Duan Yun climbed the wall into his new house and found the backyard overgrown with weeds, looking like a place where snakes could easily hide.

He made his way to the front courtyard and found two trees.

One was a plum tree, the other was also a plum tree.

The courtyard with the two plum trees was spacious but, having been neglected for many years, the cracks between the worn flagstones were filled with stubborn weeds.

And this long row of houses had been neglected for years as well, covered in spider webs.

Duan Yun noticed that one of the rooms had particularly dense spider webs, looking just like Silk Cave.

Then, he saw two spiders, at least as big as a palm, crawling there.

To be honest, Duan Yun wasn’t particularly afraid of spiders, but the size of these ones was a bit too much for him.

If they kept growing, wouldn’t they turn into Spider Demons that eat people?

Thinking that this was his own house after all, how could he allow such creatures to exist? So, with goodwill, Duan Yun sent the pair of large spiders off with two flicks of his sword finger.

Whether it was spider webs or weeds, none of it was a problem for Duan Yun.

His Breaking Body Sword Energy was particularly handy for removing weeds and spider webs.

Now, he was worried about whether there was a room that could provide shelter from the wind and rain.

The Mountain Villa was really large, with probably thirty rooms if not forty, but they were all riddled with holes.

Just as in Qingcha Market, he was looking for a place to live that could provide shelter from the wind and rain and be convenient for living, and if not, he would have to fix up two rooms first.

After passing through two long corridors, Duan Yun finally found two rooms that could be salvaged.

With a light leap, Duan Yun got onto the roof.

The roof had so holes but was still structurally sound.

He grabbed so roof tiles from the neighboring roof and managed to patch up the holes on the roof.

But there was no fixing the dilapidated windows; he had to go to town to buy so mulberry paper.

So, Duan Yun left through the main gate of the villa, rode Little Grey to Yushi Town, bought the mulberry paper and paste needed to fix the windows, as well as so ready-made food to take back.

Honestly, this was very much like his ti in Qingcha Market, but a magnified version of it.

The house in Qingcha Market was dilapidated, and the Mountain Villa was even larger and more rundown. Outside the house in Qingcha Market there was a graveyard, and here it neighbored an entire graveyard.

There was a lake in Qingcha Market, and there was one here as well, what’s more ridiculous was that he saw a similar box in this lake.

The box was sunk in the lake surrounded by aquatic plants, resembling a coffin.

The last ti there was a box in the lake, it contained a bear with a human brain sewn into it when he opened it, so what about this ti?

Having learned his lesson from last ti, Duan Yun didn’t bother with it and headed straight for the villa.

I’m not crazy, who would ss with a mysterious chest like this for no reason!

Today the weather was gloomy, with a chance of rain in the evening, so he needed to fix the windows quickly.

Those who often invent their own Cultivation Techniques know how extrely difficult it is to create one, and even he, a once-in-a-lifeti Sword Dao genius, needed a good environnt to progress smoothly.

After returning, Duan Yun imdiately began fixing the windows without stopping, while letting Little Grey graze in the courtyard.

However, the donkey seed to be sowhat afraid of this house and did not dare to wander far.

Duan Yun glanced outside.

So of the wild grass was almost half a person’s height, with an environnt like this, snakes were unavoidable.

Just like the two large spiders he had killed earlier, Little Grey probably would be scared too.

But this was all temporary, once the window paper was pasted well today and he settled down for the ti being, the next step would be to weed.

Duan Yun quite enjoyed the process of clearing land, especially seeing such an old place co back to life because of his effort, giving him a sense of accomplishnt.

The key point was that this house was free.

By this ti, the sky had turned darker, the clouds heavy, creating a sense of oppression.

In this abandoned Mountain Villa, everything seed even more eerie.

Duan Yun cut the mulberry paper to size, then began fixing the windows.

The villa had been desolate for who knows how long, the window paper was already torn through, with nothing left but the fras.

