In an instant, all his dreams and fantasies shattered. Now he had only one thought: survival.

At this point, he couldn’t cling to wishful thinking. If only one person had co, he could have fooled himself into thinking it was just a routine inspection.

But now that so many big shots had arrived, they must have found sothing.

“Go out and stall them. Have my father receive them and say I’m not here.”

“But, Head of the family...”

“No buts! Go now!”

“But they’re already here...”

Before he could finish, Loren kicked open the door, holding Requiem in his hand. Blood dripped from its blade. Now the noble understood why no one else had co to inform him.

“You really made search for you...”

Loren stepped forward with Requiem, closing in. The noble had already lost all will to resist. He knew that if he so much as moved, the three people behind Loren would tear him apart.

“You’ve wasted quite a bit of my ti...”

By now, even as stupid as the noble was, he realized his deeds were completely exposed. He knelt down and began to beg:

“It wasn’t my fault! Soone used the power of the Outer Gods to beguile . He’s a follower of the God of Hatred, and also Koranda’s lover—he has a grudge against you...”

“Is this the one you an?”

Loren signaled with his eyes, and Casper tossed a man bound in thorny vines before the noble.

“I can’t believe I wasted so much ti on two insignificant nobodies like you. I’m furious now.”

Black smoke still seeped from the man’s body, but that bit of power couldn’t break free of a ninth-tier mage’s control.

He could handle so small fries, but Casper was currently the strongest publicly known mage in the God of Bountiful Harvest’s territory.

“I feel so stifled...”

Loren had thought whoever had been scheming against him for so long was a real powerhouse. He’d even brought so many people when going to capture him, afraid of failure.

But it turned out to be just two nobodies. This lover of Koranda’s was soone Loren could instantly kill with Return to Earth, and the noble was soone William could wipe out with a single word—his entire family.

The fight wasn’t even worth describing.

Now Loren understood why he hadn’t killed this guy when he wiped out Koranda’s entire family. He was too weak—so weak that people simply assud he was just a duck.

At best, he was decent-looking, which was probably why Koranda had taken a liking to him. Whether he was a lover or just a toy was debatable.

“How did you have the guts to co after ?”

Loren placed his hand on the noble’s head, grabbed his hair, and yanked out a handful, then shoved it into the man’s eyes.

After venting for a while, Loren cald down:

“Handle the rest according to the rules. I can’t be bothered with this. Rember to report the situation to later. Goodbye.”

There was still a point of doubt—exactly what Loren had just asked: how had they found the courage to move against him?

Loren didn’t feel like overthinking it. He planned to hand everything over to others.

He rubbed his temples, feeling a bit ntally exhausted.

“I’ll go get a massage later...”

Mirrorheart’s massage skills were excellent, but Seraphina’s were even better. In the end, Loren chose to have Mirrorheart do it.

After returning ho, Loren dragged Mirrorheart to the bathroom. The bathroom in his house was luxurious, equipped with all kinds of anities—even a steam room. It was almost as good as so bathhouses.

At Mirrorheart’s strong insistence, Loren took hold of her chain.

“...”

Loren sighed. Joining the order was actually quite difficult. Ordinary people really couldn’t get in. The requirents were extrely strict; you had to have so special skill to join.

For example, Luna was at a normal level—she couldn’t join. Mirrorheart’s abilities happened to be up to par, which was also where she surpassed Seraphina.

The easiest to join was Laila. Loren planned to find an opportunity to let her try.

Naclis would never be able to join, because she was a Witch and had already stopped growing.

After washing away his fatigue, Loren slept exceptionally well, not waking until noon the next day.

It was Sunday. Loren, who had only taught three classes that week, finally had a chance to rest. He didn’t plan to do any work today.

After eating, Loren lay down on the rocking chair on the balcony, playing music on the record player he’d brought back from the Uridia Kingdom. Movila, in her raven form, nestled in Loren’s arms, while Starnight stood on his shoulder, swaying with him.

It was as peaceful as if he were dead.

Anna quietly scooped Movila down and then curled up in Loren’s arms.

Loren opened his eyes and glanced at her, but didn’t really mind. He reached out and hugged Anna. Movila flapped her wings and landed on Anna’s head.

But the peace didn’t last long before Movila lifted her head:

“Master, Paqina is here.”

“Paqina?”

Hearing that it was Paqina, Loren grew serious. Of everyone working for him right now, Paqina was the most reliable. She possessed an Arcane Ability that even Loren didn’t know about.

“I’ll go see.”

Loren stood up, still holding Anna, and carefully set her down on the bed before rushing to the door.

“I hope Paqina has a very important discovery.”

Loren opened the door, revealing a hesitant Paqina. She was holding the key to Loren’s house, struggling with whether she should knock or just open the door. Loren opening it startled her.

“Co in.”

“Yes...”

It was her first ti visiting Loren’s house, and Paqina seed very reserved. She looked around the decor—all sorts of luxurious items opened her eyes wide.

She also saw Seraphina cleaning. It was her first ti seeing soone so beautiful—almost unrealistically so. Paqina rubbed her eyes a few tis, as if doubting what she saw.

Seraphina smiled and greeted Paqina, snapping her back to reality:

“Oh, right, Master ntor. I ca to see you because I made a very important discovery...”

“Master ntor...”

Just as Paqina was about to speak, William suddenly arrived at Loren’s doorstep. He had brought Lane and Yvonne with him.

Seeing them, Paqina imdiately hid behind Loren. This reaction struck Loren as odd.

William didn’t mind. He started reporting the new situation to Loren, but before he could finish, he felt a sudden palpitation—his face turned white in an instant.

If Lane hadn’t supported him, he would have collapsed to the ground.

“This is a calming magical potion. It should ease your palpitations. Go back and rest for a while. There’s no rush on the report.”

Since William had helped Loren so much, Loren’s attitude toward him had softened considerably.

“Yes...”

William acknowledged, then turned and left. However, he didn’t drink the magical potion Loren had given him.

After they were gone, Paqina ca out from behind Loren.

“What were you about to say?”

“The card you’re looking for—it’s on them.”

Paqina pointed at William and the others’ receding figures and spoke.
