However, Tilan was very curious to know how breeders in the Central Star Domain work and the current state of the transcendent animal industry.
It may not be very useful now, but Jade Skirt could anticipate that in a few decades it would be able to return to the beautiful environnt and rich resources of the past, and the reconstruction of the 'Wind Kite Courtyard' in the Northern region was inevitable. She wanted to get an understanding of the industry beforehand. In the bustling Central Star Domain, the heart of the Federation, it's also the easiest place to get in touch with the core of the industry.
Of course, this is still a long way off, and for now, she just wanted to experience it.
Ti passed quickly, and in the following two days, Tilan, accompanied by Lemon Fruit, was busy in the shop, assisting custors in taking care of their temporarily separated transcendent animals, feeding them dicine and food, grooming them, and calming and comforting them, among other things.
Due to the invisible influence of the Songstress's Talent, she quickly mastered these tasks. The vast majority of animals beca obedient and easily understood her commands when they were with her. As a result, after just three days, Tilan had begun to subtly take over Lemon Fruit's position in the shop, gradually becoming the 'King of Beasts'... Well, perhaps that's a bit blunt. Let's say she beca the beloved and revered one among the animals, the one they loved to follow around, the unofficial crowned 'pet shop princess.' That should be more understandable.
"You go over there and get the custor's package, you go back and find Doctor As and tell him a big dog is sick and needs to be checked out, you get the waterlon from the fridge and give Mumu half to cut, and give half of the rest to the crow flying on the ceiling to keep it quiet and stop it from squawking, and you can eat what's left," Tilan ordered.
Dressed in a purple and indigo skirt, Tilan sat at the front desk surrounded by various small animals, directing a poodle to fetch a custor's stored package, two yellow parrots flew towards the back dical room to notify the doctor, and a white monkey hopped to the nearby fridge to find the large waterlon Tilan had bought that morning.
Seeing such a scene, several custors waiting at the front desk were amazed. They knew about the breeders' ability to communicate with animals, but it was rare to see soone like Tilan command them as if they were an extension of her own limbs. She seed to be new, and they wondered where the shop owner had found such an impressive breeder.
Although the shop looked busy, Tilan still sat comfortably at the front desk, not leaving her seat all morning, but even so, the efficiency of the shop's operations was several tis higher than when Lemon Fruit was watching the shop.
Soon, one custor after another got their business done, and the front desk was empty again. Tilan was still sitting inside, flipping through the business notes and so of the owner's collection of books.
The flapping of wings ca from the ceiling and then a Grey Crow landed on Tilan's shoulder, creating a scene that, paired with her gothic indigo skirt, had a certain charm, like a dark aristocrat from a painting.
"Finished eating? Finally quieted down," Tilan didn't look back and continued to flip through the books in front of her, her fingers lightly lifted to stroke the Grey Crow on her shoulder.
As noon approached, just when Tilan thought she could enjoy so quiet for a long ti, the sound of a doorbell rang again, and then a woman carrying a pet box walked in.
Her hair was dyed blue and purple, and her lipstick was tallic, making her look like a biker gang mber, with plenty of tal rings on her jacket, jingling and clashing as she walked.
With a thud, she placed the box on the front desk and then looked around the store before asking.
"Do you take pets here? I have a chaleon that can turn invisible."
"We do not take pets in the store; perhaps you can inquire at the pet market," Tilan answered proficiently and then lifted her head.
The person in front of her seed quite brash and carefree on the surface, but inwardly she seed nervous and a bit frightened. Tilan was a bit surprised, then turned her gaze to the box beside her.
Inside was a Sequence 5 chaleon, its scales incorporating the colors of twilight, looking sowhat beautiful. It would likely be considered a rare gem to so special enthusiasts.
However, with Tilan's Penetrative Observation ability as a Withering Sequence and combined with the Talent of the Songstress, she easily noticed the poor condition of the chaleon. Being Sequence 5, it was too weak, as if it was forcibly elevated in rank, with an unstable Transcendent Core inside, unable to exert its full strength. If left untreated, the core could collapse over ti.
"I know I should go to the pet market, but I'm in a hurry right now. Your store should have access to plenty of custors who fancy special pets, could you ask around to see if anyone is interested in taking this chaleon?" the woman tapped on the box.
"We can't do that. That information is the private affair of guests, and moreover, the store does not engage in such brokerage activities," Tilan replied following the script Lemon Fruit had given her.
Upon hearing this, the other woman frowned, her tone becoming a bit aggressive.
"Listen, if the deal works out, you could also get a cut of the middleman's fee. Don't be silly and stick strictly to the rules. I'm quite in need of money right now, otherwise I wouldn't be looking to reho it."
Closing the book in her hands, Tilan got a bit more serious.
"First of all, I am not aware if the chaleon in your box is legally acquired, and besides, if sothing goes wrong with the chaleon later on, and the custor tracks it back here, it's the shop's reputation and my job that suffers."
"Lastly, the fact that you're so eager to hand it off without going to the pet market, which would be the most appropriate place for this situation, understandably raises suspicion."
