Chapter 423 – Soone Challenged Jasmine
"I can see why Catherine was so confident that they would win. The tables have been drastically turned on us and I am sure it's a matter of ti the ladies start teasing us," Steve said, his eyes focused on Jasmine who wasn't paying attention to what was happening around her.
Maybe one of the reasons she was leading was because she didn't let herself get distracted by the ladies cheers or the onlookers' praises.
"Done!" Jasmine said to the excitent of the ladies who shouted in excitent.
"Hey, why are you guys so quiet? Can't you talk anymore like you did when it was your turn?" Evelyn said with a smile.
"It's not that they can't talk anymore but the truth is they have eaten the humble pie since we won," Elizabeth said beaming.
"You ladies cheated! Jasmine…,"
"Hey, don't do it or we are gonna end up suffering if you challenge the ladies," Alfred nudged Jeff by the ribs but too bad his warning was late. The ladies heard Jeff's words.
"We cheated? How did we do that under you guys close watch?" Evelyn asked as she stare at their faces.
"I am not the one who says it, so why are you all looking at like that?" Jackson tried to defend himself.
"I wasn't also part of it," Steve and Alfred said when the ladies shifted their piercing glances to the two of them. The way the ladies acted was as if they didn't know that it was Jeff who said it.
"You guys are such betrayers! I can't believe you give up so easily," Jeff said pretending to be angry at the guys.
"If you think we cheated how about you guys go one on one with Jasmine, let's see whether you guys will still be able to accept defeat when she wins against all of you," Evelyn challenged the guys.
"It's Jeff who made the statent so it's only fair he is the only one to go against Jasmine on the ga and not us. We will be the audience just like you ladies," Jackson said as he pulled slightly away from the pool table.
"Our won are always right so going against them when you know that you stand no chance of winning is suicidal," Jackson whispered to the earring of the two guys standing side by side with him.
"Challenging one of them is good but they are quite scary when they join forces. One who challenges them in a group will have no other person but himself to bla," Alfred added, his eyes centred on his wife.
"So do you accept the challenge Pretty Boy?" Jasmine who was itching to play the ga asked with an evil grin on her face.
"There is no need to stare at like that. Since you are the one I am playing with I will go easy on you, don't worry," Jasmine said beaming.
Everyone at the table knew that Jasmine is gonna do the opposite of what she said after the ga began.
A few minutes later, the ga was arranged in the rectangular rack. A coin was tossed to determine who will break and Jasmine ended up breaking the ga.
"Haha… Jeff, you are doing better than I imagined," Steve said jokingly seeing how well Jeff was playing. He had successfully struck five balls into the pockets without giving the chance to his opponents.
"I guess the fear of losing has made him shape up, don't you agree with ladies?" Evelyn teased, making Steve and Jasmine smile.
"Evelyn, I will suggest that you stop teasing Jasmine's Pretty Boy because I am sure he will end up blaming you if he loses," Elizabeth joined in the fun.
Sooner than expected the cue stick fell into Jasmine's hands. Just like before she stunned everyone once again with her skills. People even began gathering beside their table when they saw that sothing fun was going on there.
The ladies cheering attracted the attention of others to their table.
Just then a guy in a black short sleeve shirt walked up to the pool table. The frown on his face while watching Jasmine play showed his feelings.
"Stupid!" The guy said loud enough for others to hear. Because he was standing close to where Jasmine stood, Jasmine heard his words loudly and this made her pause. She turned to look at the one who spoke.
"What's there to be proud of lousy tricks. Do you think you are the Queen of Pool gas just because you strike a few balls into the pocket?" The guy asked giving Jasmine contemptuous glances.
"It's not Queen Of Pool Ga," Jasmine said in a cold tone. Her words made everyone wonder why she rejected the title the guy gave her. They could see how good she was in the ga and they didn't see anything wrong with the title.
"But it's Empress or Goddess Of Pool Gas, got it?" Jasmine corrected with pride. Her words caused people to begin cheering for her.
"You are such a proud lady….,"
"That's not called pride but confidence. She is confident about what she can do but how about you? Are you confident of defeating her in the pool ga?" Evelyn asked in a firm tone.
"She is damn right about that. If you are confident about winning her why don't you play just one round with her…,"
"I don't deal with proud fools like her," The guy said as he turned to leave.
"What did you just call my woman? Repeat those words and I promise to show you what happens to proud people like you who knows nothing other than spewing nonsense," Jackson said fiercely as he made to charge forward. Steve and Alfred held him in place.
"Let the ladies handle him in the way they know how to do best. You know you can always count on them," Steve said in a bid to prevent any fight from breaking out.
"You said our friend is a proud fool right but you will be the loser here if you refuse to accept the challenge. If you leave after causing a scene then we will conclude that you are scared of losing…,"
"And that will automatically make you a proud idiot," Evelyn completed the words for Catherine in case Catherine tried to hold back from insulting the guy.
