilizing his ice to create a buffer between her and his guts. Otherwise, a hole would have punctured through his body.
He would have died the sa death as that bald man. There was no way he was planning to die in a re dump. A world was waiting for him to enjoy.
"Smart... But this is checkmate." Hecate threw a sidekick, breaking his neck in re monts. The blond man was almost beheaded as bones from his spine protruded from where his neck forrly resided.
A horrendous sight, it was.
Turning her attention towards the cloaked man, the crimson-haired girl tilted her head and questioned. "Are you the infamous rcenary hired by the Winston Family?" Before he could answer, she had already shaken her head.
"Obviously, not. Although your defensive capabilities are amiable, it is far from enough." Hecate vanished from the corpse of the blond man and massacred the remaining rcenaries. Against her, there wasn’t much they could do.
Regardless of their Brands, they were against soone faster and stronger than them. None of them were even given the chance to utilize their Brands. As such, it didn’t take long for the lone cloaked rcenary to be the last survivor.
"How is a vampire working for SIGIL? Don’t tell , the Clan has already infiltrated humanity so deeply." The cloaked man inquired as Hecate appeared beside him and replied. "Such infiltration is near impossible."
"My Master wouldn’t allow it." The crimson-haired girl kicked him through the wall, blasting him into the garden of the mansion. He coughed as he felt the demon-like girl slowly walking towards him. Each of her steps echoed, a countdown for his death.
"Your Master?" He gazed upon the vampire and furrowed his eyebrows. Hecate bolted towards him and punched through his stomach. No matter how much he augnted his body. He didn’t stand a chance against pure strength. Before death could take him, she whispered to his ears.
"The one who ordered the execution of this family. The strongest of humanity, Alastair Glass."
