''Is this the 'pseudo-Dao Emperor' realm?'' Shun Long couldn't help but mumble curiously as he felt the power surging in his body every ti he clenched his fists. However, even this idea only lasted for the briefest of monts before he discarded it as soon as it took form.
The so-called pseudo-Dao Emperor realm referred to those Dao Kings who had already reached the peak of rank 9 and had fully solidified their cultivation, before preparing to beco Dao Emperors. Liu i, Xingyi, Jiang Chen, and Bai Longtian, could all be considered pseudo-Dao Emperors, for example. But Shun Long's situation was different.
Putting aside how he still had room to improve within the Dao King realm, Shun Long could tell that, right now, his body had undergone so kind of tamorphosis that was completely different from the norm.
Although his 'Monarch's Eternal body' hadn't reached the early seventh stage just yet, it was definitely on the cusp of it. In fact, he felt like his body had already crossed that threshold!
''This... doesn't make sense.'' Shun Long knew how absurd the thought of it truly was. It was a downright ludicrous idea, but the more he thought about it, the more he realized how plausible it may actually be.
His body had sohow reached the threshold to breakthrough to the Dao Emperor realm, but it was actually his comprehension of his 'Dao of Space' that was preventing him from advancing any further.
If that was true, though, it ant that the mont his comprehension of the Dao of Space caught up to his 'Monarch's Eternal body', Shun Long would undergo his tribulation to beco a Dao Emperor on the spot.
''Little Black, what do you think about this?'' After a few monts of pondering, Shun Long cast his gaze towards the enormous black dragon whose azure eyes were still fixated on the ancient stele. He could tell that Little Black's emotions were no longer as tumultuous as before, but the black dragon clearly wasn't fond of the mysterious stele and its unpredictability.
Of course, Shun Long understood this, as well.
This was the third ti he'd been transported to a mysterious place out of nowhere, and it was a place neither he nor Little Black had much information about, to begin with. The only consolation was that the golden staircase and the enigmatic white palace didn't seem to pose any direct danger to his life, but even that wasn't truly certain.
After a few monts of silence, Little Black's voice finally rang out, echoing solemnly throughout the foggy space
''According to what master said earlier, that golden staircase sounds like an opportunity to increase one's body refinent cultivation. Still, we don't know what other dangers that place holds other than that pressure master faced, nor do we know anything about that white palace, so master should still be careful.'' Little Black's blue eyes flickered back to the golden stele for a second before he continued, this ti his voice clearly more hesitant and uncertain
''I also thought about this while master was unconscious, and the statues on that stone do resemble the 'Immortal Dinsion's' Heavenforged Knights... ever-so-slightly.''
''The Heavenforged Knights??'' Shun Long repeated in obvious surprise, his golden eyes dilating slightly.
According to the information he had in his mories, the Heavenforged Knights were one of the 'Immortal Dinsion's' oldest races, and one of the most terrifying ones, too. Their bloodline wasn't as strong as that of pureblood dragons, phoenixes, or other legendary beasts, but rumor had it that they were lineal descendant of the gods. Although they were rumored to be on the lesser branch of the Celestial Line, and just like the gods, the Heavenforged Knights only existed in rumors, Shun Long had read enough about these ancient beings to know to be wary of their existence.
Supposedly, even the weakest of adult Heavenforged Knights were strong enough to rule one of the minor worlds in the 'Immortal Dinsion', and even contend for so of the middle worlds.
''Still, the Heavenforged Knights are born with 6 wings, not 2, and they've never wielded weapons. They always boasted about the power of their physical bodies being unmatched, so they would never lower themselves to use sothing like a sword or a spear.''
Little Black nodded in agreent and didn't say anything else. This was just the black dragon's assumption, after all. Still, for so reason, Shun Long didn't rule out the possibility.
After throwing one last look at the golden stele, though, he eventually shook his head and put this matter in the back of his mind before he shifted his gaze towards one of the corners of the foggy space where dozens of alchemy bottles were neatly stacked on top of each other.
He had co to the Scaled Mountains to break through and reach the peak of the Dao King realm, and the bottles of Immortal Water he had obtained from Mao Huang's and Guo Chen's generous donations were precisely what he was planning to use to do that.
With a casual wave of his hand, Shun Long summoned all the alchemy bottles into the air. They floated in front of him in a tight formation, forming several neat rows, while his eyes calmly swept over them, silently estimating their number.
''Roughly thirty thousand drops, huh?'' Shun Long muttered to himself as his lips slowly curved into a satisfied smile. Regardless of how greedy his last 9 golden qi balls were going to be, this was going to be more than enough to solidify his foundation and breakthrough to the peak of the Dao King realm in one go!
Without any hesitation, Shun Long pulled open the first bottle and... swallowed a dozen drops of Immortal Water in one breath!
There was still a month left before he had to return to Amber Dawn and et with Liu i and the others, but right now, Shun Long wasn't thinking about any of that. As the drops of Immortal Water entered his body — seeping through his blood, bones, and ridians before eventually finding their way to his dantian — he did his best to control their surging power as he began to form his 73rd golden ball of qi.
