Sisi stared at the boy she had raised with care for half a year. It was rare for Jojo to show such desperation. She had only seen it a few tis—when he wanted to attack Mr. Piker for the first ti, when Kael caught up to them during that blizzard chase, and now.

In all of those monts, Jojo’s desperation showed just how much he wanted to protect his loved one, even with his short limbs and small body.

So Sisi finally realized that this wasn’t just about Kael having a nightmare. Jojo was convinced that Kael would never wake up from it.

Sisi didn’t know what kind of "not waking up" Jojo ant. So she had to go up there and see Kael’s condition for herself before concocting any herbal dicine.

They ran into Diane just as they were about to leave the room. Sisi took all the ingredients she had requested and asked, "Is there anyone other than the Beast King who can go up and down the summit?"

Diane thought for a mont before replying, "So flying beastn can reach that height, like the eagles, or even Vestor. But they wouldn’t dare unless it was urgent, Mistress."

Sisi was about to ask Grishaw to carry them up. But then she rembered that Kael must be in a pitiful state right now, and he probably wouldn’t want any of his subjects to see him like that.

Sisi wanted to say she didn’t care if Kael looked pathetic in front of Grishaw. But sowhere in the depths of her heart felt a shred of pity for him.

Yes, their relationship wasn’t exactly good, as it was built on distrust. But Kael had been kind enough to give her the Queen’s Courtyard to preserve her dignity. She felt it was only fair to preserve his dignity as a king in return.

"Then find Vestor," Sisi said firmly, "and tell him not to let anyone—not even himself—co up to the summit. Understood?"

Diane held her breath, sensing that sothing had happened to their king. "Mistress, if sothing has happened to His Majesty, shouldn’t we summon the palace doctor? We have a crane physician—"

"No," Sisi refused imdiately. "I repeat, nobody is allowed to co up. I don’t have much ti. Now go and tell Vestor."

"Y-yes, Mistress!"

With that, Sisi picked up Jojo and hurried toward the summit entrance.

There were no guards nearby. They were busy patrolling the palace, and in truth, the summit itself was intimidating enough to deter any intruder.

However, she spotted Grishaw and Vestor standing near the entrance. Judging by their confused expressions, they must have arrived just now; otherwise, they would have already known about Jojo descending the summit alone.

They hurried toward her.

"Goodness, My Prince!" Vestor exclaid. "What happened to you? Why are you here? W-where is the King?!"

"Why are you two here?" Sisi asked calmly.

"We always wait here before the morning court," Grishaw replied. "His Majesty usually cos down within the hour."

"But since the Prince is here, I assu our King is in your courtyard, Mistress?" Vestor asked.

"D-Daddy is—" Jojo was about to say that his father was having a nightmare.

"Kael wants to go up first," Sisi interrupted Jojo before he blurted his father’s condition. "You two will stay here and make sure no one cos up. Understood?"

"Did sothing happen, Mistress?" Vestor asked carefully.

"No. But the King specifically wants to go up, personally."

"Then let carry you, Mistress," Grishaw said. "It’s dangerous—"

"No." Sisi cut him off. She knew that if either of them went up, they would discover Kael’s condition.

"Stay here. The King ordered to go up alone. Unless you want to lose your heads, do not follow."

Both Grishaw and Vestor gulped. That wasn’t an empty threat, as the angered Beast King could actually kill them.

They stepped back, though Grishaw still hesitated. "Then how will you get up there, Mistress? It’s far too dangerous."

Sisi had already thought about this.

Kael had warned her not to reveal her power in front of anyone in the kingdom. Beastn had a natural aversion to witches, perhaps even more than to humans.

Witches were considered the second most evil beings in Roc Forest, surpassed only by demons. They often kidnapped beastman cubs for their dark rituals, just as they did with human children.

But climbing the summit manually while carrying Jojo was too risky.

The choices were simple: Let Kael’s subordinates see him at his weakest...Or reveal her power.

Logically, the first option made more sense, and she also knew that Kael preferred to be seen as pathetic by one subordinate than Sisi having an infamous reputation in his kingdom.

But Sisi still hesitated.

Sohow, she wanted only herself and Jojo to witness Kael at his lowest.

Thus, for the first ti, Sisi decided to do sothing illogical. She said, "I know what I’m doing. Step aside."

Vestor and Grishaw exchanged a glance. They knew sothing was wrong, but Sisi was their Mistress. They had no choice and moved aside.

Sisi walked toward the summit entrance under their watchful eyes.

The ascent was nacing, but not barren. Trees jutted out along the cliffside, so slanted upward, others growing stubbornly from stone. Bushes dotted the path, though they looked too fragile to rely on.

After surveying the terrain, Sisi said softly,"Jojo, turn into your wolf form. It’ll be easier to carry you."

"Mm!"Jojo shifted and curled into her arms.

Sisi held him tightly with one arm and whispered, "No matter what happens, don’t struggle. I don’t want you to fall while we’re moving from one tree to another."

Jojo didn’t know what Sisi planned to do. But he was sure that she wasn’t strong enough to climb this summit with her strength alone.

But Sisi had a plan.

She placed her palm against the earth and closed her eyes, reaching out, sensing every tree rooted into the mountainside until she could make a map inside her mind.
