After Wolfram had finished with her presentation, the mafia families still discussed their other findings, with Ira explaining how they used the conversion stone to save so of the death knights and undead.

For a mont, the mbers of the mafia believed they had found a way to gain immortality, as soone could use the conversion stone to transfer their soul into the body of a healthy android, which would never age or fall ill.

However, their dreams were shattered when Ira revealed that the conversion only worked with the energy that was present, aning that they would still need a necromancer if they wanted to transfer soone's soul.

As they kept talking, Wolfram slowly made her way to Dante's seat in the back of the room, where the warlock sat down with a slightly bored posture.

Paige, the scientist, followed Wolfram closely as she had many questions about the technology that used magic, and since Wolfram wanted to discuss it with Dante, she took Paige along.

"Can I have a few minutes?" Wolfram politely asked Dante.

"Sure…" He replied, a bit confused since they didn't know each other, but knowing that Wolfram wanted to talk about sothing serious.

While the other mafia mbers kept discussing about the conversion stone, the trio left the room for a mont, and Wolfram went straight to the point.

"You are Xander's disciple, yes?" Wolfram asked, leaving Dante in silence for a few seconds.

"You know my teacher?" He asked in response.

"Sothing like that. We were not friends, but we also weren't enemies…" Wolfram replied.

An awkward silence hung in the air between them, as Dante didn't know what to do with that information.

"When was the last ti you saw him?" The wizard cyborg continued asking.

*Pffft* Dante scoffed. "A little over two hundred years ago, I guess…" He replied, chuckling at the absurdity of his words.

The warlock proceeded to tell Wolfram about the last ti he rembered seeing his teacher, when he expected the man to return to their ho a month later, only for him to disappear. Two years later, Dante stopped waiting for him and left his ho.

"Dante… Xander ca here," Wolfram stated, hesitantly interrupting Dante's story.

The warlock couldn't deny being a little shocked, although he had already suspected sothing similar.

Back in the world of Terra, he tried asking nurous people across the world to see if he could find any traces of Xander, and only after spending a few months on Earth, Dante began to think that maybe his teacher had also traveled there sohow.

In a way, he was glad to know the fate of his teacher, but he wondered if there was sothing he was ant to do with that information.

Wolfram revealed that she had seen Xander for the last ti on the day she died in Terra.

After a group of mages opened the convergence portal, the group was surrounded by a large number of angels and holy knights. However, Xander went through the portal before they could touch him. Wolfram, on the other hand, wasn't as lucky.

"Didn't you murder a Sacred Beast for immortality?" Dante asked with a nonchalant tone that didn't match the weight of his question.

The whole reason why Ira wanted to hunt down Wolfram was for revenge against her kind.

Wolfram had supposedly killed the Sacred Beast known as the Ruby Lion and had eaten his heart to extend her lifespan for thousands of years.

"If you ask , you kinda got what you deserved…" Dante continued.

Wolfram didn't deny his words and looked down with apprehension, and while she confird that she had truly killed the Ruby Lion, she refuted the immortality statent.

"I didn't do it for immortality. I was already able to make my body younger with magic…" Wolfram clarified.

Only by eating the heart of a Sacred Beast, Wolfram was able to 'see' the lines of the convergence, allowing her to predict where the next natural portal would appear.

Even knowing that there was more to Wolfram's ambitions, Dante couldn't understand why she was so keen on traveling to another world, to the point of making herself an enemy of half of Terra and spending hundreds of years researching the sa phenonon.

"It's because of freedom, Dante. This world is untouched by gods… Do you know what that ans?" Wolfram asked.

"No angels, no holy knights, no combat priests…" Dante replied.

"That's not all… How do you think the gods of our world ca to be?" Wolfram continued her questioning, prompting Dante to shrug in ignorance.

"When there are no gods, the strongest of beings take their place…" The wizard said in a low tone.

Dante widened his eyes slightly in shock. Wolfram alluded to the fact that the gods of Terra's pantheon were common mages at one point, and they ascended as gods after conquering the world with their indomitable power.

A world such as Earth, where there were no physical gods, was the perfect target for mages who wanted to attain godhood without having to deal with the current gods of Terra.

Wolfram revealed that she was attracted to the idea of becoming a god at first, which is what made her start her research.

Xander wasn't interested in godhood, but he was curious enough about the convergence to involve himself in the studies.

"Why are you telling this now? Did you change your mind?" Dante asked.

"I did…" The wizard replied without stuttering.

When Wolfram was resurrected in the body of Ruben, one of the Onyx Cartel's leaders, she ca to the realization that leaving the world without physical gods was a better outco than becoming one.

"This world is much more advanced than Terra. Of course, there is still evil everywhere, but seeing what people can do without the influence of higher beings convinced that gods are not needed…" Wolfram confidently said.

Netherius' plan was much more than conquering Novaria. He was aiming to beco Earth's God of Death, which is why Wolfram had to wait for the perfect mont to betray him.
