The day after Dante and his group returned to the vampires' manor from Ulport, their flight to the city of Parton was already scheduled.

Parton was a fairly large city wholly under the Azure Rebels' control and was known to be one of the best tourist attractions in the north of Novaria.

Since the city was located at the most northern reach of the country, the temperatures were much lower than in other territories, so Dante and his group had to wear slightly thicker clothing for the cold.

When the group traveled to Ketes to take their private flight, they were told they wouldn't be able to fly straight to Parton, as all of the airports there were under the Azure Rebels' supervision.

After arriving at a rural runway near a small town called Atada, the group was transferred to a helicopter that would take them the rest of the way to the city on the peninsula.

"You know? I actually always wanted to visit Parton…" Zac comnted on the helicopter ride.

"Why is that?" Dante asked with curiosity.

The redhead explained that Parton was the best place in the country to practice skiing and snowboarding, and he had always wanted to try it out. However, since he grew up poor, Zac and his mother never left Novis.

Moreover, there was a popular seaside fish market that always appeared on social dia, and Zac was excited to see it in person.

When the helicopter finally landed on the outskirts of the city, the group was picked up by an SUV and transported to their hotel, where they used fake IDs to hide their identities.

Once they had chosen their rooms, the group of six gathered inside Dante's chambers to do a briefing on the mission.

Looking at the pin on the map pointing at a lighthouse at the northern tip of the city, Zac recognized it as a famous tourist spot for taking pictures.

"Hmm, a lighthouse isn't that big… What could they be doing there?" gan pondered aloud.

The group glanced at Dante, expecting him to have a hint, but the warlock was utterly clueless as well.

A few hours later, when nightti fell upon the city, the group made their way to the port where Parton's Lighthouse was located. Dante carried gan, Laurent took Alice, and Madeline transported Zac.

When they arrived, they noticed the port was quite lively at night, as there were tons of people walking around the seaside markets, which were lit up by hanging lanterns above the street.

The lighthouse had a sign at the front explaining that there were no more tours available for an indefinite amount of ti, and the group understood that they were trying to keep people away from it.

After waiting for a mont when no passerby could spot them, the group trespassed their way into the lighthouse by having Dante break the lock.

As soon as they entered and closed the door behind them, the darkness shrouded the visions of Alice and Zac, so gan opened the breaker panel and switched the lights on.

Initially, nothing seed special about the lighthouse. The ground floor had a small desk and chair, with spiraling stairs right beside it, and the second was a simple terrace.

"Hmm…" Dante humd as he looked up, sensing an eerie magic at the top.

"What is it?" gan asked.

"It's not a person or a monster…" The warlock replied.

After the group made their way to the third floor—the top of the lighthouse— they found a seemingly well-preserved human skull sitting right beside the spinning light.

Zac took a step forward and extended his hand, intent on grabbing the skull, but was quickly halted by Dante as he pulled his friend back.

"Don't touch that…" Dante muttered.

"What kind of enchantnt is that?" Laurent, the vampire lord, asked.

"Ah, so you can see that it's enchanted… Well, I can understand why you've never seen one like this," the warlock comnted.

"It's a translocation key… If we touch that skull, we are going to be teleported sowhere else," Dante explained.

"Like with your soul shards?" gan asked.

The warlock said they were similar. However, translocation keys were set to send the person to a specific spot, while his shards would transport them wherever the crystal shattered.

"Being transported to an unknown area sounds like a terrible idea," Alice said, and the rest of the group agreed with her.

Still, they also couldn't just ignore the skull and leave, prompting Dante to crack his neck as he prepared himself to touch it.

"Are you going alone?" Zac asked.

"Why? You want to accompany ?" Dante replied with a joking tone.

"I an… It's probably better than going by yourself," Zac replied.

"You are not scared?" The warlock continued asking, even though he could see the aura's outline of his friend.

"Dude, I'm terrified…" The redhead honestly replied, making Dante chuckle.

The warlock could see Zac shivering a little, and he found it admirable how he always tried to battle his fears, so he accepted his friend's offer and asked him to co with him.

"I'll go too…" Laurent interjected, receiving a scrutinizing glance from Dante.

"Alright, sounds good to ," the warlock replied with a smirk.

The three boys of the group would be the ones touching the skull, while the three girls would guard the lighthouse.

Before leaving, gan took out a mini cara from her jacket's pocket and pinned it on Dante's clothes. As they wouldn't be able to see where they were going, the brunette thought that having so footage could be helpful to them later.

Their earpieces were connected to each other, so they could still communicate as long as they weren't sent sowhere out of their world.

"Ready?" Dante asked his two teammates, receiving a nod from both.

As soon as their fingers made contact with the skull, their bodies were whisked away from the top of the lighthouse as if a mist had quickly blown them out of their sight.
