Walking through the shoreline was certainly not the thing that Del ever wanted when he arrived in another world, but it seed that sothing that could be his dream turned into a nightmare since the beginning. But well, it happened, there was no need to cry over a spilled milk after all.
"It seems that we have walked for miles, right?" Cole asked.
Del looked at his tablet, "Not really, we only have walked for thirty miles, why do you ask?"
"Thirty miles??? I thought we have walked farther than that," Cole comnted.
"Relax, I don't know where we are heading, but I am trusting Cassandra on this one," Del said.
It was almost midnight according to the watch on the tablet. They relied on their night-vision goggles to traverse through the shoreline without grabbing too much attention. Luckily, the sand of that shoreline was dark so it blended perfectly with their current camouflage. The enemies shouldn't have any night-vision device so they were safe for the most part.
"Cassandra, by the way, how will we call the ship? Do you use a flare or sothing?" Del asked.
"What's a flare? No, we don't use that, instead, I will throw an illumination ball at the sky to a certain distance. At least, one transport ship always roams around the shoreline of Elbanian to carry us, it's one of the perks of living in Ilbistirum," Cassandra said.
"Damn, that's clever, you can find out the information about the enemies and transport the scientist when they need to evacuate," Del said.
"Yeah, hahaha, well, it was a decision made by DEAFI," Cassandra said.
"DEAFI? What the hell is DEAFI?" Del asked.
"DEAFI stands for Departnt of External Affair and Foreign Intelligence, cool na, huh?" Cassandra said.
"Wait, they're not IS?" Del asked.
"Nah, they aren't. They're different although serve the sa purpose for the most part," Cassandra said.
"I see, well, what will the ship do once you do throw the illumination balls to the sky?" Del asked.
"They will usually send a small boat to pick us up to the ship, it's simple, right? Anyway, Del, I think we have arrived at the designated position, I feel that we have walked long enough," Cassandra said.
"Sure, do your thing," Del said.
"Alright, [Utility Mode: Illumination Ball]!" Cassandra created six orbs of light and threw them into the night sky.
The orbs glowed brightly in the night sky. If Del hadn't slaughtered the soldiers in the northern area, they should have been spotted at this point. However, they weren't available at the mont since most of their dead bodies were lying on the ground.
Del sat down on the sand for a while. He was putting his hands around his head while thinking about what he would do later in Ilbistirum because he didn't even know the culture there. Cassandra and Cole were certainly good people, but they never see humans in a good light as far as Del could tell. Cole certainly wasn't excited to see him for the first ti and Cassandra literally tried to kill him at their first et.
He didn't even know whether Ilbistirum would allow a human to stay. Heck, he didn't even know where he could get funds there, Cole once told that there was a guild too in Ilbistirum, but did it work in the sa way as the guild in Elbanian? Well, there was a lot of way to find out about that.
"Cole, once I get to Ilbistirum, do you have any idea on what I can do?" Del asked.
"What can you do? Well, Cassandra and I can figure it out, but for now, I think I'll allow you to stay in my house with my sister, you two aren't that far different in terms of age with my sister. Well, maybe two years gap won't feel that different, I guess?" Cole said.
"Ah, thanks, but where do you live?" Del asked.
"Well, I live in a comfy area located close to the city. It's kinda rural, but definitely more comfortable than living in Alder since our country actually properly planned everything," Cole said.
"I am really excited about it," Del said.
"Don't worry, Del. I think Internal Security will accept you with open hands if they hear my recomndation. After all, you aren't the type that doesn't want to get your hands dirty, right?" Cassandra asked.
"Well, kinda, but I'm not sure," Del said.
"Hey, it's not wrong to be patriotic, alright?" Cassandra said.
"Patriotic, huh?" Del asked.
A boat finally arrived at the shoreline. It was big enough to carry the four of them and there was soone paddling it to the shore. He was holding a lantern. "Are you four are the one that call ?"
"Yeah," Cassandra answered.
"Those two seems to be human, what's the reason you bring them? They're not slave, are they?" the person asked.
"Nah, both of them are my friends that need to take refugee in Ilbistirum, they will be under my responsibility. Do you need to identify myself?" Cassandra asked.
"Well, yeah, I an, it's on the standard operational guidelines. So, who are you?"
"I'm Captain Cassandra Gable, do you need anything else?" Cassandra asked.
"Oh, and who's the other demon?" The person asked.
"?" Cole asked.
"Yeah, you of course, who are you?" The person asked.
"I'm Corporal Cole Aguirre," Del said.
"I see, and those two, who are they?" The person asked.
"They're twins, one is called Del Moore and Anna Moore," Del said.
"Ah, alright, I see, well, I think you both can assign them to their respective assignnt, now get on the boat, hurry, if the Elbanian saw us, we're done for," the person said.
Del and Anna got on the boat alongside with the others. They would be leaving Elbanian for good and it was the no point of return. It ant that he would be leaving everything.. It was not an advisory action, it was a necessity.
