“Rapid fire!”

Ethan tried again, firing arrow after arrow.

With the Precision skill bonus now, he felt like he was cheating.

Several arrows in a row hit the bullseye, and three of them even stacked into each other, ruining two of the arrows.

But Ethan didn’t mind. Compared to the superpower he’d gained, that loss was nothing.

’This Lucky Treasure Chest seriously solved my urgent problems.‘

Ethan was pretty satisfied. Then he rembered there were two blueprints in the chest.

He decided to learn them both at once.

[Whetstone crafting skill learned.]

[Fine Compass crafting skill learned.]

[Whetstone: Can sharpen a rusty tal blade. In the wild, a sharp knife is an absolute necessity. Crafting requirents: Quartz Sand 10/2, Mud 280/1, Resin 9/1]

[Fine Compass: In the mist, having a fine compass can save your life! Crafting requirents: Lodestone 0/1, Glass 6/1, Resin 9/2]

“Huh?“

Ethan clearly rembered having plenty of lodestones, so why did it show 0?

He quickly opened the warehouse and then realized these two things differed by a single characteristic.

In his warehouse, he had one hundred portions of magentite stored.

But the compass needed lodestone.

“Could it be that I have to slt lodestone in the Alchemy Furnace to make magnetite?”

[Upgrade Tree]

[Stone House: Alchemy Furnace]

He opened the list.

Ethan quickly found the Alchemy Furnace’s build requirents.

[Alchemy Furnace: High temperature of two thousand degrees, can slt most tals! Build requirents: Stone 186/100, Mud 50/100, Fire-type Beast Core 0/2]

[Add 4 Charcoal to run for 1 hour]

[Add 1 Spirit Stone to run for 10 hours]

”More beast cores,“ Ethan sighed.

And the furnace required charcoal or spirit stones to run; ”4 charcoal for 1 hour? What a rip-off.”

”Forget it.“

He’d synthesize the whetstone first.

[Whetstone 1, Quartz Sand -2, Mud -1, Resin -1]

In the next second, a square, unremarkable whetstone appeared in his warehouse.

He took it out and tried sharpening the rusty axe; the result was unexpectedly good.

After about a minute of grinding, the rusty tal axe shone bright; all the rust was completely gone.

The axe’s description changed as well.

[Sharp tal Axe: A finely forged dwarf-made axe, very sharp. Special effect: Critical Hit 100%]

”It even gained a crit effect? Ti to try this out.”

He grabbed so resin and poison thorns from the warehouse, planning to take out that beehive to the west while testing the weapon and get so honey to eat.

Although he’d had at recently, without seasonings the food had been boring.

Stepping outside, Ethan saw the prompt again.

[West: At a distance of 50 ters, there is a patch of low shrubs with a beehive. The honey is sweet, but beware of bee attacks. Consider using fire, resin poison thorns is a good combo.]

Heading to the west prompt, Ethan soon found a half-ter-high beehive among the low shrubs.

The tan, oval hive had countless bees going in and out.

Ethan quickly noticed sothing else.

So of the bees were bright red and had exclamation marks over them.

He focused on those red bees.

Sure enough, they had prompts.

[Mutated Killer Bee: These bees long fed on the nectar of Fla Flowers and have mutated. If stung by their stinger, you may be infected with fire poison and spontaneously combust from the inside out.]

[PS: Such a powerful creature still has weaknesses, because of their mutation they greatly fear poisonous smoke; the fire attribute amplifies poison smoke’s power, and they can easily choke themselves to death.]

‘Holy crap!’

Ethan panicked a bit; he’d thought this was just a mundane beehive, who knew there were mutated killer bees inside.

From the prompt, he could be almost certain these mutated killer bees were terrifyingly potent.

If stung, you’d spontaneously combust and die.

”This… is way too dangerous.“

But fortunately, these mutated killer bees weren’t without weakness.

They feared poisonous smoke, exactly matching the materials Ethan had brought.

However, running over to place poison thorns and resin would still be risky, so Ethan’s gaze landed on the White Eagle.

“White Eagle, can you accurately drop these poison thorns and resin right under the hive?”

Ethan looked at the White Eagle’s dense feathers; even if the bees tried to sting it, they probably couldn’t reach the skin.

Having it do the job was perfect. The shrubs, though, were thick. He worried the White Eagle might not be able to place the materials exactly beneath the hive.

“Eeeng!”

The White Eagle puffed out its chest, indicating it had no problem.

Ethan then hung a large bundle of poison thorns on the White Eagle’s claws and tucked resin evenly among the thorns, then ordered, “Go! Pikachu, I’m counting on you!”

“Eeeng! Eeeng!”

The White Eagle spread its wings and flew.

In the blink of an eye it was over the hive. It landed on the shrubs above the hive, used its beak to peck away the obstructing branches, making the hive shake constantly.

The bees in the hive seed to sense danger and sward out.

Countless fiery red bees circled the White Eagle.

Seeing the dense line of exclamation marks, Ethan felt a chill, good thing he sent the White Eagle. How many of those mutated killer bees could he have handled on his own?

Get stung once, and he’d be dead.

‘Close call! Close call!‘

The White Eagle flapped tirelessly; a gust of wind blew away a large number of bees.

The remaining bees, though not blown off, couldn’t penetrate the White Eagle’s dense feathers, their stingers were too short to reach beneath the plumage.

That made the White Eagle even bolder.

Soon, the shrubs above the hive were stripped bare by the White Eagle.

Only then did it drop all the poison thorns and resin from its claws; they landed around the hive, nearly burying it completely.

“That should do it!”, Ethan watched and imdiately commanded, “White Eagle, return!”

However, When the White Eagle spread its wings and flew back toward Ethan, he noticed a huge swarm of bees following behind it, including countless mutated killer bees.
