"Bai Zhou, who is that girl? Do you know her?"

As the two contestants prepared to test their combat skills in the arena, a student spectating curiously asked the youth beside him who held a sword.

"Don't know her, but she seems to have so strength." He could tell that the young girl was probably around Sequence 5.

"Master Gu didn't ask you to go first and test her level this ti? We don't want a repeat of that girl who ca to Master Gu for an assessnt, lost the match, and then shalessly refused to leave the ground, leaving Master Gu quite embarrassed."

"Haha, about that, Master Gu eventually had to contact her school directly to have her classmates take her away."

"Since then, people usually don't see Master Gu assessing newcors himself. He lets us do the job instead, as he can gauge the level of the assessees and approve them accordingly."

"How about you now, Bai Zhou?"

"? Let think, I asked Master Gu last month about what level I could be graded at with my current strength."

"He patted and then said with more effort, I could make expert in a couple of years."

"That's really strong, considering experts in any field are usually in their thirties."

"Hehe." The boy touched his head sowhat bashfully.

"But Master Gu truly is a genius. Don't be fooled by his decadent uncle appearance; he entered Sequence 7 at 38, and even now in his forties, he's in his pri."

"It's said that when Master Gu was young, a girl deceived him emotionally, and after that, he fell into decadence. Then he imrsed himself in swordsmanship and his strength skyrocketed, breaking through Sequence 7."

"Ah ha, which version of the legend is that? I heard he was just too lazy, and it was only because the Federation offers a generous subsidy to master level individuals that he exerted himself a bit extra."

"Probably bits of both, but let's not talk about it now, they're starting."

In the arena, Gu Fangzheng's gaze was fixed on the vibrant young girl before him. Even with a harsh eye, she belonged to those young won with both an excellent figure and temperant. If he were 20 years younger, he might have thought of pursuing her himself.

But now, what interested him more was her refined Sword Intent.

Sword Intent, Blade Intent, Spear Intent – whatever it's called, in reality, it's the conviction that Transcendents form after excelling at a certain skill, becoming firm and self-assured, unyielding and confident, and unwilling to easily retreat or give up. This allows them to maximize their own strength in battle without becoming distracted by various emotions, a quality that's extrely important in the rapidly changing tide of combat.

After a few seconds of waiting, seeing that the girl did not initiate an attack, Gu Fangzheng no longer waited.

"Valley Roaring Thunder Sound!"

The iron rod in his hand thrust out in an instant, leaving a trail of afterimages in the air, the body of the sword vibrating, generating sonic waves bound by a strange force, assaulting the girl across from him like an invisible Sword, and to those nearby, the sword's howl sounded rely sharp. But to Tilan standing directly opposite, it was as if she was facing an explosive thunder.

The piercing sound waves arrived in a flash; should anyone's will waver, they might find themselves stunned by the sudden thunderous blast, leaving them in a blank state of shock unable to react as the Sword Edge penetrated through.

"Azure Bird's Inheritance: Rosy Sky Verdant Sword"

As Gu Fangzheng brandished his sword, Tilan also made her move. She didn't know what kind of swordsmanship or attack style her opponent would use. Her opening swordsmanship move wasn't an aggressive offensive type but rather one paired with a special Secret Technique for assistance.

The Sword light tinted the surroundings a verdant hue, as if a layer of faint rosy light had been draped over the scenery, azure and verdant. The Sonic Howl Sword that was lunging towards her entered this faint rosy glow, and the embedded Extraordinary Effect was filtered, becoming mundane, like an ordinary sound wave lifting the hair by her ears without further effect.

"What kind of move is this? Does it even count as swordsmanship?" The surrounding audience had never seen this defensive technique before. But the two in the arena had no ti to explain, as the battle continued to unfold intensely.

Seeing Tilan effortlessly nullify his technique, Gu Fangzheng found it quite refreshing. This thod of using a sword could only be found in so ancient Sword Sects, where they would incorporate various Secret Techniques within their swordsmanship, making it more convenient to wield and thereby replacing the need for chanting and drawing arrays.

"Thunder Roar Thousand Birds!"

He leaped forward, his form instantly splitting into multiple sword-wielding figures, each assaulting as if they were predatory birds swooping down, their sword moves fierce and powerful, a single person equal to a thousand troops.

"Wow, Master Gu actually used his signature move." Those watching were surprised; considering this move to be quite serious, none among them could receive it even with Master Gu not giving his full effort.

"Similar to the Elves' Butterfly Sevenfold Technique, huh?" The girl watched her opponent's oncoming assaults, speculating in her mind.

Just when Gu Fangzheng divided his form and assaulted from all angles, Tilan also flickered, splitting into identical sword-wielding girls, each confronting their counterpart head-on.

In the air, swords clashed, and within re seconds, figures interwove, blades collided, sparks flew, and then the two switched positions, returning to a standstill.

Falling from the sky, Gu Fangzheng stood with his sword in hand. He turned around to fix his gaze once more on the girl opposite him.

In their preceding swordsmanship exchange, he had already used half of his strength, but the girl across still handled it with ease, completely receiving his offensive onslaught.

It seems this young girl truly is a prodigy, no wonder she was arranged to face him for her first swordsmanship ranking test.

"I'm going to use my full strength now; let's see how much you can handle." He called out, and then his Magic Power surged, turning the iron rod in his hand pitch-black as ink and even gradually widening, as if that made it more comfortable to handle.
