"By the way, Boss, have you seen the little prince’s golden eyes? They look too scary for . His eyes are even scarier than the King’s crimson eyes," Leah comnted. "It’s so unfair that they are blessed by the Goddess while I am nothing but a regular beastman who was born into a lowly family."

"Blessed by the Goddess? Heh..." Marik sneered at that statent.

Far from blessed, both Kael and Jojo were cursed by the most heinous curse to ever exist in this world, because Roc Forest naturally gathered all the dark and vengeful energy in its soil and put it inside two vessels: the Dusk and Dawn Star of each era, to make sure that the soil maintained its clarity.

It was the law of nature in Roc Forest, because this ancient forest was the ho of faeries, and those fragile creatures would die imdiately if the dark energy in the soil didn’t get cleansed regularly.

And if those faeries died... well, then the entire Roc Forest and its surroundings—which was basically the whole continent—would wilt.

No trees would grow, no insects would germinate the soil and fertilize the plants, no signs of changing seasons, and many more.

Basically, if those faeries died, then everyone on this continent would die as well.

With a responsibility that enormous, it also made sense for the Dusk and Dawn Star to be powerful, since they were nothing but balls of negative emotion.

Marik spent his youth obsessively studying the curse of Dusk and Dawn Star, and knew damn well that Jojo shouldn’t have those golden eyes.

Because that was the first sign of him awakening the terrifying Dawn Star power.

Unfortunately, Marik didn’t know much about what kind of power Jojo would have, because based on ancient texts, each era would only end after the Dawn Star of that era died.

Unlike his father, the Dawn Star’s powers were never written in any ancient texts except that he could destroy everything if he wanted it, which made Marik wonder if Jojo would eventually erase any trace of written docunts about his power as well.

’My precious boy...’ Marik couldn’t help but lant over the fact that Jojo was no longer the sa after they got separated.

When there were only the three of them in Roc Forest, all Jojo did was learn how to hunt and skin his prey. He was as carefree as a beastman could be, and Marik preferred it that way.

Jojo was very innocent and sweet. He never asked for much, and his sole goal every day was to eat a lot with Sisi and to grow up fast so he could protect her.

’And now, his cursed father has ruined his innocence by making him the crown prince of a kingdom,’ Marik thought. ’He doesn’t need all this wealth and glory. All he needs is freedom and to never know anything about his curse.’

Seeing Jojo’s golden eyes only made his determination stronger than before. He wanted to take Sisi and Jojo out of this kingdom as soon as possible, so they wouldn’t be corrupted by Kael’s darkness.

After taking his ti staring at that empty platform, Marik finally turned around and said, "Let’s go. We can’t spend too much ti here."

"That’s what I’ve been saying," Leah rolled her eyes as she wrapped her arm around his neck, and they disappeared through the crowd and left the Beast Kingdom with ease.

She truly had no idea what this man was thinking about or why he wanted to destroy the Beast Kingdom.

But that wasn’t important. As long as she got to be the queen of whichever man was the strongest, then she was more than happy to aid him!

Though, as they walked through the forest, she couldn’t help but ask, "So, what’s your relationship with Sisi? Do you hate her just like I do?"

’Hate her? I love her more than my life,’ Marik replied in his heart.

But he didn’t want to show any sign of weakness in front of this cunning bitch, so he simply replied:

"She has sothing that I need."

"Oh? What is that?" Leah continued asking. "I doubt it’s her body. She’s so ugly. She must’ve used her witchcraft to charm Kael, and possibly used so kind of witchcraft on Jojo as well, so that boy beca absolutely obedient to her. Ugh, thinking about it makes gag a little."

Marik clenched his fists even tighter than before. This woman had no idea how great a sacrifice Sisi made to take care of Jojo, and how much she loved him.

It was only natural for Jojo to love her back tenfold, because he probably had never felt that kind of motherly love in his life before.

As for Kael...

He was probably enamored by Sisi’s face, since she was indeed dangerously gorgeous. She had the kind of beauty that could destroy a nation. Had she been born a noblewoman, she’d be a human queen by now.

On top of that, Sisi had this strange air around her. She had a commanding aura, akin to a mother. She was warm, wise, and loving. She was the exact type of woman that n wanted... and Marik had to admit that he wasn’t immune to it either.

He was attracted by both her beauty and kindness, to the point that his dreams were now filled with Sisi’s image.

It was a lovely torture, because in those dreams, he would always live in Jing Forest with Jojo and Sisi, alongside two more tiger beast cubs as the fruits of their love.

Unfortunately, he had to wake up every morning, which infuriated him even more.

"So, where are we going again?" Leah asked.

Marik cald down, as he didn’t want to alert this crazy woman, and replied, "The human kingdom outside of Roc Forest."

Leah was surprised. "The human kingdom? But I heard they don’t like beastn."

"They don’t. But I have a way to disguise your animal features, so you’d look like a traveling human instead," Marik replied. "Then we will infiltrate that kingdom."
