The four individuals who had been riding on the hovercraft were blown away in the explosion, their bulletproof armor burnt to a crisp. So slamd into tree trunks, others were tossed high and fell to the ground, still others rolled over a dozen tis before gradually coming to a stop.
The four on the other hovercraft were stunned by the scene before them, their hands wielding light sabers slowed, fear arising in their hearts.
After retracting his force, Valke's gaze suddenly snapped back. The armor that had covered his right hand was now lted away, revealing the robust knuckles and fist underneath. Droplets of orange-red molten tal fell from his fingertips onto the grass, sizzling and producing wisps of smoke, yet he himself seed utterly unaware, and his fingers remained unscathed.
This genius, highly regarded by Edith Academy, was by no ans a decorative plant ant for admiring in gardens.
Although both Valke and the agency mbers carrying out the mission were Sequence 4, the difference between them was imnse. Sequence 4 was the ultimate level for these agency mbers, but for him, it was just the beginning.
With trendous shock held back in their hearts, the remaining four agency mbers continued to charge at Valke. As they got close, they suddenly leaped off their hovercrafts, sending them hurtling towards Valke before swiftly following behind with their light sabers drawn.
Another punch was thrown, shattering the oncoming hovercraft into lted fragnts and chunks, offering an opening for the four to strike.
The energy blade, a type known for its streaming light, cleaved onto the steel-gray armor, sparking fiercely. High-energy, fragnting explosive particles continuously lted the outer layer of the armor, with molten tal and steam billowing out.
Then, a pair of huge, rough hands erged from the billowing steam, grabbing directly onto the wrists of those wielding the light sabers.
"Crack..." the sound of breaking bones.
After the giant hand grabbed the wrists and fingers, they twisted into unnatural shapes, and the light sabers, now devoid of Magic Power, fell to the ground and dimd out.
"Aaaaah—"
The intense pain caused two of the agency mbers to break out in a sweat, their bodies giving in and kneeling, losing their ability to fight.
The remaining two mbers exchanged a glance, then attacked again, this ti from both sides, channeling their full Magic Power into their light sabers which surged with a brilliant blue, aiming for Valke's waist.
A thrust was always the strongest attack for a sword, and with full force, the particle stream punctured through the armor like a hot knife through tofu, passing straight through Valke's waist and erging from his back.
"Ah, ha!" Despite the intense pain, Valke didn't fall but instead, his eyes flared with fierce golden light as he reached out again, grabbing the arms of the two attackers, twisting them apart, and then flinging them away.
As the light sabers lost their power and went out, tumbling to the ground, Valke himself knelt, his waist wound steaming, featuring charred hollows.
Had he been a re mortal, such a wound would have been fatal, but as a Transcendent of the Radiant Feather Sequence, he possessed considerable healing ability. His wounds were slowly healing, yet even if the surface closed up, it didn't an his previous unhard state would be fully restored.
Valke, now immobilized, supported himself on the ground, gasping heavily. Sweat had soaked through his clothes beneath the armor, and at this mont, the other mbers of 'Raincoat Agency' arrived.
This ti they did not rashly approach but first rescued their injured teammates and began reporting upward.
"Damn, so foolish!" The captain's voice seed to barely contain the fury within, it was unclear whether he was speaking of Valke's foolishness or his own team's irrational behavior.
"Take Gleid away, leave that troublemaker Valke, don't cause him more harm."
"Roger that."
Two grappling hooks were suddenly launched, grabbing onto Gleid who lay on the ground, preparing to drag him away. However, Valke, still mustering his strength, held onto the ropes, the high temperature lting them apart.
After several unsuccessful attempts by the agency mbers, they were running out of ti.
A multitude of alarms ca from afar, including the armored riot police from South First District and the elite support squads from the 'White and Blue House'.
"Retreat!"
Upon receiving the order, mbers of 'Feather Coat Agency' withdrew in an orderly fashion, taking all their injured along with key equipnt, leaving behind only the chaotic ruins of the battlefield.
So long as they weren't caught red-handed by the police, what followed would be a matter for the agency's lawyers to deal with in a legal battle with the law enforcent. While the breach had resulted in substantial destruction and commotion, as professional proxies, 'Raincoat Agency' had exercised restraint in executing their mission, ensuring no harm ca to any original residents within the Sal Tree District, even carefully avoiding the pets of the wealthy.
This ant that what seed to be a severe security incident would ultimately be resolved by compensating for damage to facilities and so reparation for ntal anguish, without escalation to criminal proceedings.
Of course, the only exception was Valke. In fact, the agency mbers hadn't intended to strike him so hard at the outset; their objective was to fulfill the client's mission, not to kill innocents and bring trouble upon themselves.
Trouble ant compensation and a reduction in profits or even financial loss, a taboo for any agency.
But Valke was too formidable in his blockade of the agency's operation. His performance was so shocking and frightening to the mission's operatives that in their desperation, they inflicted heavy damages.
