Chapter 406 – Jasmine Talks To Her Parents After So Long
He quickly put his shirt and trousers on before he went back to the bed. Jasmine helped to arrange his hair before making the video call.
"Happy New Year Mum, Auntie!!!!" Jackson and Jasmine chorused out of excitent. Mrs Avans was surprised to see Jackson sitting behind Jasmine but she masked her surprised expression well.
"Naughty girl, you have finally decided to call after making worried for so long?" Mrs Avans scolded.
"I won't deny the fact that I am naughty but mum it was really not my intention to make you worry," Jasmine said in a composed tone.
"I needed fresh air and a suitable place to let out all my bottled up emotions that is why I took a vacation. I didn't let Cat inform you about it because I didn't want to see….,"
"What vacation would one have and does not call ho or answer calls and ssages? Who goes on vacation and cut off all ans of communication?" Mrs Avans who had already known the truth about her disappearance asked.
"Stop lying to Jasmine because I won't buy it," Mrs Avans said fiercely.
"Nothing can escape mum's eyes. I can't believe I have been caught red-handed by you," Jasmine tried to brighten up the mood by joking.
"How dare you run away after causing such a ss? If you knew you weren't capable of handling the consequences of your reckless lifestyle then you should have to lead a more quiet life," Jasmine and Jackson heard a man's angry voice at the other end.
"How dare you run away and make everyone at ho worried about you? Haven't I always taught you to clean up your…,"
"Avans, this is supposed to be a happy day for everyone can you not ruin everyone's mood so early?" Mrs Avans shifted her gaze to her husband sitting so distance away. He wasn't caught by the cara that is why Jackson and Jasmine didn't know that he was there.
"And would it do you any harm to tell her that you have missed her during the ti she was away without contacting us? Why are you daughter and father duo so stubborn and prideful?" Mrs Avans said bringing her face back to the screen.
"Happy New Year father," Jasmine greeted. She didn't sound elated while saying this. She even had a frown on.
"Happy New Year, uncle," Jackson greeted in a polite tone.
"Mum, I know you miss and I miss you more which is why I will be returning later. I will visit you when I return, don't forget to inform the chefs to prepare all of my favourites," Jasmine said smiling. rely seeing her mum's face made her feel happy.
"I will be expecting you later then…,"
"Mum, I was so happy to see you that I forgot to introduce him," Jasmine said as she raised her hands and stroke Jackson's face.
"Mum, this is Jackson Smith. You know him so I don't have to go into details about his family. What you should know is that he is mine," Jasmine said, her smile broadening. Even her eyes shone brighter than usual.
"Naughty girl, why are you talking as if you own him?" Mrs Avans scolded.
"Mum, I am telling the truth so why are you scolding . Besides if he is mine that ans he is automatically your son-in-law…,"
"And who said you could make that decision? How can he ever be our son-in-law if he hasn't gotten our permission yet?" Mr Avans cold voice interrupted them. His words threw Jasmine into a fit of anger.
"Since I don't recall giving him the permission to marry you that ans I don't have a son-in-law like him…,"
"Father!" Jasmine shouted in an unhappy tone.
"Father, how could you say that…,"
"Isn't it just to get our permission so why are you getting so worked up over what your father said?" Mrs Avans stopped the two of them from fighting over the phone.
"Bring him ho today and let's take a closer look at him. Who knows your father might just permit him…,"
"If he thinks it is easy to win over and make give out my daughter to him then he is wrong," Mr Avans said as he stood up and left the sitting room.
"Mum, can you hear what he said? Why is father?…,"
"All fathers are protective of their children. You don't have to get angry at your father," Jackson said in an understanding tone. He didn't let his expression show that he was affected by Mr Avans words.
"Don't forget to bring him over when you drop by at ho. I want to have a closer look at the one who has made my daughter go all shaless," Mrs Avans said playfully as she smiled at the both of them. She disconnected the call afterwards.
The angry Jasmine pushed the laptop away after the call. Jackson sitting with her could tell that she was angry.
"I wonder why I called mum. I should have just waited to do that when I get ho, now my mood has been all ruined because of the phone call," Jasmine muttered in annoyance.
"Are you making this long face because of what your old man said?" Jackson asked, slowly turning her around so that she was staring at him.
"Miss Naughty, I don't think your old man an any harm. He wants the best for you so I don't think you should get angry because of what he said. Besides, you look less beautiful when you frown so smile hmm," Jackson let go of his feelings just to make her happy.
"Ice Prince, he is against you so why are you supporting him?" Jasmine asked not understanding why Jackson would support her father when he is the one who should be angrier than her.
"I am not taking sides…,"
"You are obviously taking his side so why are you denying it?" Jasmine asked in anger.
"I am not taking sides, Jasmine. What I am trying to say is your old man cares a lot about you. He loves you and I am sure he isn't like you are thinking…,"
"What are you saying, Jackson? Why are you speaking so nice about him when you know how I feel about him. Has he bought you over or what?" Jasmine said furiously as she climbed down from the bed.
