[Gray Ore Zone]

Stone Six and the others still had no idea danger was near.

And the goblins did not know that their mining area had already been invaded by humans.

Both sides only wanted to happily mine for now.

“Chitter-Chatter!”

“Gwara~ Gigi~”

“Chirp! Chirp!”

So unintelligible language sounded by Stone Six’s ear.

Stone Six thought he’d misheard.

He quickly put down his pickaxe, ready to listen carefully to that strange tone to find out what was going on.

The goblins, from a distance, also saw a flash of green, a dazzling green light glinting among the gray rocks of the Gray Ore Zone.

The red-hatted lead goblin pointed toward Stone Six.

Then it began chittering away and started walking in the direction of Stone Six and the others.

Because, they mistook Stone Six for one of their own partners.

After all, there were many mounds of stone in the Gray ore zone. Those stones just happened to block Stone Six and the others’ bodies, leaving only the heads with hats exposed.

So the goblins didn’t realize that the people in front of them were no longer their partners.

———

“Did you just hear sothing?”, Stone Six asked his companion beside him, puzzled, “So syllables with really weird tones, like birdsong but not quite.”

“Where would birds in this cursed place co from?”, his teammate asked, confused.

“That’s true!”, Stone Six nodded in agreent.

He figured maybe he’d been breaking up too many rocks and hallucinatory sounds popped up.

Just as Stone Six was about to lift his pickaxe, that sound appeared again—

“Chitter-chatter!”

“Listen!”, Stone Six hurriedly tugged his teammate, “There really is a weird sound.”

“Eh, there really is!”

“Is it a bird?”

“Not a bird, goblins!”, Soone answered.

Everyone was shocked, “What? Goblins?”

“That can’t be right, didn’t the Lord Leader already wipe out the goblins here?”

“Exactly! The goblins here were already killed by the Lord Leader,” Stone Six angrily turned his head and cursed, “Why are you spreading false alarms… what Lord Leader! How did you co back?”

“Because of my negligence, I failed to notice that there are still many goblins living underground here,” Ethan said as he quickly drew his bow and nocked a fire arrow.

At that mont, the goblins finally arrived, appearing before Stone Six and the others.

“Hiss!”

“Hiss N!”

The villagers all inhaled sharply.

They had originally thought the Lord Leader was joking, but when a whole group of goblins appeared before them, they realized the seriousness of the situation.

One goblin was already hard to deal with before. Now there were a dozen or twenty of them, even a powerful being like the Lord Leader couldn’t easily handle that, right?

Were they going to die here today?

“Chitter-Chitter!”

The goblins looked at the humans.

The humans looked at the goblins looking at them.

Then the goblins widened their eyes, pointed at the group of humans, and began shrieking.

“Gwara! Gwara!”

Whoosh!

Ethan didn’t wait for the goblins to react.

He fired the fire arrow straight at the goblin group.

Whoosh!

The fire arrow streaked like a teor, cutting across the sky above the Gray ore zone.

The goblin leader, the red-hatted goblin, drew the big butcher knife from its waist and slashed at the fire arrow.

The other goblins spread out and began attacking the villagers.

Seeing this, Ethan was overwheld. He could protect himself with what he had on hand, but saving the villagers he had so hard-earned was almost impossible. After all, he alone had only two hands; even if he fought, he could hardly beat four hands.

And there were not just four hands, maybe forty.

'If only I could move faster, faster, just a bit faster!'

'Right!'

'(๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧ Agility scroll!'

[Agility Temporary Boost Scroll: After using the scroll, agility doubles instantly! Duration: 30 minutes]

"USE!!"

The next mont.

Ethan felt a surge in his body.

It felt not like he had beco faster, but like everyone around him had slowed down.

The villagers’ speed was even worse, they moved slower than a turtle that takes an hour and a half to walk five hundred ters, by a hundred tis.

Daji and the goblins, usually known for agility, appeared in Ethan’s eyes like movie slow motion.

He drew a wind arrow again.

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

Whoosh!

Three shots in an instant.

Two of them hit goblins who had raised their pickaxes and were about to attack the villagers.

The goblins struck by the wind arrows were blasted away.

Then a tornado ford inside them, tearing them into mush.

As for the remaining arrow, Ethan didn’t aim at any specific goblin. He shot at the direction the goblins were advancing.

Instantly, the inertia generated by the tornado lifted the charging goblins into the air.

Only the red-hatted goblin was unmoved by the tornado.

"Not afraid of wind?"

"You must must be afraid, right!"

Ethan didn’t waste words. He drew a fire arrow and fired it straight at the red-hatted goblin.

The red-hatted goblin was indeed fast.

It tracked the fire arrow’s trajectory and tried to dodge the attack.

Unfortunately, Ethan was faster.

Another fire arrow shot out, cutting off the red-hatted goblin’s escape route.

Seeing its dodge blocked, the red-hatted goblin flew into a rage. It stopped trying to avoid and charged straight at the fire arrow instead, planning to use a death-first spirit to clash with Ethan head-on.

Pfft!

The fire arrow struck the red-hatted goblin’s body.

But this thing was really tough. The fire arrow burned wildly inside it.

Black smoke and the sll of roasted at even puffed out…

[Red-Hatted Goblin: Much tougher than green-hatted goblins. Its HP bar is more than double that of a normal goblin, and it has so magic defense, making it quite durable.]

“…”

Ethan was speechless when he saw that description.

'An enchanted fire arrow can’t kill you?'

'High defense is one thing…'

'Agility is another!'

'How are you supposed to fight that?'

“AHHHH!”

The red-hatted goblin had clearly been hit.

But it showed no sign of stopping, charging at Ethan like a mad bull.

Looking ready to die together with him.
