In the pitch-black darkness surrounding Leon, endless hours seed to stretch on forever. Each of the two personalities coexisting within him was left in absolute solitude. No sound, no light—only infinite emptiness. In this strange space, they couldn't interact with one another, each feeling as though trapped in their own cage.
But then, after what felt like dozens of hours, sothing changed. Both of Leon's personalities suddenly found themselves face-to-face. They stood opposite one another, like reflections in a mirror.
"Oh, finally! I thought we were dead!" exclaid the second, staring intently at the first.
"Yeah," replied the first with a grin, nodding in agreent. "I've always heard people say that after death, there's only eternal darkness. Now I understand just how horrifying that place is—and that feeling, overall."
They exchanged glances and simultaneously blurted out:
"What's going on?"
The situation was so bizarre that neither of them knew how to react. However, realizing there was no way out for now, both personalities decided to simply wait. Ti crawled by at a painfully slow pace. To pass it, they began sharing stories of their experiences, thoughts, and goals. After running out of things to talk about, they started looking for ways to entertain themselves.
They started with simple gas: rock-paper-scissors, staring contests, or little challenges like "loser gets a flick on the forehead." But over ti, they began noticing sothing strange.
At first, their thoughts began to rge. Whereas before, each personality had its own ideas and perspectives, now those boundaries were disappearing. Their thoughts blended, forming a single stream of consciousness.
"What the hell is going on?" they both exclaid simultaneously, completely baffled.
But that was only the beginning. Soon, their mories rged too. Events that only one of the Leons could recall beca accessible to the other, and vice versa. The process continued until there were no differences left between them. They were no longer two personalities. Now, they were one mind. A unified Leon.
His body began to change. It grew taller, stronger, more resilient, and more refined. Every aspect of him—be it physical strength or ntal acuity—was enhanced. The skills of both personalities fused, creating sothing far more powerful and efficient.
"What the...?" Leon muttered, overwheld by a strange sensation. He had lost the ability to see in 360 degrees, a perk that ca from having two separate minds. But in exchange, he gained sothing greater. He could now sense the world around him—not with his eyes or ears, but with sothing deeper. He could feel the presence of his loyal AIs: Luxion, Cleare, and Legion.
However, the most astonishing discovery was yet to co. Leon raised his hands and looked at his transford body.
"I feel like... I could split into two again," he said thoughtfully, still examining himself.
But he didn't have ti to dwell on it. His body began to awaken.
---
Leon slowly opened his eyes. The first thing he saw was his AIs. They were by his side, as if they'd been waiting for his return.
"The Master has awakened," Luxion announced, floating around him and running a series of scans. His voice was energetic yet professional. "All your vitals are back to normal. Moreover, your physical condition has improved—from 'good' to 'excellent.' We are unable to determine the cause of this enhancent."
Cleare, hovering nearby, observed Leon closely. Her voice was filled with curiosity:
"Do you have any knowledge about this, Master?"
Looking at his loyal AIs, Leon suddenly swung his arms dramatically, as if making a grand proclamation.
"Yes! The two personalities have rged! Now there's no First Leon or Second Leon. There's only —their perfect embodint! Call Perfect Leon!" he declared proudly, striking an epic pose that seed ripped straight from an ani.
The pose, to put it mildly, looked completely out of place. Luxion, hovering beside him, emitted a sound that resembled a sigh and comnted in a sarcastic tone:
"Do you have chūnibyō or sothing? What's next? Are you going to tell us you're the chosen savior of the galaxy? Or perhaps an ancient spirit has awakened you? Tell , Master, when's your debut as the protagonist of a fantasy epic?"
Cleare imdiately joined in, seizing the opportunity to add fuel to the fire:
"Two negatives might make a positive, but not in your case, Master. Here, it's more like 'two negatives created an even bigger negative.'"
Leon's fists clenched, his smile from a second ago now fading rapidly. His face twisted into an expression of sorrow as he stared at them with genuine despair.
"Are you trying to kill with your words?" he asked, accusing them of being rciless.
His gaze shifted to the third AI, Legion. While the other two were relentless in their teasing, Leon hoped for at least a shred of sympathy from Legion. To his surprise, Legion didn't disappoint.
"I believe this is an excellent outco," he said, his tone calm and confident. "Given that you've now improved in every way."
Leon's spirits lifted as a smile returned to his face. Finally, soone appreciated his transformation!
But his joy was short-lived. Luxion and Cleare imdiately chid in, as if it were their sworn duty.
"Don't worry, Master," Luxion said with a barely concealed smirk. "We'll make sure the newbie learns how to 'care' for you too."
Cleare, picking up the thread, added with a mischievous tone:
"Oh yes, 'care' is definitely our specialty. Rest assured, Legion will excel at it."
Leon quickly raised his hands in defense, stepping between Legion and the other two AIs. His face was a mask of desperation, as if his very survival depended on it.
"No! Don't you dare! If there are three of you now, I won't survive!" he cried out with such seriousness that it was almost comical.
But then, his thoughts jumped to sothing else. He realized he'd overlooked sothing important.
"Wait a minute—how long have I been here?" he asked seriously, looking at his AIs.
"Nearly a week, Master," they replied in unison.
Leon froze for a mont, his face contorting in panic.
"What?! A week?! Damn it, everyone must be worried sick about !" he yelled, beginning to pace back and forth as if that would sohow turn back ti.
"Hurry! We need to get back ho!" he shouted, bolting toward the wardrobe. Leon hastily threw on clothes, scattering items everywhere, and then sprinted toward the ship.
The AIs watched the chaotic scene unfold with calm amusent. Luxion couldn't resist comnting:
"I wonder what made him think anyone even noticed his absence?"
Cleare added:
"Well, if nothing else, he'll probably have a mountain of unfinished work waiting for him. Let's see how he handles that."
Legion, ever neutral, simply remarked:
"If we don't hurry, he'll panic even more."
In the end, all three AIs moved in sync to follow their frantic master, who was already struggling to squeeze himself into the cockpit, ready for an ergency departure.
