154. Since When Do Villains Keep Their Word

Lu Zheng looked at the scene before him, as if it were carved into his DNA, then glanced at Yi Ning’s pleading face. A trace of mischief welled up in his heart.

He tugged at his hand experintally, putting on an impatient expression.

“Let go of !”

“What do I have to do for you to co back?”

Yi Ning seed to have truly imrsed herself in the act. She shook Lu Zheng’s arm relentlessly, then bent her knees slightly and knelt on the floor.

“As long as it’s sothing I can do, I’m willing to do anything!”

Promise, secured √

Hearing the line he wanted, Lu Zheng couldn’t help curling his lips into a smile.

He gave Yi Ning’s hand a pull, signaling her to look at him.

“You said it yourself, didn’t you? You said you’re willing to do anything.”

The sly smile on Lu Zheng’s face instantly made Yi Ning uneasy.

Her head shrank back slightly, and with her eyes lifted timidly, her voice trembled a little as she asked carefully:

“Can I take back what I just said?”

“Of course not.”

Lu Zheng responded with a smile.

“Ugh…”

Yi Ning struggled for two seconds, glanced at her grip on Lu Zheng’s wrist, then thought of her unfinished evil quota for the day.

She gave up.

“Say it.”

Clinging tightly to his wrist, Yi Ning used it for support as she stood up. Her gaze at him was full of resentnt.

“Heh heh…”

“Then tell why you’re so insistent on keeping here.”

Lu Zheng chuckled, his eyes at her carrying a teasing glint.

This…

Hearing his words, Yi Ning’s body stiffened.

Her eyes darted, and she instinctively wanted to lie.

“No lying! You promised you’d do anything, right?”

Lu Zheng gave her arm a tug.

Yi Ning looked up at him with grievance.

She was an evil scientist—wasn’t going back on one’s word supposed to be standard practice?

So she shook his arm coquettishly.

“Actually… um…”

“Lies forbidden!”

Before she could finish, Lu Zheng pinched her face shut with his hand, forcing her lips closed.

“Hmph!”

Yi Ning rolled her eyes coquettishly at him.

“Ask sothing else!”

“Fine.”

Lu Zheng nodded.

“Then…”

Yi Ning’s eyes instantly lit up with expectation.

But the very next second, Lu Zheng’s words plunged her into despair.

“If you won’t say, then let go of my hand and let return to the Hero Association.”

Let’s get back to that earlier matter.

“So, the reason you’re blocking and won’t let leave is because you want to finish today’s evil quota by dragging straight to the alien planet?”

After hearing Yi Ning’s explanation, Lu Zheng’s gaze turned complicated.

You really are missing a moral compass!

They were back in the reception room now, sitting on opposite sides of the sofa with a subtle distance between them.

“Pretty please~”

Yi Ning silently slid closer to Lu Zheng, hugging his arm and rubbing it lightly against her chest, trying to use her “softness” to tempt him.

If cunning didn’t work, maybe her body would.

Unfortunately, her so-called twin peaks were far too barren—better described as the twin plains.

For Lu Zheng, the only sensation was his arm brushing against a wall twice. Not the slightest bit of temptation stirred in him.

Instead, it was Yi Ning, who wasn’t used to wearing underwear out of embarrassnt, who ended up flustered from the friction.

“Please~”

“You’re trying to make commit an error.”

Lu Zheng sat grandly on the sofa, one hand resting on his thigh. The other, trapped in Yi Ning’s arms, he made no attempt to withdraw.

And that alone gave Yi Ning a glimr of hope.

The fact that Lu Zheng hadn’t pulled away—didn’t that an she still had a chance?

She might have gotten used to losing all the ti, but if she could win just once, she’d have so much more to brag about in front of those beasts back ho.

Clinging to this sliver of hope Lu Zheng deliberately dangled, Yi Ning hugged his arm tighter.

Still, knowing her physical charms were lacking, her attempts at temptation escalated.

“If you help , then I’ll…”

Yi Ning hesitated for a few seconds, finally deciding to make a small sacrifice.

“My jade feet…”

She loosened her hold on his arm, shifted slightly aside, and placed her bare feet onto Lu Zheng’s knees.

Her feet were wrapped in clean white socks, and having just co out of her shoes, a faint white mist still clung to them, obscuring them slightly in the light.

“You can touch them however you like~”

To add to the temptation, Yi Ning wiggled her toes gracefully, the arches of her feet gently brushing against Lu Zheng’s knees.

“Well? Think about it?”

Yi Ning tilted her head, trying to catch a flicker of reaction from Lu Zheng’s expression.

But regrettably, his face was blank.

Yi Ning’s heart jolted.

She had always succeeded with a little temptation before.

Was he not satisfied with this?

She lowered her head in thought for a few seconds, then glanced at him again. Her heart steeled itself.

Raise the stakes!

Keeping her feet on his knees, Yi Ning edged herself closer.

“Not just my feet—my legs too… you can touch them a little higher.”

After saying this, she looked at Lu Zheng again, only to be disappointed—he still showed no reaction.

Did she have to let him go even further?

Her gaze slid up her own legs, then higher.

No!

Impossible!

She had her bottom line.

Yi Ning shook her head.

With a sigh, she pulled her feet back from Lu Zheng’s legs, stood up, and sat on the other end of the sofa.

“State your demand.”

At her words, Lu Zheng raised his eyes, glancing at her with interest.

He had thought she would keep trying useless temptations.

“You might as well give up. I’ll never agree to your request. Today’s sche has failed.”

Lu Zheng shook his head.

As the ace hero of the D-City Hero Association, no matter how Yi Ning tried to tempt him, he would never choose to leave D-City with her.

It was a matter of responsibility.

Hearing this, Yi Ning pouted unhappily.

“Even that’s not enough? You’re so greedy. But too bad—even if you keep pretending to be aloof, there are no more benefits!

“You can just drown in your own delusions, you pervert!”

Though she had failed to tempt him, Yi Ning twisted it around as if Lu Zheng had been trying to force her into submission, only for her to bravely resist and foil his sche.

Truly worthy of being a mber of an evil organization—her ability to flip black and white had reached perfection.

Yi Ning even felt a little smug.

So what if the plan had failed?

At least she’d had the satisfaction of running her mouth.

Lu Zheng gave her a helpless glance. He had no intention of arguing. Instead, he stood, preparing to return to the Hero Association to report.

But his indifferent attitude only made Yi Ning grow more agitated.

Yi Ning was far from satisfied.
