"All units, prepare!"
"Launch!"
Blinding arcs of electricity erupted on the track, and towering Canglan chas shot out rapidly, streaking through the hundreds of ters long launch track, rushing into the vast, boundless space.
As swift as flying birds, yet as small as flying birds, these Canglan chas rapidly transford into tiny, indistinct dots once they entered space, casting doubt on whether they could truly be effective in battle.
In comparison to the universe, humans are exceedingly insignificant, especially when piloting small fighters or chas into deep space, where the presence of the individual is instantly drowned by the excessively vast, even despairing, space.
’Without advanced thrusters, you’d drift in that lonely deep space for hundreds of thousands of years, unable to approach any land.’ A popular saying from the great pioneering era.
As a species of cosmic civilization, humanity is still too young and immature, not yet fully adapted to this Star Sea.
In the Eastern Star Region’s Feikelo Star Domain, a place not particularly eye-catching, exactly for this reason, it was chosen as the testing ground for new weapons.
In the starry sky, this squad of chas swiftly shuttled around, soon encountering their opponents from the exercise, a group of deep red-painted chas. Just from their angular outlines, they easily brought to mind the back armor and horns of rhinoceros beetles, full of aggression and with a highly impactful sense of power.
It’s evident that these opposing chas mimicked the current Central Star Domain’s main force ’Fierce Red Falcon’. Such confrontation also aligns with the current situation in the Eastern Star Region.
The Canglan chas and the deep red chas darted back and forth in the air, both sides firing continuously while in high-speed movent, probing each other, observing each other, and seeking opportunities. As chas from different factions, their styles were vastly different.
The Canglan cha’s exterior seed to have a layer of transparent glaze, making the cha particularly beautiful. Not only that, this special glaze gave it a significant advantage against weapons related to laser radiation; the opponent’s long-range weapons, unless prolonged exposure, would not leave a mark on the cha’s exterior.
Simultaneously, their propulsion system was exceptionally unique, allowing them to maintain extre agility and maneuverability even during high-speed movent, tracing a ghostly flight path.
After the initial exchanges, both sides of the exercise gradually got serious, entering a state of intense battle.
The Canglan chas weaved through the torrent of ’Red Fla Particles’ continuously emitted by the opponents, swiftly approaching those heavy and sturdy deep red chas.
Once close, both sides began engaging in fierce combat, where red and blue Light Sabers clashed frequently, drawing dazzling sparks and debris on each other’s cha exteriors.
...
Half an hour passed, and the exercise slowly ca to an end. Out of the 60 Canglan chas initially deployed, only eight remained, while their opponents were completely annihilated, becoming scrap iron suspended in space.
"The exercise is over. Each squad start counting personnel and proceed with rescue operations."
"Yes." A spirited response ca through the voice channel.
In the central captain’s cha, the pilot pressed a button to disengage from combat mode. The blue liquid filling the cockpit gradually drained away, and with the blowing and dehumidifying of hot air, his body quickly dried.
At this point, he initiated the auto-cruise mode, letting the cha return to the mother port. Then he leaned back in the chair, pulled off his helt, and prepared to relax and rest for a while.
Even for a Sequence 6 Transcendent, piloting such a large cha expends a lot of energy. Once the highly tense exercise ended, the previously suppressed fatigue quickly welled up, sending him into a deep sleep.
About 25 minutes later, like an alarm ringing, he opened his eyes, waking up with his tired mind now much clearer.
He lightly tapped the projection screen, having the AI onboard the cha pull up the battle report of this exercise, and began reviewing the combat data and performance of each team mber.
"Quade did quite well, actually survived and ranked fourth." He glanced at the data chart; he was still ranked first, with a new face below him.
"Haha, looks like our squad has gained another high-level combat force." In the voice channel, a few familiar veterans laughed in response.
"Where’s he from? He doesn’t seem like an ordinary military academy graduate."
"I heard he ca from the southern part of the Federation. Originally, he was supposed to serve in the Southern Star Region, but his family moved to the Feikelo Star Domain, so he ca along."
"He should be worth getting to know better; I’m quite curious about how he trained before."
The few chatted casually in the squad channel, and then the chas returned to the mother port one by one, where they disembarked and walked out.
"Report, sir, the exercise was completed successfully!"
The man, who was the captain, led 12 mbers to form a line, stood at attention, and saluted the staff officer and commander waiting at the ho port.
