Chapter 215

“What is it?”

Hearing Yi Ning’s voice, Lu Zheng turned his head and shifted his gaze to her.

That girl was still wrapped up in her blanket like a caterpillar, squirming non-stop across the wide bed.

The moonlight outside the window shone on the blanket wrapped around her head, casting faint shadows on her face.

Lu Zheng focused for a mont and noticed that Yi Ning’s face showed a conflicted expression.

“You…”

Yi Ning opened her mouth, wanting to deliver the sarcastic line she had thought of earlier to Lu Zheng.

But even though she had ntally prepared herself in advance, when it ca ti to actually speak, she still hesitated a little.

“What’s wrong?”

Seeing Yi Ning stay silent for so long, Lu Zheng asked again.

Yi Ning grew slightly flustered.

She thought for a mont, then blurted out a foolish question in her panic.

“Um… Lu Zheng…”

“If… I an if, okay—if I were to provoke you right now, what would you do?”

Hearing the question, Lu Zheng blinked in confusion.

He couldn’t quite figure out why Yi Ning was asking him this.

No—It wasn’t that he couldn’t figure it out.

It was that Lu Zheng didn’t quite dare to believe his own guess.

Why is she still thinking about this kind of thing at this hour?

Lu Zheng also hesitated for a few seconds, but in the end decided to just tell the truth.

“I’d bring my blanket and get in the bed.”

“I see…”

Yi Ning’s voice ca from that side, sounding like she understood now.

She rolled over, lay flat again on the bed, and stared at the ceiling, lost in thought.

Bringing the blanket to bed—so Lu Zheng wasn’t even thinking of sharing the sa blanket with her. That kind of consequence was totally acceptable.

But Yi Ning had at least lived as a man for so many years—she knew full well which kinds of words from a man could be taken at face value and which couldn’t.

Even so, she had already prepared herself ntally for sothing more intimate, and didn’t really have any deep resistance toward it.

But...

Yi Ning rolled over again, burying her face into her pillow.

Why had she suddenly gone and asked Lu Zheng what he would do if she provoked him?

Now that she knew Lu Zheng would get in bed with her, if she still provoked him—wouldn’t that make it look like she was inviting him to sleep with her?

That kind of misunderstanding would be a disaster!

Yi Ning shrank her head down and started rolling around in bed again.

After a while, she lay back down and stared vacantly at the ceiling.

Forget it! When in doubt, sleep it out!

Yi Ning closed her eyes, trying her best to calm her inner thoughts, hoping to fall asleep quickly.

But it didn’t work.

No matter how much she tried to focus and regulate her breathing, that small feeling of agitation deep in her heart wouldn’t go away.

It was like sothing was weighing on her chest—even breathing felt stifled.

She couldn’t fall asleep.

Yi Ning opened her eyes.

This was strange.

She had failed plenty of tis before—been thoroughly beaten down by Pixel Mask again and again—but she had never been this hung up on winning or losing.

Still wrapped in a bundle of blankets, Yi Ning slowly squird across the bed, her gaze unconsciously drifting to Lu Zheng’s sleeping face on the floor.

Under the moonlight streaming in through the window, Lu Zheng’s features were clearly visible. He seed to be asleep.

Yi Ning lay flat on the bed, eyes fixed on the ceiling.

Perhaps nightti really was a good ti for solitary thinking, because Yi Ning soon combined her past experiences and reached a conclusion.

She knew very well that if she wanted to continue her life in D-City for the long term, she absolutely couldn’t let herself taste the fruit called “victory.”

It was precisely because she knew she couldn’t have it that she never really chased after it.

But ever since she beca a girl—ever since she helped Lu Zheng—Lu Zheng’s attitude toward her had done a complete 180.

He no longer destroyed her evil plans wordlessly and then beat her up without a word, completely disregarding her so-called villain aesthetics.

Now, he would go along with her, wait until she finished her “evil process,” and then dismantle her plans.

And in everyday life, he would also try to accommodate her small, not-too-excessive requests whenever he could.

This was an experience Yi Ning had never had before her transformation.

What’s more, after becoming a girl, Yi Ning had tasted another kind of delight—using her new identity as a girl to gain the upper hand in her daily interactions with Lu Zheng, and using his sense of morality to force him into corners, again and again.

That sweet taste of victory was like a fine wine—once she had tasted it, she couldn’t forget it.

Especially when this sense of victory ca from Pixel Mask, the one person who could always dismantle her sches with ease, no matter how much she put her heart into them.

Yi Ning simply couldn’t resist.

As a villain, suppressing one's desires was never part of the job description.

Why hold back, why play coy?

Yi Ning looked over at Lu Zheng again and called out.

“Hey, Lu Zheng!”

“Lu Zheng!”

“Mm?”

Lu Zheng’s reply was groggy—he had probably already fallen asleep and had been woken up by Yi Ning again.

He propped himself up slightly, yawned, and turned his head toward Yi Ning.

“What now?”

“...If I let you co up and sleep in the bed, can you call ‘Dad’?”

Lu Zheng: “?”

He almost reflexively wanted to blurt out “Are you insane?”

Thankfully, he managed to suppress that urge in ti.

Lu Zheng rolled his eyes at her, then crawled back into his blanket, leaving just one hand sticking out as he lazily waved her off.

“Not happening.”

Yi Ning pouted, looking dissatisfied.

She turned her head, and decided she didn’t have to keep clinging to this “father-child bond” between the two of them.

All she wanted was to experience that psychological high of having Lu Zheng obey her—that was what really mattered. What Lu Zheng actually thought didn’t really matter much to her.

Take foot-licking, for example.

That’s sothing only a subordinate would do to soone above them—but to Lu Zheng, licking her feet might even be a reward!

She’d get the pleasure of being in a dominant position over Lu Zheng, and Lu Zheng would get to intimately touch a cute girl—isn’t that a win-win?

Yi Ning suddenly felt enlightened.

She looked at Lu Zheng again and called out to the back of his head.

“Then let’s change the terms.”

“I’ll let you co sleep in bed—but you have to kneel—no, squat on the floor and lick my feet a few tis. How about that?”

“Don’t worry, I washed them thoroughly. There’s absolutely no sll! I guarantee they’re soft and fragrant!”

“A lick won’t hurt, and you definitely won’t be scamd!”

Yi Ning slowly wriggled to the edge of the bed and, struggling a bit, extended her little foot from her cocoon of blankets, lifting it into the air and wiggling it slightly—as if she were showcasing so gourt delicacy.

And as if worried Lu Zheng might not take the bait, she added:

“Look—what a great deal!”

Lu Zheng: “……”

He looked at Yi Ning’s soft foot that was nearly dangling right in front of him—and couldn’t help but feel seriously tempted.