Many window fras were also severely damaged, so he went to other rooms to find so that were just usable.

The last task was pasting the paper.

This kind of raw-edged paper was quite tough, keeping out wind and rain without any issues, not at all like in the dramas where one pokes through it with a wet finger.

Of course, his fingers could.

Because his finger skills were excellent.

After a bustle, Duan Yun had fixed one and a half windows and didn’t feel like fixing the remaining half right now.

He was hungry, and having one room to sleep in for the night was enough.

Just as Duan Yun put down the crude paper he was using, planning to get so food, a ghostly voice suddenly spoke up—"Could you help fix mine too?"

It was now dusk, the sky was getting dark, and in this old house, the sudden appearance of such a voice would have startled even the legendary Old Demon Duan.

Damn, it really was like seeing a ghost!

He made a sword finger gesture with his hand and looked around, quickly turning his gaze toward a rolled-up bamboo mat under a rickety table.

He had seen this mat before and thought it was just so discarded trash, but now he realized that there was a vague silhouette of a person lying within it.

The scene made it easy to imagine a corpse wrapped in a bamboo mat.

Duan Yun broke out in a rash of goosebumps and nervously asked, "Are you human or a ghost?"

At that mont, the mat moved slightly and revealed the disheveled face of a man.

The man’s complexion was pale, like paper, and in the dim light, it looked rather horrifying.

"Of course, I’m human," the person replied faintly.

"Why would a person be lying here?" Duan Yun found it weird and kept his guard up.

"This is my ho, where else should I be lying but here?" the person replied.

"This is your ho?" Duan Yun exclaid in shock.

He hadn’t expected that beyond himself, there would actually be such an oddball considering this place ho.

"Of course, this is my ho. Yuzhu Villa is indeed my property. Under the third floorboard to the right of your foot lies the property deed for this place," the lying person said.

Duan Yun squatted down and felt for the floorboard ntioned by the person.

Unexpectedly, underneath it, there indeed was a property deed.

This was awkward.

After all that effort, it turned out this dilapidated haunted house had an owner.

Wasn’t his effort all in vain?

"My friend, it’s going to rain soon, please help fix it," said the person, still motionless inside the mat, looking like a dead body.

"Why don’t you fix it yourself?" Duan Yun couldn’t help asking.

"I’m lazy. If I wanted to fix it, I would have done it a year ago," the person replied earnestly.

Duan Yun was shocked and said, "You’ve been lying here for a year?"

He found that today he had been shocked more tis than in the past month.

"About that, ti does fly when you’re lying down," the person quipped.

Seeing Duan Yun not moving, the person continued, "I won’t let you fix it for nothing. As the Manor Master of Yuzhu Villa, I’ll allow you to stay here. The rent is negotiable."

Duan Yun looked as though he’d seen a ghost and said, "You’re charging rent for this kind of house?"

That was just as absurd as calling this Ghost Mountain Villa "Yuzhu Villa."

"Of course, I’ll charge! I, as the Manor Master of the Mountain Villa lying here, can’t let you stay for free now that I’ve seen you, can I?"

Duan Yun suddenly got serious and said, "I, Duan Yun, will not freeload!"

At that mont, the lying slacker said, "I didn’t expect you to share the sa na as that Old Demon Duan."

Duan Yun blinked and said, "How would you know about Old Demon Duan while lying in this haunted house?"

"A few days ago, people were paying respects to their ancestors outside the wall, I heard them talking about it."

"You’re not afraid that I might be the real Old Demon Duan?" Duan Yun asked.

"If you are Old Demon Duan, then I must be the Emperor, the Emperor who specifically sleeps with the Emperor’s mother."

After hearing this statent, Duan Yun couldn’t help but laugh and said, "I’m not Old Demon Duan, so you’re definitely not the Emperor. Then who are you?"

"I’m Murong, known as the Murong Brothers."

"What the heck?"

For a mont, Duan Yun felt his brain couldn’t quite keep up with the pace.
