Chapter 406: Chapter 259 That Woman_2
When Ran Yan found them, two Secret Guards were cornering her in a dead-end alley.
The woman’s eyes were filled with red veins and she glared fiercely at Ran Yan. Due to her intense running, her hair in front was parted, and Ran Yan, surprised, stared at her face—it resembled her own by about fifty to sixty percent!
Instantly, excitent surged through Ran Yan’s body, it couldn’t be such a coincidence to stumble upon soone who looked so similar to Princess Wenxi! If this person indeed was Princess Wenxi, then her utterly unfamiliar deanor, combined with her ferocity, most likely indicated a split personality!
The previous speculation was rely a wild guess based on the case, but to be able to further confirm Ran Yan’s suspicions excited her. She couldn’t help but instruct the Secret Guards, “Capture her alive!”
Upon receiving the order, after a standoff of five monts, one guard found the perfect opportunity. He swooped in like a hawk, grabbing the woman’s arm.
The woman reacted as if provoked, struggling frantically and biting the sleeve of the Secret Guard. That bite held a ferocity akin to tearing at another animal, biting off a chunk of flesh, and although the trained Secret Guard slightly loosened his grip on her hand, he didn’t let her escape and clamped down on her slender arm again like iron tongs.
Learning from the previous ordeal, the Secret Guard rcilessly grabbed the woman by her hair, preventing her head from moving wildly.
All this happened in a blink of an eye, while another guard secured her by grabbing the back of her neck.
Ran Yan could tell that this woman was exceptionally strong. Despite two guards restraining her, with veins popping on their hands and neck, she was still struggling, a sight Ran Yan found incredulous and thrilling.
However, seeing the woman’s fingers, the joy inside Ran Yan gradually cald down, as they were clear-jointed but darkened hands, with nails filled with black dirt and even a festering wound on the wrist.
Judging by the condition of the wound, which was at least two to three days old, if this woman really was Princess Wenxi, it was unlikely that she could be in this personality state without returning ho all day. Chai Xuanyi, her husband, couldn’t have failed to notice.
Ran Yan pulled out a handkerchief from her sleeve and waved it before the woman’s face, releasing a faint fragrance. The woman, initially struggling vigorously, gradually began to calm down, and her hostile eyes slowly closed.
The guarding beca much easier, and Ran Yan handed a vial of dicine to the injured guard, “Clean the wound and apply this, you’ve worked hard!”
The guard took the dicine, bowing, “It is my duty, I dare not accept thanks!”
“Take her to the carriage,” Ran Yan said.
The other guard complied, grabbing the woman by the back of her garnt, dragging her out of the alley, while the carriage had already followed. The guard threw her into the carriage.
Ran Yan clearly saw the woman struggling a few more tis, amazed at her own understanding of the potency of the dicine she had made. This woman still had a glimr of consciousness, showing the strength of her will.
Inside the carriage, Ran Yan carefully assessed the woman’s condition.
Pushing aside her hair, a delicate face was revealed, although dirtied with gri, the features were clear to see—arched eyebrows blending into the temples, a pert little nose…
Ran Yan had only seen Princess Wenxi once, but because of their striking resemblance, she couldn’t help but take a few extra glances, thus her impression of her was still vivid. Seeing this woman now, Ran Yan was certain, it couldn’t be soone else.
As for the hands… that day, all of Ran Yan’s attention had been on her face, she hadn’t noticed her hands.
Seeing her struggling to stay conscious with half-closed eyes, Ran Yan covered her mouth and nose with the dicated handkerchief, and after two breaths, she finally succumbed to the dicine’s strength and passed out.
Back at the mansion, Ran Yan administered another dose of dicine to her, instructing Wan Lu to lead a few maids in thoroughly cleaning the woman, then changing her into clean clothes.
When Ran Yan saw her next, she was freshly dressed and laid on a couch in the inner room.
Ran Yan observed carefully for differences between her and Princess Wenxi, finding only that she looked thinner, but having not eaten for two or three days, and with excessive exercise, could cause such a condition.
Further observation was required, Ran Yan thought as she watched for a long while before finally writing a letter, instructing it to be delivered to Xiao Song’s residence.
If they wanted to find out if this woman was indeed Princess Wenxi, they had no choice but to detain her first, then have Xiao Song secretly send Secret Guards to the Chai residence to investigate.
“Wife,” Wan Lu entered and said, “In response to your inquiry, the Slave has asked, and the two guards noted that this woman might know so martial arts, as during the chase, they sensed so foundation in her, and she also has significant strength.”
Wan Lu had been stunned for quite a while after bathing the woman earlier, for the cleaned up woman looked astonishingly similar to her own Wife!
If Wan Lu hadn’t grown up with Ran Yan and known for sure that Lady Zheng had only one daughter, she might have thought they were siblings.
“She looks so much like the Wife and t her by such a strange coincidence, she must have a destined connection with the Wife,” Wan Lu whispered softly.
Ran Yan nodded, “Yes… destiny.”
She believed this had to be Princess Wenxi, her face wasn’t common, and it was unlikely to randomly et soone who looked so much like her!
“This woman is wild at heart, to prevent her from hurting anyone when she wakes, tie her up,” Ran Yan ordered.
Wan Lu, having heard that one of the guards was bitten badly while capturing her, didn’t dare delay and personally tied the woman tightly to the couch with ropes.
