At the Jade Palace, Camille, Alexander, and linda were in the briefing room, speaking with an older woman on a video call, projecting her face on the large screen behind the desk.

The woman's na was Noria Stone, the director of the Novarian Secret Service (NSS), and she had personally called a eting with the handlers of the Stellar families to discuss the events happening in the city of Limsa.

After the death's ichor began corrupting the city, Ira asked linda to contact the governnt's secret service, as they would need to evacuate the entire city.

There were already thousands of casualties, and the Golden Fox wanted to keep the dead's toll to a minimum, knowing that it would only increase Netherius' power.

When Noria found out that the culprits were none other than the Onyx Cartel, who had started a war with the other factions, she decided to call the handlers to obtain more information on the matter.

Since the mafia factions had peaceful relations with the governnt, and the gravity of the situation with the cartel had gotten out of hand, they assisted the NSS with the information they needed to slow down Netherius' plot.

The governnt was aware of the supernatural events happening in Novaria, as they were the ones who had to keep it a secret from the public.

The NSS left those matters to the mafia factions to deal with. However, the urgency of Limsa's circumstances was catching a lot of public attention, especially from dia reporters who wanted to enter the city to record footage for news stations.

Fortunately, the NSS managed to act quickly and blocked all access to the city as the citizens were evacuated, using the excuse that a chemical plant had blown up and was covering the city with a toxic substance.

"I'd like so collaboration between the mafia and the NSS. We can't allow this problem to keep growing," Noria said, her voice commanding and confident.

"We are already taking so preemptive asures on our sides. You gotta understand, we need to guard our territories before fighting for soone else's…" Camille replied, matching the older woman's poise.

"I get that, but we don't have anyone that specializes in these supernatural cases, so I'm personally asking for your collaboration," Noria comnted.

"Hmm, a personal request from the NSS' director is quite hard to decline," linda interjected.

"Depends on what they are planning. I'm not sending any of my people without a solid proposition…" Camille said.

The Winter and Autumn handler glanced at Alexander, who had been silently listening to the conversation with Noria, expecting an answer from the man.

"Well, personally, I would love to destroy the entire cartel… But it is just as Camille says. Without a solid plan, I can't send any of my forces and leave my territory unguarded," the Spring handler said.

"I suppose talking with the Sumr handler is out of the question…" Noria comnted, prompting the trio to shake their heads with disappointnt.

"We have a checkpoint on the outskirts of Limsa. The chief of operations already sent a unit that's scouting the city from afar to prevent them from getting infected with whatever nasty substance is corrupting the place," Noria continued.

The NSS had different ranks for the people in charge, with Noria being the director, which was the highest-ranking official overseeing the entire organization.

Below her was the deputy director, the second in command, who assisted the director with managing the institution.

The chief of operations was the third in rank, but their role was one of the most crucial ones in the entire organization, as they were responsible for all operational activities regarding their missions.

Still, the chief of operations didn't actively participate in missions often, as he already had tons of teams to manage, so the most experienced senior agents were chosen to lead critical missions or units.

An average field agent wouldn't report to the chief or any of the high-ranking officials but to their seniors, who would then communicate with the chief of operations.

"We could send a small group to the checkpoint to see how the necropolis is developing…" Camille muttered to herself.

"We are not asking for hundreds of soldiers. We need people who know what the hell is happening," Noria clarified.

The handlers shared a look with each other and nodded in understanding without exchanging any words. They already had a vague idea of who they would send, but they still needed to organize their teams.

After agreeing to lend their help to the NSS, the three handlers called the leaders of their respective mafia factions to discuss the plan.

gan, Lindsey, Curtis, and Oskar arrived at the briefing room, and after hearing the summary, none of them had a problem lending their help to the NSS, considering they were targeting the sa organization.

However, they also didn't want to send all of their best individuals and leave their territory with no protection.

"If all we are doing is scouting the place from afar, then Dante and I are more than enough…" gan said.

"I was thinking the sa thing, to be honest," Camille agreed.

"You should take Sixteen with you as well, or any android… Just in case. They analyze situations differently than humans, so they could prove quite useful," Oskar comnted.

"Sure, we can take one more," gan replied, her tone determined.

When the handlers called Noria back and told her that they would be sending three people, the older woman was taken aback, almost taking it as an offense.

However, Camille quickly clarified and said that she was sending a man who had already beaten the necromancer once in the past, so he was the most knowledgeable on the matter.

Of course, Camille didn't ntion the fact that Dante needed the help of his previous party to defeat him, but that wasn't an essential detail for the mission they were given, which was simply to scout the place.

Noria felt satisfied with the exchange and asked the handlers to keep her updated on their activities related to the cartel, to which the handlers agreed, as long as she did the sa.
