As the maid walked to the pavilion while holding a tray full of food, the faeries witnessed sothing incredible:
They saw a beautiful woman standing in front of a tree, using her power to control plants to make a swing for a toddler with strange golden eyes.
The boy giggled each ti the swing went up and crowed, "Higher! Sisi, this is so fun!"
Sisi listened to the request and made the tree swing higher, but she also didn’t forget to watch over him, just to make sure that Jojo wouldn’t accidentally slip and fall.
The faeries watched this from afar, and as the maid drew near, they were caught off guard by how gorgeous their darling was up close.
Mistress Sisi had an air of a magnanimous ruler, but the most important trait was the strong sense of motherhood that she showed toward this little wolf boy.
Having a strong sense of motherhood was one of the key traits to identify the Darling of the Earth, because it was within their instinct to take care of others, just like mother nature.
After all, the darling would be expected to take care of the faeries as if they were all her children, and by simply looking at her and this wolf boy, it was more than obvious that Mistress Sisi was truly their darling.
On top of that, her amazing control over plants was also another sign of her identity.
The faeries stayed silent as they kept staring at Sisi for a while.
"Mistress, I’m here with so snacks and drinks for you and the Crown Prince," the maid said. "Should I bring this to the pavilion?"
"No, just put it there," Sisi pointed to a tree stump with a flat surface. "Thank you."
"Y-you’re welco, Mistress."
The faeries hopped off the maid’s head and flew around their darling, hoping that she would notice them.
"Darling! Look at us!"
"My darling, we are here! It’s been a long journey!"
"Darling! Darling! See us! We’re here!"
But Sisi kept playing with Jojo with the makeshift swing made out of tree vines, ignoring them completely as if she couldn’t see them at all.
The trio of faeries looked at each other in confusion. Based on all the hints they got, this woman must be their darling!
So how co she couldn’t see them at all?
"Alright, that’s enough, Jojo. You should eat the fruits prepared by the maids," Sisi stopped the swing and handed the boy a bunch of grapes for him to nibble on.
Jojo happily ate the grapes while pushing the swing lightly with his foot.
"I’ll go to the bathroom first. Just wait here, alright?"
"Don’t take too long, Sisi. I’m scared..."
"This won’t take long," Sisi said as she walked away from Jojo, but she wasn’t actually going to the bathroom. She was simply distancing herself from Jojo so he couldn’t hear the conversation she was about to have.
The faeries continued following their darling, thinking that she couldn’t see them at all. But once they were a bit far from the boy, Sisi suddenly turned her head to stare at them and smiled thinly. "It is not proper to scream in front of without introducing yourselves first, you know?"
"Oh!"
"Wha!"
"Aaahh!"
The trio of faeries were shocked that their darling could actually see and talk to them.
Sisi sighed at the sight of these faeries. Of course, she wasn’t all that surprised about them, because Grandma Tree had shown her what a faerie looked like in her dream.
She didn’t know how these faeries found her, but they seed to be the younger ones, because they got too excited after finding her.
"D-darling, can you see us?" Crush Tutu asked.
Sisi rembered how Grandma Tree called her ’darling.’ Maybe it was her title among the faeries.
Sisi nodded. "I can see three energetic and cute faeries in front of . Though, they need to introduce themselves first before talking to ."
"Oh! M-my na is Crush Tutu! You can call Tutu!"
"I am Jan Keke!"
"Uhh... I am Bold Dodo!"
Sisi almost laughed hearing their nas, because they reminded her of her own na.
Their nas were so simple, but also easy to rember.
"And I am Sisi. Just Sisi."
"Oh! I’m so happy to know our darling’s na!" Jan Keke said euphorically. She twirled in the air with her dragonfly wings, which made Sisi curl her lips in amusent.
"Just Sisi! Got it!" Crush Tutu said. "Just Sisi, you are our darling!"
"Just Sisi, Darling!"
"No, not Just Sisi. Sisi. You can call Sisi."
"Ohh..." the trio of faeries chorused. "Then we will call you Darling Sisi!"
"We’ve found Darling Sisi! We can go back now!"
"Oh, I can’t wait to tell Grandpa about this. He must be happy!"
Sisi sighed at these childlike faeries. No wonder they were only visible to toddlers, because they also acted like one.
But they were ant to be creatures that were pure of worldly desires. So innocence was one of their traits.
But what about her though? Sisi didn’t think she was free of worldly desires, especially when it ca to Kael.
"Let’s go ho, to the faerie land, Darling Sisi!" Crush Tutu said.
"Wait, you guys keep talking without asking first," Sisi sighed. "Grandma Tree told in my dream that I am its granddaughter. Is that true? Does Grandma Tree really exist?"
"Of course! Everyone in faerie land is searching for you because Grandma Tree told us that it misses you very, very much!" Bold Dodo said. "But everyone is going south and east, not north. We are the only ones who went north because Tutu said that she can sense your, uhm... plant control in the north."
"But what are you doing here, Darling?" Crush Tutu asked. "Everyone in faerie land thought you were in the human kingdom, because you are half human!"
"It’s, uh... it’s a long story, but..." Sisi turned toward Jojo, who was busy nibbling on grapes, and said, "His na is Jojo, and he’s the reason for my awakening. Without him, I would’ve died in the human world, and he’s also the reason why I’m here now."
