Chapter 69: Get In There, You
“What’s with that look in your eyes?”
Sensing Lu Zheng’s gaze on her, Yi Ning frowned and covered her chest.
She didn’t really care that much about bust size, but Lu Zheng’s condescending stare made her feel very uncomfortable.
So what if she was flat-chested?
Flat-chested girls were rare and valuable!
Faced with Yi Ning’s aggressive stance, Lu Zheng averted his eyes and hesitated for a mont.
He had always felt resentful of Yi Ning’s constant tricks and teasing.
Now, finally encountering sothing that could visibly rattle her, how could he just let the opportunity pass?
It was ti to launch a holy war!
He would raise the banner of big boobs and trample the heresy of flatness underfoot!
In troubled tis, heroes rise—how could he be left out?
A glint flashed in Lu Zheng’s eyes.
He was fired up!
Lu Zheng took a deep breath, ready to launch the first strike.
“Hmph! I was rely admiring a certain 5A-rated scenic spot—”
“Hmm?”
But before he could finish, Yi Ning’s gaze froze him mid-sentence.
What was going on?
That threatening look in her eyes—what did it an?
That confident expression—how could she be so assured of victory?
Could that alone be enough to win this holy war?
Lu Zheng tried to recall the earlier events.
What was it?
What gave Yi Ning such a firm grip on victory?
Then it hit him—just minutes ago, his olfactory cells had forcefully picked up Yi Ning’s scent and relayed it to his brain.
Also minutes ago, Yi Ning had magnanimously let him off the hook for what could be construed as sexual harassnt.
Even though he hadn’t ant it that way, in objective terms, he had committed an act of harassnt.
No matter how the court judged it, he wouldn’t be able to avoid a negligence-based harassnt charge.
So that’s what gave her the upper hand?
Realizing this, Lu Zheng looked up at Yi Ning with a hopeless expression.
“Hehehe~”
Seeing Lu Zheng understand the situation, Yi Ning withdrew her threatening gaze and replaced it with a smug smile.
To subdue the enemy without a fight—that was true mastery.
She wagged her finger at Lu Zheng.
“Damn it!”
Faced with the threat of social annihilation, Lu Zheng had no choice but to abandon the holy war and surrender under Yi Ning’s lab coat.
“...I admit defeat.”
He slumped to the ground, gritting his teeth as he said the words.
But Yi Ning wasn’t about to let him off so easily.
She covered her mouth in glee and began taunting him with all her might.
“No way~ No way~ Is this the ace hero of the Hero Association? Bowing before an evil supervillain—what a loser~ ❤ Loser~ ❤”
The endless barrage of mockery made Lu Zheng’s blood boil and his ears ring.
To put it plainly—He was red-hot with rage.
But that did him no good.
Bound by societal morals, Lu Zheng had no way to counter Yi Ning, who had him tightly in her grasp. He could only remain on the ground in an orz pose as she continued her “Loser~ ❤” combo attack.
Only after Yi Ning had had her fill of laughter did she ease off.
“Alright, I’ve laughed enough. Let’s move on to the next part.”
Lu Zheng stayed on the ground in silence, using this as his last show of defiance.
Unfortunately, it was futile.
Yi Ning only needed one sentence to make him get up.
“I don’t mind if you lie there all day, but if you don’t help follow the script for my evil plan, I’ll just activate my evil invention myself.”
Hearing that, Lu Zheng imdiately scrambled to his feet.
He sighed.
A hero always faced these kinds of dilemmas.
A hero must always sacrifice the small self for the greater good.
“Oh, and take your clothes off while you’re at it.”
Now that Lu Zheng was cooperative again, Yi Ning started pushing her luck.
But this request was a bit much—Lu Zheng could never agree to it.
“What do you an by that?”
He wrapped his arms around himself again, glaring at Yi Ning.
He wasn’t so delivery boy.
He sold skills, not his body.
“Why are you so worked up?”
Yi Ning looked at his flustered expression and sighed.
“This is a hot spring center. It’s against the rules to enter the water in a bathrobe or towel.”
Hearing her explanation, Lu Zheng eased up a bit.
But he still held his robe tightly and stood his ground.
Clearly, he wasn’t going to cooperate.
He didn’t know why Yi Ning was so eager for him to get into the hot spring, but he knew one principle:
Never do what the enemy wants you to do.
Yi Ning was desperate to carry out her evil plan in order, so as long as he refused, her progress would be stalled. As ti dragged on toward the end of her shift, she’d inevitably grow desperate and make mistakes.
At that point, he could strike.
Honestly—
Lu Zheng felt a little dirty using tactics like this.
But he told himself:
To beat a villain, sotis you have to be even more cunning.
“I’m just observing the situation—not shirking duty.”
Just to make sure Yi Ning didn’t get the wrong idea, he added a quick explanation.
“Annoying.”
Seeing Lu Zheng’s passive resistance, Yi Ning was genuinely exasperated.
Has she gone too far?
She shook her head, pulled a remote from her pocket, and pressed a button before walking up to Lu Zheng.
“Give your hand.”
She held out her hand toward him.
Trying to lighten the mood.
It didn’t work.
Lu Zheng shook his head furiously and raised his arms, trying to keep his height advantage.
Yi Ning rolled her eyes.
Naïve.
This was her base. She had a hundred ways to make him do what she wanted.
She reached out, yanked off the sash of his bathrobe, and grabbed his collar.
“?”
Lu Zheng tilted his head toward her pale arm.
A bad feeling crept up his spine.
Sure enough—
The next mont, a huge chanical foot sprang from the floor and kicked him square in the butt.
At the sa ti, the wall beside them rose, revealing a wide hot spring.
With the chanical foot’s force, Lu Zheng was launched from his robe, traced a graceful arc in midair, and with a loud splash, landed hard in the water, sending up a beautiful spray.
