When Saris woke up and inspected her surroundings, the banshee had a rough idea of the situation. However, she was curious about their motives.

Camille had ntioned that the NSS was allied with the Jade Dragons, so she calmly asked them to explain their objective, threatening everyone in the room with a sharp gaze.

With his back cornered, Ronald decided to tell her the truth, explaining that Netherius had commanded them to hand over Camille in exchange for the safety of the NSS agents.

Not only were the agents present at the checkpoint in danger, but Netherius had also apparently captured another group that he was keeping hostage.

For Ronald, exchanging one life for several others was the lesser of two evils. It was the most logical choice for a man in his position, even if he had friendly relations with Camille.

However, a banshee such as Saris thought differently. A demon didn't care if dozens or hundreds of people died—they only cared about their own allies.

Even if Netherius had said he would destroy the entire country, Saris would still choose to save Camille.

After the banshee heard the agents' concerns, she instantly declined, saying that she couldn't let them take her away, afraid that Dante would get angry with her.

Gritting his teeth with frustration, Ronald looked at the clock and realized that the ti for them to et with Netherius was approaching.

'If I could just divert her attention for a few more minutes…' Ronald thought.

Nevertheless, the agents were getting more afraid and impatient as the ti drew closer, prompting a few of them to aim their weapons at Saris, asking the banshee not to move.

"Ohh, Saris is playing now!" Asher comnted with enthusiasm.

"I guess so… Then, I better win," Saris replied, her eyes still looking a bit droopy from her nap.

The mont that several sleeping bullets flew towards her, Saris waved her hand and crouched to avoid getting shot, saying that she hated feeling pain.

Suddenly, her pupils dilated as a luminous ring appeared on them—and in the blink of an eye, Saris scread and produced a powerful wave of sound that shattered the windows and blasted the agents through the walls of the room.

Ronald and his subordinates were alive after the attack, but their hearing was interrupted by a loud ringing in their ears that made them bleed.

"Did I win?" Saris sarcastically asked.

"That's cheating!" Amara replied angrily and adorably puffed her cheek.

Ignoring the children's cheating accusations, Saris gazed at the unconscious Camille and asked if that was enough to wake her up, alerting the agents inside the room who hadn't been struck by her voice.

Holding her head and slowly opening her eyes, Camille calmly explained that she knew Ronald had been planning sothing, but she didn't think that he would drug her to trade her off, making it sound as if she were offended by the ans and not the actual betrayal.

Thanks to Saris' magical voice effects, the handler had been cleansed of the sleeping poison, leaving the agents stunned.

"You could've just told about your deal, you know?" Camille continued, looking at Ronald with a sharp gaze, making a comnt about how lucky they were that she didn't bring Cerberus with her as the dog wouldn't have been as rciful as Saris.

Nevertheless, Ronald and the agents weren't allowed to ntion the deal to Camille, and the handler understood that they were being closely monitored.

Suddenly, the sky above the checkpoint darkened, prompting the NSS agents to tremble in fear while the twins rushed to Camille's side.

Leaving their discussion aside for a mont, the group stepped outside the eting room and noticed that the grass on the field was withering, prompting them to look upwards and find Netherius hovering above them.

Ronald, a professional who always stayed calm and logical in difficult situations, couldn't even bring himself to look at the man out of fear.

"I see you are having so trouble…" Netherius comnted with a smug expression, directing his words at Ronald.

Camille glanced around and saw how all of the agents had fallen to their knees. anwhile, Asher and Amara were apprehensive and tightly held onto her clothing.

Saris gulped with fear and anticipation, glaring at the necromancer and wondering if the man was as powerful as Dante, believing that the necrotic energy that flowed from his body could easily rival the pressure that extruded from the warlock.

"Ca-Cami…" Asher muttered under his breath.

"I don't think we should fight that man…" Amara continued his sentence.

Gently patting their heads, Camille told them not to fight and glared at Netherius, wondering why she didn't feel as afraid as the others.

"Why are you after ? Even when you manipulated the Blood Dragons and all those insignificant gangs to target us, you weren't planning on taking alive. So, what changed?" Camille spoke up, seemingly the only one who could speak a word.

Before answering, Netherius slowly floated down to the ground and took a few steps forward, making the twins grip Camille's clothing even tighter.

"It is simple, Miss Camille. After seeing you in person, I realized you would be my perfect bride…" Netherius replied.

"How romantic," the handler refuted with pure sarcasm.

The necromancer laughed, explaining that no other person would even dare to say such a thing to him, which was the main reason why Netherius liked the woman. She wasn't scared of him—she just hated his guts.

"Now, co with , and I'll let the people here live another day," Netherius said, his tone and deanor much more serious.

Placing both of her hands on each of the twins' heads, Camille told them to stay back, determined to go along with the necromancer's plan to protect them.

"What a ss…" Saris interjected, slowly releasing her umbra in the air.

"Hoh? So, that's the banshee? I see why the NSS had trouble…" Netherius comnted.

Saris was aware that she was no match for the necromancer and could easily die if she engaged in combat. However, Dante had asked her to protect Camille before he left on his mission, and she considered that facing his wrath for failing could be worse.

"Saris, stop!" Camille shouted, seeing the banshee preparing herself to attack.

Still, her pleads were to no avail, and after Saris' figure seed to shift forms into a large shadow that bolted straight towards Netherius, the necromancer flicked his wrist and produced a massive bone spike to co out of the ground, instantly impaling the banshee.

Camille's eyes widened in shock as the shadow dissipated, showing Saris' limp body stuck to the bone spike.

"How foolish…" Netherius muttered.

Even so, the banshee still had one last deep breath and used it to scream as loud as she could, making everyone around them shut their ears in pain.

The shout shattered the bone spike stuck to her torso and blasted Netherius back a few ters away, annoying the necromancer and prompting him to raise his arm forward.

Another blast appeared, which shrouded Camille's vision montarily, and when the dirt cloud dissipated, Saris' corpse was leaning against one of the buildings, utterly covered in blood.

As the banshee's body disappeared and turned to dust, Camille felt a tear rolling down her cheek and gritted her teeth in anger.

"Stop…" She muttered. "I'll go with you…"