"Good, after so many trials, this ti we finally achieved considerable success." The commander patted him on the shoulder, telling him and his companions to go back and rest first, then proceeded with the staff officer to the conference hall in the ho port.
"After 47 iterations and improvents, the newly developed ’Blue Shark’ cha can now surpass the ’Fierce Red Falcon’ cha in combat, gaining a certain advantage," the host announced excitedly, followed by applause in the conference hall.
"Although progress on large battleships is slow, the miniaturization of various weapons is still on track, reaching the mainstream standards of the Central Star Domain."
"If we are to exploit advantages in this area, the future combat thods must be modified to evade the enemy’s main fleet, swiftly and flexibly breaking through to the enemy’s rear, to gain an advantage in close-quarters combat."
Because of the rise of the ’Fire Lotus - Radiant Star’ faction, the pressure in the regional star domains has suddenly increased. Not only is the Western Star Region preparing for intense battle, but factions in other areas are also striving to find counterasures, and this new cha project is one of them.
The eting ended, and the senior officer who hosted it compiled the exercise results into a report, then took it to the long-awaited songstress.
"Lord Shui Yanqing, this is the exercise result and the data report of the new cha." In an underground research laboratory, the blue-haired songstress accepted the passed docunts.
"Very good." Shui Yanqing’s current attire was sowhat mature, her blue hair spread out like seaweed, with so spiral waves at the ends.
"Set up the production line according to this design, the ti left for us is not much."
"Understood." The officer answered standing at attention, then walked out of the room.
Soon, quiet returned to the place, the silent underground room had no windows, only various aquariums, where small fish, jellyfish, shellfish, and aquatic life spread and lived, exuding a certain dreamlike quality in the dim blue light.
Shui Yanqing rubbed her tired brow, stood up, and walked among the aquariums, occasionally stopping to admire the life swimming inside.
Facing the increasingly powerful Federal Central Faction, the traditional powers of the Eastern Star Region were retreating step by step. If not for the ’Jade Dragon’ of the Southern Star Region diating a balance, they would have been crushed years ago. Although it is temporarily peaceful today, many people know this is rely temporary.
Once the Federal Center resolves issues in the Western Star Region, they would undoubtedly redirect their fleet to deal with the remnant forces of the Eastern Star Region again.
Under such heavy pressure, the original traditional forces also ca up with various ideas.
"Not to ntion the intentions of other factions, for us, the best way out is to leave this troubled place." As her predecessor, ’Shui Xingling’ Fuyi sent a ssage not long ago, reminding Shui Yanqing to prepare early.
Having the bloodline of a rmaid and the gene of the newborn races, Shui Yanqing found it difficult to gain recognition from the Federal mainstream society. It was bearable during tis of peace, but at such unstable tis, her situation would beco extrely perilous if any extre conditions arose.
After receiving Fuyi’s reminder, Shui Yanqing began accelerating the biological gene project, trying to achieve results before the last mont and preparing for self-preservation in the future.
"If only I had ten more years." Shui Yanqing gently touched the glass of the aquarium in front of her.
After receiving the email from the ’Deep Sea Alliance,’ her faction made great strides in the fields of delaying aging and hibernation technology, but it would still take quite so ti to transform these technologies into practical applications.
"Though the Milky Way is vast, compared to the entire universe, it is still a world within an aquarium, with various limitations."
"Often, only by leaving the familiar environnt can one assess everything at that ti more objectively and fairly."
Influenced by the Aijieka Sea, the Milky Way brought extraordinary power, almost miraculous, to the life of this world and created a unique living environnt.
If the extraordinary power were gone, what path would the real universe outside take? Or perhaps, different from the Aijieka Sea, other mysterious forces exist in other star systems, bringing endless changes and influences.
The world is never-ending, and competition and exhaustion never have an end; the mbers of the ’Deep Sea Alliance’ faction strongly reject this mutually-consuming lifestyle. For them, life should be a rich and colorful journey, experienced with friends and family, witnessing endless sights and wonders along the way.
They are unrelated to strength, but they have their own ease and joy.
"But before setting off, I still want to leave a gift for everyone."
For her, the ticket to the world beyond the Milky Way was already in hand, but as a songstress of the Federation, who had also felt the gentle side of the Federation, Shui Yanqing still wanted to leave a piece of hope for those with the sa beliefs, spreading the technology widely.
’When the day the ti matures cos, those who share my beliefs will also set sail.’ This is the blessing and gift she decided to leave behind.
