"Where did you both go last night? You weren’t in your house either. Jonathan told that you two never even showed up there," Michael said pointedly, dabbing a napkin across his mouth as he finished eating his breakfast.

Sara turned her head slightly, her gaze flicking to Luca, wondering how he would handle the sudden pressure from his father.

"We are newlyweds," Luca stated simply, a slight, knowing smirk playing on his lips. That single, private statent was imdiately understood, and was enough to clear up any confusion for both Michael and Vinni, who began smiling warmly.

Sara bead at Luca, pleased by his candid and affectionate response, and he smiled back, acknowledging her reaction.

"Well, I won’t mind having a grandkid soon, then," Michael remarked, unable to resist a hopeful jab.

"That’s not happening anyti soon," Luca instantly replied, shutting down the suggestion firmly but politely.

Sara sipped her water, gathering her composure, and rose to her feet. "I’ve to head to the office. Luca will be staying behind to rest his arm," she pointed out, her tone now switching to her professional mode.

"You could have taken a leave, Sara," Luca murmured, looking at her with slight disappointnt that she was prioritizing work over taking care of him.

"The work is pending. I already pushed so of the important etings for a later date because of... recent events. I can’t delay them anymore," Sara replied, prioritizing her duties and the business. She looked at her in-laws and bade them goodbye.

Luca imdiately pushed back his own chair and followed after Sara. As he reached the entrance door, he heard Sara talking on the phone with soone.

"I’m on my way to the office, Fabio. Yeah, see you soon." Sara removed the earbud from her ear and put it into its case, sliding her phone into her pocket. As she turned to walk out, she found Luca leaning against the doorfra, his arms crossed, watching her with a serious expression.

"I’ll be coming with you," Luca said, pushing off the doorfra. "I’ll get bored here without you."

"You’re supposed to rest, Luca. And it’s your ho. How could you possibly be bored here? Just play chess with your father or spend so quality ti with your parents," Sara stated, lifting her prepared office bag.

She walked up to him and lifted herself onto her toes slightly to kiss him gently on the lips. "I’m your secretary at work, so I can’t stay absent for days. I must finish the work of my husband so that when he joins the office, he doesn’t have to feel pressured," Sara explained, using her professional duty as her reasoning.

"Alright, alright," Luca conceded, accepting her logic. "But know this that the bodyguards will follow you closely, so don’t be surprised if they are around you everywhere you go," Luca inford her beforehand, ensuring her safety was his priority.

"Okay."

Luca took her hand in his and kissed her knuckles. "I’ll see you to the car," he stated and walked out of the mansion. He made sure Sara sat comfortably inside and stepped back. He waved at her and watched her leave in the car.

"You worry too much for her," Vinni’s voice ca from behind.

Luca turned to look at his mother. "Seems like you have a lot to say to , Mom. Now that I’m here, we can talk if you are free."

"The woman I chose for you, Ivanna, is in depression," Vinni stated directly, pressing her point. "Why don’t you see her once?"

"You’re asking a married man to see the woman who is obsessed with ? Seriously, Mom?" Luca chuckled, though the sound held no humor.

"I’m not saying to et her alone. Ivanna called to ask about you. And her mother told that Ivanna has gone into depression after how you broke the engagent and married soone else," Vinni explained, trying to appeal to his sense of guilt.

"Isn’t this entirely yours and Dad’s fault?" Luca stated, his mood turning foul. "I was never engaged to her. You two invited her family and essentially made it happen. I never t Ivanna, except for the fact that she would chase . Her being in depression has nothing to do with . You created that ss, so you must clean it. Not ," he finished, refusing to take responsibility for their failed plans.

"I admit I made a mistake," Vinni said, conceding the point, though her tone still held disappointnt.

"Now that you admitted it, you must also know that I can’t do anything to fix this," Luca remarked coldly, his mood ruined. "Now, if you excuse , I have to go inside." With that, he brushed past his mother and headed straight to his room.

He rolled his eyes in frustration and shut the door behind him. "Why does Mom always act like this?" Luca murmured to himself, walking to the bedside table. He noticed that Remo had given him a missed call.

He quickly called him back and brought the phone to his ear.

"I’ve found out who hired the shooter that targeted Sara," Remo replied, foregoing any pleasantries.

"Who?" Luca asked, the frivolous anger instantly replaced by intense focus and a dark frown.

"Martin Lorozov," Remo answered. "I’m coming to you right now. You’re at ho, right?"

"Yes, I am," Luca confird, then imdiately issued a warning. "Don’t co ho. My parents’ house isn’t secure enough for this kind of information. Let’s et at the safe house."

"Alright." Remo hung up the call.

Luca went to the cupboard and took out his wallet. He fixed the buttons on his shirt and quickly left for the safe house. Parking the car outside, he went straight inside as the n stationed there bowed to him.

Remo was already inside, waiting for him. As soon as he spotted Luca, he rose to his feet.

"Wasn’t Martin dead?" Luca asked, getting right to the point.

"No. We made a mistake," Remo answered grimly. "Rember what happened four years ago at Island X? We forgot to check his pulse after shooting him down. Since the rain was heavily, we quickly left, assuming he was finished." Remo took out a large envelope from his pocket.

"How did you track him down?" Luca asked, taking the envelope and opening it imdiately. Inside were docunts and photos.

"Well, the officer at the station helped . He let see the shooter we caught. He wasn’t cooperating with the officer, but with , he spilled the beans," Remo explained. "He ntioned receiving a critical phone call on his personal number very early on, likely a month ago. I tracked that number and found out it belonged to Martin’s phone."

"I’m going to kill that fucker," Luca muttered, his jaw tightening with rage as he looked at the contents of the envelope. "Where is he these days? In the capital or so other city?"

"He’s currently in Italy," Remo answered. "But I would suggest you not to go there. I’ll find him first," he added.

"Hmm. Make sure to find him at the earliest. We don’t know what can happen in the future," Luca stated, his tone serious and demanding imdiate action.

"Will you tell Sara about this?" Remo then asked, his voice hesitant. "I know I shouldn’t be advising you, but now that you’re married, you should seriously consider Sara’s feelings. She’s not from this line of work, Luca. And what happened that day must have left so deep trauma in her. Won can be fragile when it cos to things like this."

"Don’t worry," Luca explained, shaking his head. "Sara and I have cleared the misunderstandings between us. I’ll tell her everything."

"Really?" Remo arched his brows in genuine surprise and chuckled softly.

"Yeah. She ended up seeing more than she should have, regarding my other life. And I realized I couldn’t keep this existence from her anymore," Luca replied, a sense of relief in his voice.

"That’s great, man," Remo answered, clearly supportive of Luca’s decision to be fully honest with his wife.

Luca kept the envelope back on the table after putting the items securely inside. "Inform of every single thing you discover, Remo. Martin Lorozov isn’t an easy guy to take down; he troubled my grandfather too in the past," he stated, highlighting the serious threat Martin posed to the entire family.

"Of course, I will," Remo assured him, understanding the gravity of the situation. "Should I drop you ho?"

"No. I’ll not be going ho but to the office," Luca stated, rising to his feet and heading for the door.

"Okay. See you later then," Remo replied, watching Luca leave.

As Luca entered the car and fastened the seatbelt, he felt his phone buzzing inside his pocket. He pulled it out and saw an unknown number flashing on it. He hovered his thumb over the screen and finally answered it.

Bringing the phone to his ear, he heard a familiar voice from the other side.
