-???’s POV-

In the night sky, stars twinkled, and the city’s neon light dimd at around three in the morning.

The Royal Castle was in an uproar as if soone were beating around the bush.

The symbol of the Emperor’s prestige, the Floating Castle, could only be entered through the ground transfer gate. It was protected by an impenetrable barrier that couldn’t be reproduced in modern tis, making it invulnerable to attacks from the sky and even teleportation magic.

That made it an easily defensible fortress and the last stronghold of the Emperor.

That was in the past/

However, in the present day, the Floating Castle is considered an outdated relic, serving only as a symbol of the Emperor’s authority. Although it did house a few national treasures in its treasury, security was not as tight as it should have been.

People viewed it as re decoration, and Royal Guards had beco complacent, thinking as long as they protected the gate, it would be fine.

This complacency was now backfiring on them.

“Draw your swords, everyone! Prepare to repel the intruders!”

In the inner courtyard of the Royal Castle, near the gate.

Six crystal pillars stood tall, and magic circles etched into the ground shone with a brilliant blue light. The Royal Guards hastily ford their defensive ranks, preparing to intercept the invading force.

The Royal Guards drew their swords and surrounded themselves with mana like an aura. Each was a highly skilled unit, and they faced the approaching enemies with stern determination.

“You invaders!”

“To breach the sacred Floating Castle!”

“We’ll show you the Royal Guards’ power!”

Amidst the fervor, Royal Guards stood before the gate, sneering at their attackers.

“Hehehe, we, Nidhogg still have plenty of power left. Let’s show them the evidence.”

Before the magic circles, magicians were wearing black robes, and death masks, with monstrous creatures. Royal Guards could sense the strong mana emanating from them and stared at them with tension.

With their form concealed by baggy black robes and death masks, it was impossible to discern their true identities. They had donned magic armor underneath, but their true forms remained a mystery.

They had likely taken every precaution to avoid being identified, even if they were to pass by on the street. They were prepared to prevent their true identities from being exposed.

“Chichichichi.”

The person at the front raised their hand in a threatening manner. With death masks covering their faces and black robes concealing their bodies, their true identities remained unknown.

Despite their unusual appearance, such as having multiple arms, antennae, and an over 5 ters tall body, their true identities would remain a mystery.

“First, let’s take down that monstrous ant!”

“Alright!”

Upon the command of the head of the Royal Guards, several guards rushed forward.

[Gale Strike Hamr]

This was a martial technique aid at disrupting the enemy’s formation by turning oneself into a magic shield-like bullet.

“Chichichichi”

However, their attacks were swiftly absorbed by Ant-san’s shield, as if it were crashing into a city wall.

“What! It didn’t even flinch!”

To the Royal Guards’ surprise, Ant-san swung its spear and blew them away. While Royal Guards who were sent flying showed signs of pain, they managed to avoid falling.

“Take this!”

One of the n behind Ant-san said in a pause, then quickly pulled the string as he readied his bow. He then aims and shoots at the Kingsguard who are trying to regain their positions.

[Explosive Wind Arrow]

The mont the people around him realized he had released an arrow, the arrow pierced the Royal Guards and exploded. A small razor-like blade of wind ford in green rolled out from the explosion point, damaging the Royal Guards’s magic armor.

However, the Kingsguard thought that it was not so powerful as it only damaged their armor and not their bodies, but they imdiately changed color and scread.

“We’ve lost our magic barriers!”

“Oh no, it’s a magic designed to deplete the magic barriers!”

“The magic stones for our magic barriers have lost their power!”

The Royal Guards were in a panic. As they watched their magic barriers flicker and vanish, they realized that the attack used small, precise magic spells to deplete their magic barriers.

“Now’s our chance! Go ahead and do it!”

“Cock-a-doodle-doo!”

The man gave his orders. A 60 centiter rooster-like monster ca from under Ali-san’s feet, which fluttered its wings and shook its snake-like tail, appearing before the Royal Guards.

[Petrifying Breath]

“Ah!”

“My body...”

“Help!”

The strange chicken released a breath that resembled a sandstorm, engulfing the guards. Those without magic barriers turned to stone, and even a few with magic barriers were petrified.

“Damn it! Fire the new-model Iron Spiders!”

“Leave it to . As the operator of the recently deployed Arachne, I can handle a few of these creatures!”

Seeing his subordinates turned into stone statues, the captain of the Royal Guards retreated to a tank and gave orders while using wind magic to protect himself from the attackers.

The silver tallic shine of the new multi-legged tank, Arachne, appeared with a heavy rumble, aiming its magic cannon at Ant-san.

“Let’s start by taking down that monster. Hahahaha, your opponent is the hero Sakuma, who happened to see the new model in action. [Arachne Cannon, standby!]”

The hexagonal rods on the tank were arranged in a hexagonal pattern, and its power was proven when it took down an Iron Golem with a single shot.

“Mana energy at 120%. Fire!”

Then, a light sphere ford at the cannon’s muzzle, crackling with electricity. Overaccumulation of mana caused the cannon’s muzzle to lt, which made the tank operator proudly call out.

However, Arachne tilted suddenly and fired in the wrong direction, as if it were aiming for the day after tomorrow.
