The city gates of the 'Northern Sovereign's city' were just as crowded as they had been the last ti Shun Long and the others were here.

Thousands of carriages could be seen coming and going, pulled by nurous magic beasts, while more than a hundred thousand cultivators were lined up in front of each gate as they waited for permission to enter inside.

As for the city guards, they were inspecting each and every person's identity while collecting a fee of middle-grade spirit stones before they let anyone enter the city. Even peak-stage Dao Emperors weren't exempt from this rule as they obediently lined up in front of the gates and waited for their turn to enter.

A few monts later, the hideous figure of the Death Eater vanished into thin air, as the seven figures sitting on its back joined the endlessly long line leading up to the city's entrance.

However, none of those figures resembled Shun Long and the rest anymore. Instead... the figure at the forefront belonged to an old man with long white hair and a clean-shaven face, while the people behind him were all middle-aged n and won.

Other than his striking golden eyes the old man didn't seem to possess any particularly extraordinary qualities either, while the middle-aged n and won following him appeared just as plain and unassuming. Even the surrounding cultivators lining up in front of them didn't throw the group a second glance, their gazes rely lingering on the old man at the front a few seconds longer before they ignored him as well.

The fact that the old man didn't exude any qi was sowhat surprising, but even that wasn't enough to attract the nearby cultivators' attention for more than a second... especially not with the modest group of Dao Kings behind him.

Such a lineup may have attracted so attention in any other city in the northern region, but in the Northern Sovereign's city, even Dao Emperors and Sovereign realm experts weren't uncommon let alone a small group of peak-stage Dao Kings.

Shaking their heads, the group of 3 n in front of them glanced at the distant city gates, realizing that the line would take a while before it was their turn to enter the city.

Then, the weakest among them, a tall middle-aged man at the peak of the Dao King realm took a deep breath and said worriedly

''Senior brother, do you think the northern region will be affected as well? It's only been half a year but even the Northern Sovereign seems to be recruiting more soldiers... almost as if she's preparing for war.''

Shun Long's eyes narrowed slightly when he heard the conversation of the n in front of him, his gaze gradually nestling on the man who had spoken just now.

The Northern Sovereign was recruiting more soldiers? Unless sothing big happened during this past half a year, he knew that it was very unlikely for that woman to make such a decision.

However, Shun Long didn't have to wait long to find out more about this matter, as the short middle-aged man at the front of the group shook his head and said seriously

''I don't know. No one can predict the future right now. The central continent is bound to fall into turmoil after the 'City of Immortals', and the arrival of those people will only make things more complicated. If the Northern Sovereign is recruiting for more soldiers, I can only assu that the Tianxuan dynasty behind her feels threatened as well.''

The man who had just spoken was an early-stage Dao Emperor, soone who would be a renowned figure in any first-rate power of the northern region. And yet, even his voice was filled with trepidation as he said that last sentence, clearly uncertain of what was going to take place from now on.

However, the tall man by his side didn't seem convinced as he asked skeptically

''Senior brother, how can that be? Aren't those people just peak-stage Sovereigns? It's one thing for the Northern Sovereign to be worried about them, but the Tianxuan dynasty even has Earth Immortals! How can they be afraid of a few Sovereign realm experts?''

The short man hurriedly raised his hand and slapped his junior brother on the back of the head when he heard that before he said

''You fool, lower your voice! Do you have a death wish? Are you qualified to discuss the matters of the Tianxuan dynasty this loudly?'' The middle-aged man then took a deep breath and looked around him warily before he continued, his voice clearly more subdued this ti, as if he didn't want too many people to hear what he was going to say next

''You are right, those people are only Sovereign realm experts as far as we know, but are they just any average Sovereigns? Putting aside how difficult it is for soone to reach the peak of the Sovereign realm, do you think that Sovereigns from the 'Immortal Dinsion' are on the sa level as those from our central continent?''

When he heard the last sentence, Shun Long could no longer suppress his shock as he looked at the back of the short, middle-aged Dao Emperor in front of him. Although the man had said everything in a suppressed voice, it was clear that the surrounding groups of cultivators had also heard him, as they all turned their eyes on him.

Although so people looked surprised, most of them seed to have placid looks on their faces, as if they already knew about the topic the middle-aged man was discussing.

Judging from their reactions, Shun Long could tell that this matter wasn't a secret either and was most likely widespread throughout the 'Northern Sovereign's city' already.

In the next mont, under Jiang Chen's and the others' surprised gazes, Shun Long took a few steps forward and approached the middle-aged man, before he cupped his hands and said seriously

''Greetings, fellow Daoist. I'm a bit interested in the matter you were discussing. Do you mind sharing so of your info with ?''
