Chapter 271: 271, Elope (1)_1

“I’m afraid that soone’s joy will be another’s heartbreak.” Han Yue nudged Quan Mingxuan with his elbow, signaling him.

Quan Mingxuan looked up and saw that at so point Chu Yihen and his group had joined them, a smirk playing on his lips.

“Heartbreak is nothing, the worst thing is not giving up.”

“Second brother, what are you two talking about?” Quan Yifei, who was thoroughly enjoying herself, overheard their cryptic exchange and casually asked.

Quan Mingxuan replied, “It’s nothing.”

On stage, Jian Qing gently pushed Quan Jingwu away, rolling her eyes at him, amusent and resignation in her gaze. “Xiaojing, stop fooling around, or I’ll forfeit the ga.”

With so many radar-like eyes on them from the audience below, she didn’t have as thick a skin as he did.

Quan Jingwu chuckled and gave a light nod.

Jian Qing picked up another cookie stick, bit down on it, then, holding onto his sleeves with both hands, moved closer to him.

Quan Jingwu leaned down, took a bite from the other end of the cookie stick, and this ti, he didn’t purposely finish off the cookie. The pair easily outshone the other teams.

“I declare, Group One wins!”

As the judge’s voice fell, this round ended, with the duo of Quan Jingwu effortlessly clinching the championship.

Quan Mingxuan’s eyes narrowed with a plan in mind.

He leaned into Han Yue’s ear to whisper sothing. Whatever he said made Han Yue glance at Quan Jingwu with renewed interest.

After speaking, Quan Mingxuan straightened up and casually glanced in Chu Yihen’s direction.

For those who hadn’t given up, he would lend a helping hand.

Just as the judge was about to pass the cake to Jian Qing, Han Yue agilely hopped onto the stage.

“Wait, I have a suggestion.”

The judge paused mid-step, his box of cake in hand, looking confusedly at Han Yue.

Seeing Han Yue pop up, Jian Qing imdiately had an ominous premonition.

What was he up to now?

Han Yue flashed a cheeky grin, “Since Senior Jingwu’s team has won, shouldn’t there be a kiss to celebrate? Is that right, everyone?”

As if they had coordinated with Han Yue, the audience below erupted with applause and cheers.

“Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!”

Looking satisfied, Han Yue looked at his junior brothers and sisters in the audience and felt gratified.

Good, good, they’re quite perceptive.

He turned to look at Quan Jingwu and Jian Qing. Seeing the dangerously playful smile at the corner of Jian Qing’s lips, he felt a shiver run down his spine.

Gosh, what a terrifying smile!

Averting his gaze, he said with a warm smile, “Listen to the crowd. They’re irresistible. Why don’t you two just go along with them?”

“Han Yue, next ti we et, let’s et at the shooting range.” Jian Qing changed the subject, her words full of hidden anings.

Han Yue felt a chill run down his spine. The shooting range?

Did she an to use him for target practice?

He quickly glanced at Quan Jingwu. Dude, he was trying to get benefits for him and deal with a romantic rival. He should not be so unkind to him.

Quan Jingwu, in a rare show of brotherly love, pulled Jian Qing into his arms, his voice compelling as it echoed.

“Sweetheart, Ayue makes sense. Why don’t we respond to the public sentint.”

Hearing this, Han Yue almost shed tears of joy.

Finally, his bro had said sothing that made sense.

“Then you respond by yourself.” Jian Qing flashed a teasing glance at him, as if she wanted to push him away.

Anticipating her move, he was faster; one arm circling her waist, his other hand cupped her chin, as he descended to capture her lips with his.

The sudden scene ignited the electrifying atmosphere as pink confetti filled the sky. This school carnival was all set to be unforgettable.

“Wow──”

Cheers and catcalls erupted from the crowd.

There are the glad and the grieved. Chu Yihen’s clenched fists turned white, rage brewing in his eyes as he watched the two on stage.

Song Xirou was not the only one feeling heartbroken, she averted her gaze, refusing to look at the two on stage. Biting her lip and lowering her head, her eyes reddened but she held back her tears.

She couldn’t cry, she absolutely would not allow herself to cry.

The situation was not yet set in stone. She couldn’t give up so easily.

On stage, Quan Jingwu was not one to put on a show for long. The fleeting kiss lasted only a few seconds before he led Jian Qing off the stage, leaving even the prize behind.

Jian Qing decided to leave quickly before Han Yue and his gang could upend things again. She even tossed the winning cake aside. Ultimately, the cake ended up in Quan Yifei’s stomach.

After the duo left, the Empire Academy’s carnival went on, but everyone now yearned for love. How could they make it happen, they wondered?

In the car, the whole situation felt amusing to Jian Qing.

She originally intended to just visit his campus, but both the process and the outco were beyond her expectations.

Was this more of a surprise or a shock?

“Xiaojing, where are we going?” she asked, looking around at the unfamiliar roads.

This was neither the way to his company nor to Shijin Haoting.

Quan Jingwu smirked, “You’ll see.”

So mysterious?

A glimr of curiosity passed across her delicate face. Had he planned sothing behind her back?

After so hours in the car, Jian Qing was about to doze off.

Just as she was on the verge of falling asleep, the car stopped.

“Sweetheart, we’re here.”

The man’s deep voice stirred her awake.

Looking up, her eyes filled with astonishnt.

The vast blue sea stretched endlessly before them.

While she was still dazed, Quan Jingwu had already gotten out of the car and co around to open her door.

“Sweetheart, planning to keep enjoying the sea breeze in here?” he joked with a hint of a smile at the corner of his mouth.

Jian Qing quickly returned to her senses, pouting a little as she grabbed his hand to get out of the car.

“What made you bring

to the beach?”

The sea breeze carried the light saltiness of the sea. As it brushed her face, she squinted at the vast ocean, her mood relaxing.

Quan Jingwu’s lips parted slightly, half-seriously, half-jokingly, and uttered two words, “Elopent!”

At his words, Jian Qing chuckled, “Isn’t elopent better done at night?”

From what she rembered, that’s how TV series usually portrayed it.

“We can consider that for next ti,” he said.

Jian Qing didn’t press him further on where they were going and lazily moved forward.

About ten feet away, a familiar figure caught her eye.

It was Shen Hao!
