Chapter 104 – Is There No Justice? No Law?

10:30 A.M.

Seeing another unfamiliar man appear in the surveillance footage, Lu Zheng instinctively glanced at the tistamp, then resud playback at normal speed.

“Sigh—”

Probably another delivery guy or courier.

He sighed and rested his face in his hand.

After the previous experience with that deliveryman, Lu Zheng didn’t feel particularly motivated now.

But as Rigil’s figure fully entered the fra, the shared bicycle he was riding drew Lu Zheng’s attention.

Delivery workers and couriers wouldn’t ride one of those.

So, could he be a salesperson?

Lu Zheng recalled the sign and Yi Ning’s repeated words when opening the door for him before:

“No soliciting.”

If she had to put it so plainly, then it probably ant a lot of salespeople ca knocking on her door regularly.

But then Lu Zheng rembered how remote Yi Ning’s base was.

Miles away from the city—nearly a half-hour drive.

Would any salesperson really bother traveling that far to peddle goods?

On a shared bicycle, no less.

The round-trip fare alone would be a significant cost.

With that in mind, Lu Zheng zood in on Rigil’s figure and snapped a picture of his face with his phone.

But this ti, he didn’t imdiately send it to Miss Qiu Yu—instead, he decided to keep observing from the footage.

He had already embarrassed himself once from acting too hastily.

And while the shared bike was a suspicious detail, it was also evidence that the man probably wasn’t with the Freedom Alliance.

After all, shared bikes required verified identification to use.

How could any mber of an evil organization or the Freedom Alliance possess IDs issued by the Hero Association?

Even forr heroes who had defected would have their identification revoked the mont their betrayal was confird—to prevent misuse of credentials.

Unless the person was a completely off-the-grid ability user or undocunted civilian who’d been quietly abducted and whose family hadn’t reported them missing yet.

But how could that be?

Not only would the Freedom Alliance have to evade all the ability-monitoring systems surveilling the city to pull off such a kidnapping, but even if they succeeded, how would they smuggle the person out of Hero Association territory?

Hero Association branches were embedded in every city—they weren’t to be trifled with.

Lu Zheng smirked and lightly shook his head.

As expected.

That guy couldn’t possibly be with the Freedom Alliance.

“Heh~”

He chuckled twice, shifting into a more relaxed mood as he watched the footage.

On screen, Rigil rode the bike to a spot not far from Yi Ning’s front gate, dismounted, and walked up to the door, glancing at the ti.

Then, he straightened his clothes and rang Yi Ning’s doorbell.

Unlike the previous deliveryman, Rigil stood at the door for quite a while without Yi Ning showing up.

His agitation beca visibly apparent.

He kept pressing the doorbell and tapping his foot impatiently.

Watching this man being left outside by Yi Ning, Lu Zheng chuckled again.

Salesman, no doubt.

Why else would she leave him hanging like this?

But as the man’s doorbell spam intensified, Yi Ning eventually opened the door and walked out with a resigned expression to speak with him.

Salespeople really were getting out of hand these days.

Even when clearly unwanted, they kept pushing.

Should he talk with Miss Qiu Yu later about starting a police operation to deal with this kind of illegal harassnt?

Lu Zheng mused, while enlarging the view of the two figures appropriately.

At the sa ti, the hand supporting his chin began lightly tapping his face.

Considering his less-than-competent lip-reading skills, Lu Zheng decided not to attempt deciphering their exchange—lest he end up with another “WC, ice!” type misunderstanding.

As ti passed, both individuals' expressions began turning unpleasant.

Yi Ning had already made clear gestures to drive the man away, but instead of leaving, he looked increasingly enraged.

Seeing the rising tension between the two, Lu Zheng himself started to feel a bit angry.

What’s the deal with these pushy salesn nowadays?

But then, as Yi Ning's lips moved, the man showed a visibly stunned expression, then quickly smiled at her ingratiatingly.

That’s more like it.

Lu Zheng nodded slightly in approval.

If you're selling sothing, your attitude should at least be decent.

How do you expect to sell anything when you’re stomping around like that?

Unfortunately, his earlier arrogant deanor had clearly ticked off Yi Ning.

She didn’t want to talk to him anymore and was ready to shut the door.

Rigil moved fast.

He blocked the door with his foot.

Then reached out to grab Yi Ning’s arm.

Bang!

That action greatly displeased Lu Zheng.

He couldn’t hold back—he slapped the table hard.

Is there no justice? No law?

In broad daylight, under the sky and sun!

Soone actually dared block a woman’s door and tried to grab her arm?

Do you not know that’s a ○ cri!?

Good thing Lu Zheng knew the man had only blocked Yi Ning’s door and grabbed her arm—and hadn’t used any abilities.

Otherwise, Lu Zheng would’ve pinned him to the ground and hauled him in right then and there.

On screen, Yi Ning easily dodged the grab, then slapped the man across the face.

“Nice hit!”

Lu Zheng smacked the table again in approval.

Maybe the slap had stunned him.

Taking advantage of his daze, Yi Ning said sothing while delivering another slap to his face, then followed with two straight punches, leaving Rigil’s nose pouring blood.

Lu Zheng blinked at the screen, silent.

Admittedly, Yi Ning’s follow-up punches were a bit excessive.

Even through surveillance footage, it was obvious she was venting her anger.

Especially that final punch to the nose—Yi Ning had clearly gone full force.

Still, considering Yi Ning was the victim, and the man hadn't stopped violating her space—

Lu Zheng decided to comnd her actions.

“Nice hit!”
