The towering trees rose slowly like giants, their thick branches sweeping down with whooshing sounds. Despite the apparent danger, Sha Lin didn't hurry to dodge the attack. Instead, her gaze burned intensely as she stared at Emity. With one hand shaped like a claw, she aid for Emity's neck, adamant about seizing her opponent's vital point before the branch could hit her.
Since the distance between them was already very close, Emity didn't have much ti to react. The lantern fla in her hand suddenly flared up, sending a wave of fire towards the oncoming Sha Lin.
In the exploding wave of fire, deep red nails extended out to grab the arm in front of her. Then, her other hand seized Emity's throat and lifted her. A chilling and terrifying magic power spread up and down Emity's body through her neck, leaving her as cold as if she had fallen into an ice cave, unable to move.
At that mont, the huge tree creature also made a sweeping attack, hitting them both. The thick branches were like half-ter diater clubs sweeping across. Both of them were in pain, but since Sha Lin was on the offensive and her secret techniques fortified her body, she was not badly hurt. Even as she was knocked away, she still firmly controlled Emity, and after a series of rolls, she was once again on top of Emity, pinning one hand to her wrist and the other clamping down on her neck.
As her grip on the wrist tightened, Emity found it increasingly difficult to breathe, and her consciousness began to blur. The giant tree creature, although powerful, lost its mobility without Emity's command and simply stood still.
"Sha Lin wins, stop fighting," students from both sides began to call for a halt, as the outco had been decided.
Looking down at Emity on the ground, struggling and gradually losing her strength to resist, Sha Lin slowly loosened her fingers, allowing her to breathe a little. Then, after a few seconds, she stood up.
The students from both sides hurried over, supporting the combatants. So checked for injuries while others cast healing secret techniques, and they murmured amongst themselves.
"Phew, that's it, Emity's condition isn't too serious; she should be able to return to the dorm to sleep tonight."
"Sha Lin was too fast this ti, she's reached a qualitative change. Emity's strong secret technique hadn't been fully deployed before she was suppressed."
"The Blood Moon Witch lineage is the most typical fighting style of the Blood Pupil Sequence, quick and decisive, extrely dangerous." Several students discussed with each other, confirming the situation.
A few minutes later, Emity gradually regained consciousness and could stand on her own.
She looked at Sha Lin, who was still waiting for her across the way, with a bit of unwillingness on her face. But she knew she had indeed lost this ti. After a silent pause of half a minute, she slowly walked over.
"I won't bring up my previous views again... You are stronger now," she said, her tone filled with reluctance.
"Hmm," Sha Lin grunted.
Sha Lin knew Emity wasn't convinced inside, but she didn't care about that. She had won today, and Emity had to acknowledge it.
After hearing that, she had accomplished what she intended for the day and left the forest with a few companions. From a distance, the sound of them discussing what to eat tonight in celebration could be heard.
After the opposing party left, Emity's friends also comforted her, each offering their words.
"It was just Sha Lin's fluke victory; there's nothing to be proud of."
"Next ti, just catch her flaw and prevent her from breaking through your defense in a short ti."
"Emity did quite well, it's just that she happened to encounter Sha Lin, whose tactics were her kryptonite."
Tilan and l stood not too far away, as Emity was surrounded by friends they weren't too familiar with, and it didn't seem right to crowd in and speak at the mont. Fortunately, Anjie Molly, whom they had just t, ca over.
"Why don't you co down the mountain with us? Later, we'll take Emity to the Academy's infirmary for a checkup. If there's no serious problem, she can join us for dinner."
"Okay."
After reuniting, Emity, having recovered from the post-battle state, introduced Tilan and l to everyone.
"Are you exchange students from Yuanting? That's quite rare."
"I heard that your place trains many transcendent animals. I want to raise a parrot, but I have specific requirents for its color: a light blue body, red cheeks, and yellow-tipped tail feathers," another girl asked curiously. Her na was Carter.
"A parrot like that..." Tilan thought for a mont, recalling the types of parrots bred at the Academy.
"There seems to be a similar one; I can inquire for you."
"Really? Is there really one?" Carter's eyes widened with excitent.
"I've been looking for a long ti but haven't found the right one. I specified the color pattern because my mother told when she did divination for as a child that such a bird would bring good luck and opportunity."
On the way, Carter beca particularly enthusiastic towards the two of them, chattering non-stop about her experiences and happy monts. It was clear she was the outgoing and easygoing type of girl.
After a quick dical checkup, the ti was already half-past nine in the evening, and everyone discussed where to go for dinner.
"How about we go to the riverside hut near Cedar Forest? There's a grilled fish restaurant that uses fish caught right from the nearby stream, and the taste is amazing."
"Then it's decided."
They headed towards the Cedar Forest on the north side of the back mountain. The long path was through the forest and had no lights, but all present were transcendent beings, so darkness wasn't much of a concern. In addition, two witches at the front summoned levitating fireflies, making the night scenery beautiful.
